Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 – Shin and Beerus

Merus was at a complete loss.

Don't the Supreme Kai know? In front of Lord Beerus, what is Majin Buu worth?

Even I, just a trainee Angel, might not be able to stand against the God of Destruction, Lord Beerus.

What worried Merus most was the Supreme Kai doing something reckless toward Beerus. That would be a disaster.

But before Merus could even finish his thought, the Supreme Kai had already used Kai Kai and vanished.

The hand Merus had half-extended fell back awkwardly.

He scratched his head, quickly debating whether he should contact Whis immediately.

Would Whis even sense that the Supreme Kai had gone to Beerus's world? If not, and something happened, things would spiral out of control.

Snap!

Merus made up his mind. With a flick of his hand, a staff appeared in his grasp.

At this critical moment, he could no longer afford to conceal his identity. And it didn't really matter if the Supreme Kai's attendants learned who he was.

Broly rubbed his eyes, surprised at the sudden appearance of the staff, circling Merus to see where the stick had come from.

Kibito also froze in surprise. What was that thing?

Ken leaned closer to peer into the crystal sphere set atop the staff.

"Hey, Whis, long time no see," Ken immediately waved into the crystal, greeting the figure that had just appeared.

Merus was dumbfounded.

Whis looked equally astonished.

Both turned their gaze on Ken.

"You… you can see him?" Merus asked with a bitter smile.

"…Shouldn't I be able to?" Ken asked back.

"That's… no. Unless we deliberately allow it, not even the God of Destruction can see into the crystal ball," Merus explained.

"Mm-hmm," Ken nodded twice.

Merus: …

What kind of answer is "mm-hmm"?

"My, my, how remarkable, Ken. I never imagined you'd be able to see me," Whis said with a smile.

"You flatter me," Ken replied humbly.

"I see nothing at all…" Broly muttered, circling the staff's crystal suspiciously, glancing from Ken to Merus. Who were they talking to? Why couldn't he see anyone?

Kibito, meanwhile, snorted in disdain and didn't bother joining in.

"Whis, did you enjoy the sausages last time? Want some more?" Ken asked suddenly.

"Ahem… they were quite good… but no, I don't need any more right now," Whis answered, quickly changing the subject. "Anyway, Merus, what urgent business made you contact me?"

"Ah—yes! Something very important!" Merus slapped his forehead, then hurriedly said, "The Supreme Kai has likely entered Lord Beerus's castle! What's more, there seems to be a gap in his inheritance—he doesn't even know about Lord Beerus, let alone us Angels."

"Goodness, is that so?" Whis was taken aback. He immediately turned his gaze toward the distant castle.

Sure enough, he sensed the Supreme Kai inside.

"I'll go check it out," Whis said to Merus, then ended the communication.

Ken didn't interrupt. If anything happened to the Supreme Kai now, it would be trouble for everyone.

After all, the one he'd gone to see was Beerus.

Ken even pictured the scene in his mind: the Supreme Kai glaring at Beerus, Beerus sneezing back—

Both of them vanishing in the storm.

The mental image was… too much.

Realm of the God of Destruction, Planet Beerus.

Inside the castle.

The Supreme Kai had arrived via Kaikai, now standing beside Beerus.

He glared coldly at the slumbering cat-like deity, snorting in disdain.

Beerus was curled up comfortably, purring in his sleep, even snoring.

"Hmph. Who would've thought… just a cat-man, yet the one behind Frieza!" the Supreme Kai muttered, his eyes turning icy. "If I eliminate you, this universe will finally know peace! I may have failed against Majin Buu, but I can kill you!"

The more he spoke, the more agitated he became. Without hesitation, he suddenly glared at the sleeping Beerus.

In an instant, divine power enveloped Beerus's body.

Boom!

Beerus's body smashed through the wall behind him, flung out in an arc across the air.

"God of Destruction, is this all?" the Supreme Kai sneered, smiling proudly.

So much for his fearsome reputation.

Wasn't he just sent flying by my gaze?

Surely he was half-dead already.

Thud!

Beerus landed flat on the grass outside, limbs splayed.

But then he rolled over, stretched lazily, and resumed snoring.

"…Mosquitoes?" he mumbled in his sleep, blowing a reddish-purple bubble from his mouth.

Whoosh!

The bubble shot toward the castle at frightening speed.

It pierced the hole in the wall and streaked directly toward the Supreme Kai.

"A bubble? Hmph. Parlor tricks like this before me?" the Supreme Kai scoffed, waving his hands as divine power surged against it.

It was useless.

The bubble kept coming closer.

"What? Impossible!" the Supreme Kai's eyes widened in shock.

Just as it was about to strike him—

Whoosh!

Whis arrived, staff in hand, and with a casual flick, struck the bubble aside.

Boom!

The reddish-purple sphere pierced the castle ceiling, drifting higher into the sky.

Pop!

The next moment, it struck a star high above.

In an instant, the star disintegrated into nothingness.

The Realm of the God of Destruction dimmed noticeably.
