Chapter 857 - Chapter 857

Boom!!!!?

A heaven-shaking explosion rang out as the entire drilling platform lurched violently. The giant squid's massive body slammed down hard onto the deck. The terrifying impact knocked it out instantly—its tentacles went limp and sprawled out, no longer moving. The metal deck caved in with a clearly visible dent.

For the moment, the sea returned to calm, with only the waves still slapping against the platform.

Saitama hopped down from the crane boom onto the deck. He walked up to the unconscious giant squid and nudged its enormous head with his foot, confirming it really was out cold. Then he bent down, picked up the tip of a relatively smaller tentacle, and swung it around like he was playing with a rope.

At that moment, Arthur leapt up from the sea onto Platform 06. He stared at the surreal scene in front of him—an unstoppable deep-sea behemoth lying on the deck like a dead fish, while the bald man casually flicked its tentacle around like a toy. Arthur opened his mouth, but for a second, he genuinely forgot what he was supposed to say.

The King of the Seven Seas. The overlord of the ocean.

And right now, in front of this man… his title and his power suddenly felt a bit… unnecessary. Even ridiculous.

Saitama noticed Arthur and stopped. He tossed the tentacle aside and patted his hands.

"Oh, you're here. So… what do we do with this?" He looked the giant squid over, as if considering it as ingredients. "It kinda looks edible."

Arthur snapped back to reality. His expression was complicated as he looked at Saitama, then at the unconscious monster, and finally let out a bitter laugh.

"…Leave it to me. I'll send it back to the deep sea, or hand it over to the appropriate agencies for research." He paused, then added quietly, "...Thank you, Saitama."

"No problem." Saitama waved a hand. "Next time there's this kind of big seafood… uh, I mean sea monster, you can call me again."

After saying that, he signaled up at the helicopter, telling them they could come pick him up.

Arthur stood on the deck and watched as the helicopter took Saitama away. Then he looked down at the unconscious beast at his feet, his heart full of mixed emotions.

He ruled the ocean. He had witnessed countless powerful deep-sea creatures and ancient existences. But an existence like Saitama—someone who overturned the laws of physics with nothing but pure flesh-and-blood strength, effortlessly resolving a threat that even he found troublesome—this was the first time Arthur had ever seen anything like it.

It forced him to rethink the very boundaries of "power," in a way that was new… and frankly, a little shocking.

The ocean might be his domain.

But some beings… had strength that could ignore any environment's limits.

New York City.

The city that never sleeps—beneath its glittering surface, a subway system sprawled like blood vessels, complex and ceaseless, keeping the metropolis alive day and night.

But today, this underground artery sent out ominous signs.

At first, there were scattered reports of delayed trains. Then entire lines shut down completely. The shriek of emergency brakes, panicked passenger screams, and the teeth-grinding metal-on-metal scraping from deep within the tunnels wove together into a chaotic symphony of fear.

Red and blue siren lights flashed like madness at the station entrance. Emergency evacuation was underway. Staff and police fought to maintain order, guiding shaken passengers up to the surface.

But deeper inside those black tunnels… the real crisis was spreading.

"JARVIS, scan swarm density. Mark the primary emergence points."

A calm voice with a faint metallic texture echoed through the empty tunnel.

Iron Man hovered inches above the tracks, his red-and-gold armor reflecting the harsh emergency lights.
