Chapter 23 - 23

So Coulson asked Donnie if he was willing to provide clues and accept S.H.I.E.L.D.'s support. This could be seen as an opportunity to deepen the relationship between the two parties by getting Donnie to accept their assistance, which would give them plenty of time and opportunities to cooperate in the future.

This is a great opportunity.

Donnie smiled. Even though he knew Coulson was treating him well, he still felt relieved. He smiled and said to the phone, "Coulson, I have to say, you're really good at talking. Every word you say hits the nail on the head."

Coulson smiled as well, not showing any obvious refusal. This was a good sign. Coulson said gently, "At least we can provide you with what you need, right? We have no intention of harming you. We've wanted to win you over since day one, and we've never concealed this fact."

Downey remained noncommittal. A large organization like S.H.I.E.L.D. was indeed cunning, able to deliver such precise words. What did "never concealed" mean? Anyone with a brain would understand that a global organization would seek to co-opt him. If they couldn't, they'd shelve him. If they could cause harm, they'd eliminate him.

Looking at Downey's past and background, it's too clean. He has never committed any crime and has no ambiguous dealings with any organizations. His entire experience is a template of a petty citizen, diligent, clean and thorough. S.H.I.E.L.D. can find out everything about Downey's past, so it would be strange if they wouldn't be tempted.

Add to that the calmness Donnie displayed when he woke up in the hospital, and the combination of kindness and force heightened his malice. Therefore, SHIELD simply didn't hide their intention to win him over, and there was no need to hide it, as both parties knew it.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was initially concerned that Donny, now carefree and grieving the loss of his parents, might go down a mad path, instantly transforming into a super-criminal, wreaking havoc and causing massive casualties. But Donny's actions gave them a sigh of relief, offering them no immediate worries, and their desire to win him over became even more urgent.

An unattached superhuman fighter was too dangerous, so they needed to bring Donnie into the system. Whether it was a bond or a mission, at least he would have something to motivate him to move forward, rather than acting recklessly.

Finally, Coulson told him that the director of SHIELD would visit him soon and hoped to have a frank talk.

Donnie shrugged and didn't refuse. He said to Coulson, "I just want some silver weapons now. It would be better if you could send us another batch of alloys. I need them."

Coulson agreed immediately. He was not afraid that Tony would have any requests, but he was afraid that Tony would have no other requests. The fact that he could ask of them was a good sign.

After hanging up the phone, Tony first glanced coldly at the old bartender who was sleeping like a dead pig. There was a big bump on the old bartender's head, which was caused by Tony hitting him with vibranium.

Driving the car, Donnie went straight to the scrapyard. He wanted to find the manager, ask for information, and then kill him. But in the end, he failed. The manager was already dead, holding a handful of US dollars in his arms, as if he was conducting some kind of transaction.

He was shot and killed.

Donnie sighed. Although he had some guesses in his mind, he was still a little disappointed when he saw this scene. A clue was broken.

He drove into the junk pile, picking and choosing, and barely pulling out a few good ones, then controlling Optimus Prime to selectively assemble and devour them. This was an extremely tedious process. Optimus Prime was limited by the Allspark, and couldn't recklessly upgrade his body. Limited by its own material, he had to eliminate inferior metals and devices during the devouring process, absorbing more advanced ones. This constant devouring and elimination was very troublesome.

That's why Donny specifically brought the old bartender back. He needed him to help him build a powerful motorcycle. A vehicle with a high starting point, after being modified, would have greater flexibility before hitting a bottleneck. Unlike Optimus Prime, who was powerful, the upgrade process was too complicated and consumed too much fire energy, nearly making his brain explode in pain.

The new Optimus Prime rises from the ground,

Nearly four meters tall, with a gleaming metallic sheen and a dizzyingly complex structure, Donnie was very satisfied. His vehicle had seen a leap in combat power, and Donnie was now more confident in facing emergencies.

Downey picked out two more cars, immersed them in spark energy, and wanted to transform them into Transformers to temporarily serve as cannon fodder.

He was very cautious this time. People need to grow up. After being cheated once, he will not allow himself to be cheated a second time. This world is too dangerous and one can fall into a pit if he is not careful.

The old bartender was still lying on the ground pretending to be dead.

"Hey, if you don't want to suffer, get up!" Donny threatened him.

The old bartender's eyelids twitched, and he continued to play dead with a thick face.

Bang!

Donny is very straightforward, so straightforward that it's a little scary. He just took out his vibranium and hit the old bartender on the back of the head, leaving another big bump on the old bartender's head.

"Hey, why isn't there any reaction? Am I being overly suspicious, and is he truly unconscious?" Donnie was suspicious, rubbing his chin as he analyzed. He'd been using vibranium quite a bit lately; this high-grade brick was masterfully wielded in his hands, its power astonishing.

The old bartender was in tears. He was pretending to be asleep, but this time he was knocked unconscious again. This idiot didn't even try to test him, but just hit him with a brick. It was so cruel.

Donny was worried and felt a little suspicious because he had been plotted against. He always felt that someone around him was trying to trick him, and he couldn't put his mind at ease. So he took decisive action and hit the old bartender several times in a row, beating him into a pig's head. Only then did he put away the vibranium with satisfaction.

If vibranium had a soul, I'm afraid it would curse. No stupid human has ever treated it like this and used it as a brick to hit people. It's outrageous.

Donny controlled Optimus Prime, turned him into a truck, and threw the old bartender into the truck bed.

The new Optimus Prime, even in its truck form, looks much more imposing. Not only is it shiny and bright, but it's also larger and more reliable. An experienced driver would undoubtedly exclaim, "Nice car!"

Donny slowly drove Optimus Prime, followed by two rickety cars, back to New York. It was a smooth ride, and surprisingly, no one attacked him. Donny was still waiting for the guy behind the scenes to plot against him. After all, they'd been busy for so long, so they might finally give him a try. If they dared to come again, Donny swore to beat the crap out of them.

However, the expected fierce battle did not occur. It seemed that the people behind the scenes understood that this was Donny's home turf and watched Donny return to the city smoothly. However, after entering the city, several passers-by were surprised to see two abandoned cars behind them, without even steering wheels, moving forward on their own. They screamed in fear and called the police.

Donnie ignored them and headed straight for his little house, which was the place he cherished the most. He also wanted to prepare himself for dealing with Nick Fury, the old man, and decided to wait and see what Fury would say.
