Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE

Ava's POV

"I forbid you from ever going to see that boy. He's a nobody, and I would not have him affiliated with my family in any way." My father slammed his hand on the study table.

"Honey…" my mother tried to interfere but she was shunned.

"Don't you dare to interfere in this. What have you been doing? You should have been watching her. Not allowing her to do this nonsense. I'm not going to allow this. Over my dead body will I allow this nonsense to happen." My father insisted and finally sat on his chair.

"Father… I love Daniel so much. I have been watching him for so long. He's the kind of man that I want." I sobbed in between my words.

"He's a nobody. He's a cleaner. The least of the workers in my company is the person you have taken interest in. Have you lost your mind?" My father stood up again and left his chair this time.

"But he's hardworking, isn't that the best quality any man can possess?" I asked my father, and he shook his head.

"They are men who are willing to die for you. I have heirs and CEOs of groups and company all lined up asking for your hand in marriage." My father stated.

"And now you want to jeorpadise all of that for some guy who is nothing but a cleaner. Are you even listening to yourself?" My father asked me.

"But father, this is what I want. He's the one I love." I insisted and stamped my feet on the white tiled floor.

"You are my heiress, and I'm not going to let you ruin your own life. You will no longer see that boy, I don't care what it is you want. Talk some sense into your daughter. I'm not having this conversation again." My father retorted and stormed out of his study.

I stood there by the corner of the room, my head below my shoulder. Tears found way down my cheek, and I sniffed them back.

"Oh, darling. You don't have to do this to yourself. Your father loves you and wants the best for you." My mother said, wiping the tears off my cheek.

"Well if he truly loves me, then he will support my decision and not treat me in this manner." I interjected.

"I think your father is right. We don't know anything about that boy, so we don't trust him." my mother said, and I looked up at her in shock.

"You too? Fine… If not knowing anything about him is the problem, I will gather information about him and bring it to you. I hope you can support me then." I said and walked out of the room.

"Ana wait." My mother called after me, but I didn't answer her, I just walked along.

I got to my room and shut the door. I slumped on the floor and allowed my emotions to get the better of me. I brought my knees to my face and wept bitterly.

I love my family so much. I can't live without them, but I also love Daniel so much and would do anything to be with him. I can't live without him as well.

I feel so torn and confused. I don't even know what to do or where to turn. My phone chimed, and a message popped up. I stood up and picked up my phone from the bed.

Hello babe…..

It was Daniel who had messaged me. I smiled to my eyes, all my worries melting away. I grinned happily as I stared at the message like some fool.

I dailed his phone so I could speak and hear his voice. He picked up the call immediately, and his voice came on.

"Hello my love." He greeted, and I giggled, blushing with embarrassment as my face turned red.

"Hey Daniel, how was work today?" I asked him.

"It was good…" He replied casually.

"Sorry I couldn't call you. You know I have a lot of debts, and I'm trying to cut the bill a little." He complained, and I chuckled.

"It's fine, Daniel. I'm not complaining, I will take whatever opportunity I get to speak with you." I replied politely.

"I know that, but you are just a waitress, and you have your own needs too. I just feel so bad." He said.

"It's okay, I really don't mind." I assured him.

"So are you getting ready for your job? You are on the night shift, right?" Daniel asked, and I quickly jumped up to pick up my little calendar.

"Yes sure," I said after I had confirmed. I would hate for my words to be inconsistent.

"Then I should leave you to get dressed then, I will see you at the restaurant tonight." He said and ended the call.

I placed the phone on my chest and smiled deeply. My alarm clock rang, and I knew it was time for me to leave for my work.

Daniel doesn't know that I am Ava Sterling, the daughter and heir of the Sterling groups. He thinks I'm some waitress who works in a five-star restaurant.

So I spoke to one of my friends whose family owned the restaurant to help me. He allows me to come to the restaurant at any time, and I get to where the waitress uniforms.

He also allows me to serve some guests so that when Daniel arrives, he will meet me, supposedly working.

I laughed at the charade I had put on just so he wouldn't suspect my true identity. Which is one of the reasons why I'm in love with him.

Despite not knowing my family, he loves me just as much as I love him. But I wouldn't dare tell Father that. He would throw a feat if he finds out I'm denying my true origin and pretending to be a waitress.

As I dressed up and did my makeup in the mirror. My mind drifted to the first day I met Daniel.
