Chapter 3: The Web of Deception
Natasha didn't notice Thomas's intense gaze as they rode through the city streets. The adrenaline rush from the earlier incident still lingered, and she felt a strange sense of security with Thomas. When they finally stopped in front of her apartment, Natasha hesitated before dismounting the bike.
"Thanks for the ride, Thomas," she said, trying to sound casual.
Thomas nodded, his eyes gleaming in the dim light. "Anytime, Natasha. You're safe with me... for now."
Natasha's heart skipped a beat at the underlying threat, but she chose to ignore it. "I should get going," she said, turning towards her apartment building.
Thomas caught her arm, his grip firm but gentle. "Let's grab a coffee tomorrow. I'd like to make sure you're doing okay after what happened."
Natasha's instincts screamed caution, but Thomas's piercing green eyes seemed to draw her in. "Okay, sure. Coffee sounds nice."
Thomas smiled, his mark above his right eyebrow seeming to twitch with amusement. "I'll pick you up at 7 pm."
As Natasha watched Thomas ride away, she felt a shiver run down her spine. Who was this mysterious man, and what did he really want from her? She shook her head, chalking it up to mere curiosity.
Meanwhile, Thomas rode back to his mansion, a sinister grin spreading across his face. "Alex, how's the plan unfolding?" he asked, his voice low and menacing.
Alex, standing in the dimly lit study, bowed his head slightly. "The boys have been instructed to make Natasha's life... interesting. But, sir, are you sure this is the right approach?"
Thomas's eyes flashed with determination. "We'll play her game for now. Let's see how long it takes her to realize she's the pawn in my game of revenge."
The room fell silent, the only sound the soft hum of the clock ticking away, marking the countdown to Thomas's ultimate revenge. Natasha, oblivious to the danger lurking in the shadows, went to bed with a mix of excitement and trepidation, wondering what the next day would bring.
