Chapter 103 - Crystal

In the cold, desolate expanse of cosmic space, the crimson Blood Moon slowly approached the Ishimura, which hung suspended in orbit. Thick tentacles extended from its base, coming to rest gently on the Ishimura's flight deck.

Aboard the Ishimura, the crew members had long observed the Blood Moon's steady approach. Initially, they mistook it for some monstrous deep-space creature of this new universe, panicking and attempting to activate the ADS cannons for defense. It was only when the Shield Intelligent System intervened, confirming the Blood Moon was Marcus's creation, that the crew ceased their defensive preparations. In the eyes of many, Marcus, who possessed the power to traverse worlds, was undoubtedly an alien from a higher-dimensional civilization, his human appearance merely a clever disguise. Daniels was a prime example of someone who held this conviction.

Marcus and Isaac crossed the bridge of pulsating flesh and blood, ascending onto the Ishimura. Around them, dozens of curious crew members had already gathered, eager to hear about the two men's experiences over the past dozen hours, as well as to inquire about the enormous Blood Moon now docked alongside them. Due to the Shield Bee Intelligent System's deliberate shielding, these crew members remained completely unaware of the Resident Evil Earth or the events that had unfolded in Raccoon City.

"Alright, first, go get a dozen sets of space-walking suits," Marcus instructed, pushing past the eager crowd and gesturing to a few crew members. "Isaac, you can tell them about Raccoon City." He then added, "By the way, are there any children's protective suits on board?"

"Uh, there are, but—" Jacob, Daniels, and others in the crowd exchanged peculiar glances. However, they didn't delay, immediately moving to retrieve the protective suits. Marcus then used his Mind Power to lift Jill, Carlos, Annette, Sherry, and Tyrell, along with the protective suits, carrying them all back across the flesh-and-blood bridge to the Blood Moon.

"Put these on," Marcus instructed. "Otherwise, you'll be killed by the space environment as soon as you step out." Jill and the others took the protective suits and quickly donned them.

"Space? We're in space now?!" they exclaimed in astonishment. Before breaking through the atmosphere, the Blood Moon's tentacles had completely sealed them within its fleshy confines, so they had only just realized they had reached orbit.

"What a perfect creation," Annette murmured, caressing the smooth, pulsating flesh of the Blood Moon. "It can generate anti-gravity on its own and even survive in space—" As William Birkin's wife and a former Umbrella Corporation researcher, she understood the Blood Moon's incredible biological aspects better than anyone.

"Mommy—" Sherry clutched her mother's coat. This call instantly pulled Annette back from her scientific awe. Stroking Sherry's head, Annette made a silent resolution: to leave the terrifying world of biological research and dedicate herself to caring for her daughter.

Once everyone had donned their protective suits, under Marcus's command, the Blood Moon slowly unfolded the tentacles that had been enveloping them. Instantly, the boundless expanse of space unfolded before their eyes.

"Let's go, your protective suits only have a few minutes of oxygen left. Don't just stand there." Led by Marcus, the astonished group cautiously stepped onto the tentacle bridge. A few of them curiously poked their heads out, directly below them, the vibrant azure Earth rotated.

"I never thought I'd have a day when I'd go to space—" Carlos couldn't help but exclaim. Perhaps he and Tyrell were the only two mercenaries who had ever ventured into space. As they drew closer to the Ishimura, looking at the 1.6-kilometer-long vessel before them, several people couldn't help but gasp in awe. "This is the Ishimura? A spaceship?!" Jill looked at Marcus, who was leading the way, her curiosity about this mysterious man deepening with every passing moment.

Jill was intelligent; she knew that whether it was the ferocious Warbeasts, the creatures called Slashers, the Blood Moon formed by countless aggregated corpses, or even this massive spaceship, none of it could be a creation of humanity's current technological level. Perhaps only "aliens" could explain all of this.

A few minutes later, everyone walked across the tentacle bridge and boarded the Ishimura's flight deck. The Blood Moon's tentacles then retracted, and it floated quietly beside the Ishimura.

"Welcome to the Planet Cracker, USG Ishimura," Marcus declared, turning around and removing his helmet to face the bewildered people from the Resident Evil world. Behind him, dozens of Ishimura crew members also gazed at Jill and Carlos with curious eyes. "Dr. Elizabeth, Dr. Kane, I'll leave it to you to introduce the Ishimura to these few and settle them in." After giving his instructions, Marcus no longer paid attention to the lively crowd, striding purposefully towards the bridge.

Soon, Marcus arrived at the Captain's Quarters. After taking the captain's seat, Marcus opened his system panel and casually used up one of his lottery chances.

[Telekinesis Crystal Source: Chronicle

Effect 1: Intelligent beings touching the crystal will gain "Mind Power"; the strength of the effect depends on the being's talent.

Effect 2: "Mind Power" can be further strengthened through acquired training, but the upper limit still depends on talent.

Effect 3: If "Mind Power" is already possessed before touching, the crystal will further enhance this ability.

Effect 4: All beings endowed with "Mind Power" by the crystal will develop a certain entanglement, occasionally experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations of each other. Note: Blackening strengthens tenfold, whitening weakens by three points.]

"Pfft!" Marcus, who had just taken a sip of water, spat it all out onto the Shield's chassis in front of him. Coughing a few times, he didn't even have time to look at the wobbling, water-splashed Shield Bee. Marcus immediately fixed his gaze on the ethereal blue crystal depicted on the system panel. Then he took it out.

"Thud!" The several-meter-tall Telekinesis Crystal crashed onto the floor with a dull thud.

"I guess I've been an Emperor once, right?" Marcus mused, a smirk playing on his lips, referring to a term for exceptional luck in games. He then recalled his impressions of the movie "Chronicle." In the original story, the three protagonists were granted powers by this Telekinesis Crystal. Aside from the simplest telekinetic manipulation of objects, they could even use Mind Power to propel themselves, flying rapidly at speeds of several thousand meters. The protagonist, Andrew, after his mother's death and his own descent into darkness, could, at full power, shatter glass within a radius of several kilometers. This was even more exaggerated than units specialized in psychic energy, like the zoanthrope.

Without hesitation, Marcus immediately reached out and touched the Telekinesis Crystal before him. Instantly, a strange energy surged into Marcus's body. Even with Marcus's current formidable physique, he felt his vision go black and almost collapsed. Shaking his head, after regaining his senses, Marcus once again used his Mind Power. He effortlessly lifted the seven-to-eight-ton Telekinesis Crystal from the floor, suspending it a meter off the ground, and could even easily make it rotate continuously.
