"We need… more precise, more powerful physical intervention," Fury said over the comms. "I've already contacted Saitama. He's on a helicopter headed to your position."
Arthur frowned. He'd heard Saitama's name and knew he possessed unbelievable power, but on this vast battlefield of the ocean what could a land-based powerhouse really do? He remained doubtful.
Not long after, a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopter pushed through the stormwinds and hovered at a safe distance above the offshore platform. The cabin door slid open, and the gale was so strong it was hard to even keep one's eyes open. Saitama leaned out and looked down. Below was churning, ink-blue seawater. The drilling platform swayed in the waves, and the giant squid's enormous dark shadow flickered in and out beneath the surface, its tentacles whipping wildly.
"Oh. That's a big octopus," Saitama commented, as flatly as ever.
"Saitama! Please be careful!" the pilot shouted through the headset. "That monster's tentacles are insanely strong—and corrosive!"
Saitama nodded, then did something that made everyone's hearts stop—he jumped straight out of the helicopter. No rope. No parachute.
"Is he crazy?!" Arthur saw it from the water and was stunned too.
But Saitama didn't plummet into the sea. Like he was guided by a targeting system, his descent angled toward the platform deck near where the squid's main body was. In midair, he adjusted his posture and landed lightly on a crane boom that hadn't been wrapped up yet.
The giant squid immediately noticed this new intruder. A tentacle as thick as a barrel, lined with suction cups the size of bowls, lashed out like a steel whip, whistling through the air as it slammed toward Saitama on the boom!
Before the strike even arrived, the stench of brine and corrosive slime was already in his face.
Saitama stood on the swaying boom and watched the tentacle come in. He didn't dodge. At the exact moment it was about to hit him, he shot his hand out like lightning and precisely grabbed the tip of the tentacle.
Pa!
A dull smack sounded out. The tentacle's massive momentum vanished the instant it reached his hand. It writhed uselessly in his grip, and corrosive slime dripped onto his hand and clothes, yet it couldn't leave even the slightest mark.
The squid seemed to freeze for a split second. It tried to yank the tentacle back, but it was as if it had been cast into solid steel—completely immovable. It let out a low-frequency, enraged hiss. The other tentacles abandoned their grip on the platform and all surged toward Saitama at once!
"Watch out!" Arthur shouted from the sea, preparing to rush in.
But Saitama was already moving. With one hand still gripping that tentacle, he tightened his core and stomped hard against the boom.
"Up you come."
With a low shout, Saitama's arm unleashed an unimaginable burst of strength. Just by holding a single tentacle, he forcibly hauled the deep-sea giant squid's mountain-sized body up—ripping it free from the platform supports and the suction of the sea itself!
The squid flailed the rest of its tentacles in panic, but its massive body was already out of control, tearing up from the surface and arcing through the air!
In the stunned gaze of Arthur, the helicopter pilot, and Fury watching through satellite feed, Saitama swung the enormous deep-sea giant squid like it was a towel and then smashed it down violently onto an open stretch of metal deck beside the platform.
