Chapter 3 - Fear and Regret is Nothing But your Body's Lies.

Early in the morning, the first desire that entered Klaus's mind was to butcher his best friend. The fucking faggot had put his gorlock ass leg on his chest the entire night.

But a hot shower in his private bathroom had washed these thoughts away, God knew he missed the feeling of it.

'Maybe…. just maybe, Toby is right. Why am I all cold and edgy, the Nightmare's over, I have nothing to worry about.

'I beat the Nightmare, that proves I'm better, so why am I feeling scared of this life and regretful of my previous life.'

Thoughts like these ran rampant through his head, as Klaus grimaced inwardly. In the end, Klaus decided that this would end.

'What is fear and regret other than chemicals floating around the brain? They were fleeting illusions born to shackle oneself to prevent them from rising…. rising above their current status.

'Chains wrap around the body of a lesser being, one who bows and listens to their paranoia, their minds inhibitions. But I have no obligations to obey my body's lies.

'If the mind is a blade, then emotions and feelings are rust—and I will grind it away until only cold steel remains. Isn't that right Goat Yuan?'

Klaus's insidious voice whispered silently in his mind, as his self induced limitations faded.

Klaus closed his eyes as the hot water fell on his body, warming his naturally cold veins, his mouth parted open slightly, as he made a declaration to himself.

"Starting from now, I'm going back to the cocky and arrogant person I once was."

Toby woke up a few minutes later, "How was your sleep? Mine was absolutely perfect" He asked lazily.

Klaus struggled inwardly, he was sure Toby knew what he did, but in the end he held his anger back.

After Toby freshend up, they left in tow to the cafeteria. Maybe some smooth pancakes would cheer him up.

They soon passed by a peculiar table, sitting on a table was a quiet and delicate girl. Her clothes were plain, nothing pretty about them, it was just a simple robe.

Her long blonde hair, fell to her shoulders, her pretty little blue eyes rested still and unmoving. She looked like a doll, and the person sitting opposite to her was a porcelain doll.

His skin was pale and his eyes were dark, his jet black hair streched wildly out. His figure was short and thin, a classic outskirts build.

Just as they were about to pass them, Toby's lips curled up into a smile, his mouth slightly parted, but before he could speak.

His words were interrupted by another louder, pompous and arrogant voice, "Do you know what blind girls and widows have in common?" Klaus taunted.

Upon hearing his words, Toby's eyes beamed, "Oh pray tell, I have no idea." He asked mischievously, he felt that maybe his darling brother hadn't faded into obscurity after all.

"They both can't see their loved ones." Klaus spoke, loud enough for the duo to hear.

Sunny looked slightly unsettled upon hearing their words, but he made no action to defend his girl's honour.

Cassie on the other hand, lowered her head robotically, as slight croaks came from her mouth.

Toby laughed devilishly at his words as he slung his arm over Klaus. His mouth twisting into a grin, "My god, my darling brother! You're finally back, I thought I lost you forever."

'God, being an ass is so fun. No wonder Toby always talks like he's got a broomstick jammed up his ass.' Klaus muttered with satisfaction.

Their steps widened after seeing a gathering of Sleepers next to the wall of the cafeteria, "I wonder what has elicited such a reaction." Toby uttered slowly, his lips slowly twisting into a smirk.

A few moments later, Klaus and Toby arrived next to the crowd. Their eyes first landed at the bottom, where unsurprisingly Sunny and Cassie were ranked, but as the voices grew louder, their gazes stretched to the top, each of their lips twisted into a grin.

"How… how can this be?!"

"I'm not seeing things, right?"

"What kind of a monster are they?!"

Caster was placed in second place, and right above him was the portrait of a certain silver haired girl. To the right of it, two simple lines of text were displayed:

"Name: Nephis"

"True Name: Changing Star"

Above Nephis, a portrait of a spiky haired black boy was present with two lines next to the depiction.

"Name: Tobias"

"True Name: Eclipse of Hope."

And finally, the person who took centre stage was of course the better brother—Klaus.

"Name: Niklaus"

"True Name: Crowned In Blood."

Sunny, who stood at a distance, looked slightly shook, 'True Names…. Could they be Divine Aspect wielders too? But three—no four including me, four Divine Aspect wielders in one generation. This has to be more than a coincidence."

"..."

Klaus entered an almost deserted classroom, it was spacious, by spacious he meant spacious!

It looked like a classroom designed to house 70 students, but reality was quite different, other than two people who sat at the front. The rest of the classroom was filled with, not students but dust instead.

Klaus's blue hair which fell down to his shoulders fluttered, his red eyes flashed a bright glint throughout the room.

As the eyes of the older of the two men beaned, "By the heavens! It seems Christmas has come early, two students instead of one! That too, in one generation, my luck has finally risen."

He echoed with pride as Klaus smiled, "Well, knowing how to fight doesn't make any difference if you don't know what to eat and what to drink."

Klaus soon paused, his eyes drifting towards the paler and anemic young man, "Good afternoon to you too, bottom fragger." Klaus taunted slightly, as he took a seat beside the seething Sunny.

The lessons with Awakened Julius were quite pleasant, but it grew tiring slowly. It wasn't that the information Julius instilled in them was too much, but more that Klaus already knew most of it.

He spent a thousand years in his previous backward world in his Nightmare after all.

He gained a large amount of survival lessons from that, what interested Klaus more—was learning how to read the Spell's runes.

At times, the Spell would downright refuse to translate some runes, Klaus didn't want to be illiterate in his world's history.

Knowledge and information was a powerful thing.

Sunny on the other hand was an illiterate idiot, Klaus still had no idea how this bumbling fool who didn't know the difference between than and then would lead the world in the future.

Almost immediately after Julius taught them the basics in translating runes, Klaus left with a few amiable words.

It was time to aurafarm.
