Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A dream or a nightmare

"What I am want to do to check my altitude?" Shiva asked.

"For that, you want to touch it," Mr. Happy said.

He picked up something covered with a red cloth and pulled the cloth away. It was a crystal ball.

"Wow, it's beautiful, Mr. Happy."

"Young master, please touch it."

Shiva reached out and placed his hand on the crystal ball.

"Nothing happened. That means I have no aptitude."

"Mom," Shiva said. "What does this mean?"

She said nothing. She was frozen in a smiling position.

"Mom, what happened?" he said, getting off her lap.

"Mom," he tried to talk to her, but she was frozen.

"Mr. Happy, see what happened with Mom," Shiva cried. "Mr. Happy..."

He was also frozen.

"What is happening?"

Suddenly, the surroundings started disappearing like fog. Everything began to turn black.

"What is this happening? Why is everything disappearing?"

After some time, he stood in total darkness. Then he started glowing. His body began to grow. The light broke like glass, and after that, something changed. He realized his body had changed. He had turned back into his past life's body.

"Marsh..." A thin sound came from behind him.

He turned back.

"Wooooooooo"

He started falling into the darkness.

"What do you think, Marsh? Your parents died in an accident? It's totally wrong," a thin sound whispered in his mind.

"My parents"

"Marsh," someone called sweetly.

"This voice is familiar."

He suddenly opened his eyes.

Pant... pant...

"What's happening?"

He was sitting in a chair in front of a dining table.

"Marsh, why are you not eating?"

A man and woman also sat in chairs in front of him.

"Mom... Dad?" he thought. "What's going on? That was a dream, right? That was all a dream."

"Marsh, why are you not eating?"

"Nothing, Mom."

"So why are you crying?"

"I am crying?" he asked. He realized his eyes were wet. He wiped his eyes and then, everything disappeared.

He was in a place like space. He saw things like galaxies.

"What's going on?"

He turned back. He was suddenly in shock, because something big was behind him.

A giant shadow of a man. It was very giant, more than galaxies.

"He is coming. He destroy everything. Only you can stop it. Adopt dark," a thick voice came from the shadow.

"This pain! My brain! My brain will explode!"

Ha... pant... pant...

He snapped back, and everything returned to normal. He looked around and saw the crystal ball. It was completely black.

"Congratulations, my Lady and young lord! You have an aptitude," Mr. Happy suddenly said, standing with curiosity.

Seraphina gave a fascinated smile. "It's very big, happy news, Shiva! You have an aptitude... Shiva? What happened?"

Shiva was still thinking about everything that had just happened.

"Shiva."

"Oh, nothing, Mom."

"Are you sure? Your face is pale. Are you okay?" she said, checking his forehead. "I think your temperature is normal."

"Yes, Mom. Everything is normal."

"Okay, so congratulations! You have an aptitude."

"Mom, what kind of aptitude is it?"

"Oh, it's Dark Magic. And as I said, it's the rarest of all three."

"Black magic? Mom, Dark Magic is not bad magic?"

"No, son. Who said Dark Magic is bad? Even people consider it the strongest aptitude of all, and you know Kaelen, who is called the strongest in our current time, also uses Dark Magic."

"So it's normal? Okay, fine. Okay, fine. I want..." Shiva began, but Seraphina cut him off, her eyes shining with excitement.

"Hey Shiva, for your Magic core confirmation, I've decided to organize a banquet! And I already told your father about this; he was also happy."

"Dad? I don't know..."

"Yay, he's also happy! He's always concerned about you in his letters."

"I've never seen my father in my whole life because he is the High Captain of the army, the highest captain position. People say he is very talented; he became a low captain at the age of 18. He killed 5000 soldiers alone against the Veridia Kingdom. I am always afraid of him."

"So, Lady Seraphina, I am leaving now," Mr. Happy said.

"Mr. Happy, you must also come to the banquet," Seraphina insisted.

"Yes, Mr. Happy, you are also invited. I will send you an invitation for the banquet. You must come," Shiva added.

"It's my pleasure, my lady," he said, and then he left.

"Mom, I want to use magic," Shiva said, a charming look on his face.

"It's not as easy as you thought, Shiva. Just feeling magic takes a minimum of a year. So, you will need a teacher who can teach you about magic. And since you use dark magic, the rarest of all magic aptitudes, it's very hard to find a teacher for you."

"So, Mom, do nobles also teach magic?"

"Yes, my dear. Teaching others magic has considered sacrilegious."

"Okay, Mom," Shiva said just as someone knocked on the door.

"Come in," Seraphina said.

A maid entered. "My Lady, Lord Harzan has come to visit you."

"Oh, uncle Harzan."

"Okay, Shiva, go and play. I want to have a conversation with your uncle," Seraphina said.

"Okay, Muma," Shiva replied, and left the room.

He walked down the hall and rang a bell. A maid came inside.

"Yes, young master?" she asked.

"Give me mango juice."

"Yes, young master. Anything else you need?"

"No," he said.

The maid left.

"If I want to learn magic quickly, I need to do something," Shiva thought to himself. "Hey, I remember there was a library in the mansion. But I never went there because I hate studying."

A maid returned with a glass of juice on a tray. "Lord, your mango juice."

"Oh, thanks," Shiva replied, taking the glass.
