As we were walking back to the inn, we ran into Luke and Hime.
The two of them came out of a narrow alley, and when I asked why they were coming from there, Luke answered that the alley was a shortcut to the guild in this city.
Well, if he says so, then that must be what happened.
"What did you get?" I asked.
"Hmm... Not much, maybe just the names of important people in Nakuso, and information about several adventurer parties that we might need later," he said while explaining beside me.
"I see? When we arrive later, I'll tell you both many things. Just so you know, Yuu-chan and I obtained a lot of new information, you know~ And all of it is very useful," I replied, slightly raising my tone.
"As expected of you, you always come back with a lot of new information," Luke replied while maintaining his walking pace.
—
As we had scheduled before, we would leave Bissura today.
After the four of us obtained a great deal of information yesterday, we discussed everything immediately upon arriving at the inn.
Thanks to that, Luke and Hime had already prepared several plans that might be used when we arrived in Chyvera.
But before our group left this city, I asked that we visit Ratina-san's shop first.
At the very least, I wanted to thank her again for helping us before.
Clap.
Luke and I stopped the horse carriage right in front of the flower shop.
Mona-san, who noticed that a horse carriage had stopped in front of her, immediately came out of the shop and realized that it was me again.
"Hero? You're already leaving?" she said.
Crack.
Yuu-chan suddenly came out of the carriage and walked cheerfully toward Mona-san, then held both of her hands.
The two of them already seemed like close friends. Amazing... Even though they had only met three days ago, their conversation seemed to flow very well.
"Oh? You're leaving today? I thought you had already left yesterday. You even went through the trouble of coming here again—does your party not have anything to do?" Ratina-san asked as she also came out of the shop.
Luke and I could only laugh softly at her words before replying.
"There's nothing wrong with visiting someone who has helped us, right? Besides, this is also part of your job list, you know," I said.
Ratina-san also chuckled after hearing my reply.
"Well, I have high hopes for all of you. When your names appear in the newspaper, that will mean you have succeeded," she said.
"Of course, at the very least the four of us will do our best to eliminate that illegal trade from Nakuso," I said.
Suddenly, Mona-san raised her voice and clapped her hands as if she had just come up with an idea.
She hurried back into the shop, and I could hear the sound of something like plastic being pressed from here.
There was nothing we could do but wait for her to come out again, even Luke looked very confused.
Hime also immediately opened her window. I think she was curious about what Mona-san was suddenly doing.
Less than a minute later, she came out again holding a bouquet of flowers in her hands. I didn't know what kind of flowers they were, but perhaps it was a mix of the many flowers in the shop.
Their colors and shapes were different. Could it be that she intended to give that to us? Wow, she really wanted to make Yuu-chan happy.
She handed the bouquet to Yuu-chan, who accepted it without any refusal.
"This is for you, Yuu-san. I want you to accept it," Mona-san said.
Yuu-chan looked at the flowers before smiling at Mona-san and thanking her.
She returned inside after finishing her business with the girl. It seemed it was time for us to leave.
"See you later," I said.
"Don't forget your promise, okay? I can't wait to see you standing in Chyvera's palace," Ratina-san said while waving at us.
—
Two days had passed since then, and for some reason nothing had happened during that time.
We should have arrived yesterday afternoon, but we decided to camp for the night, which was why we arrived in Chyvera today.
It wasn't a problem. The matters we had to deal with did need to be resolved quickly, but they weren't in a critical condition—or wait... could it really be that serious?
For now, we had already left our horse carriage at the adventurers' guild in this city.
Oh right, this city really is that large.
Even at the entrance gate, I saw how vast the capital of Nakuso was. From any side, we could see the palace, since it was located at the very center.
The palace was also built as if on higher ground, its height quite unreasonable even though it was only a palace.
Perhaps its construction was intentionally done that way so that anyone who saw it would know how powerful the palace was for Chyvera.
From that alone, I could feel how difficult it would be for us if we tried to gain the public's sympathy so they would protest against the royal family.
Oh, Hime and Yuu-chan had already returned from the receptionist. They had gone there earlier to ask for directions to a certain place.
"I already know the place. It's probably only a few minutes' walk from here. What do you think?" Hime asked me and Luke, who were standing in front of the notice board.
"No problem. After all, the only thing we can do is walk," I replied.
I thought I would find some major news that would widen the opportunity to dethrone the king.
However, most of what was posted here only talked about how strong and gallant Barbara, the current leader, was.
There wasn't a single piece of news that seemed to provide any rumors about her. Perhaps her subordinates had already suppressed anyone who tried to violate the government's rules.
There should have been at least one or two announcements discussing the movement of anti-royalist groups seeking to remove Barbara from the palace, but there was nothing of the sort here.
If that's the case, I think our plan will be very difficult to carry out, especially in convincing people that Barbara truly should be overthrown.
Well, we would think about it later when we gathered with that group. Hime already knew their location, so we immediately headed there without discussing anything further.
—
This city was no different from most cities we had visited before—crowded, and the streets were very noisy.
Perhaps the only thing that made it slightly different was that almost all of its residents were beast-men. Maybe that was the only difference from usual.
But aside from that, they were no different from ordinary humans. They only had different physical features, but inside they were the same as humans, perhaps just like other races.
"Oh, we've arrived, haven't we?" I said as I stopped in front of a three-story building standing on a plot of land surrounded by a boundary.
This place looked like someone's private residence with authority over a large area of land. It looked more like an ordinary house than the headquarters of an anti-royalist group.
But... I'm sure there must be another reason why their headquarters was built in a place like this.
But why... This place felt very quiet. I had expected many guards here earlier. Could they all be working somewhere?
"Hime-san, is this really the place?" Luke asked, doubtful of the building in front of him.
"There's no mistake... The receptionist said this was the place. We won't know until we go inside," Hime replied.
That meant the only way was to check it directly, huh? Hah... Why do I feel so uncertain about this? Maybe it's just the wind...
