Five years already pass.
"Young master, please stop!"
Lilly, a maid, followed a child who was five years old. Now his name was Shiva. He was a mischievous blur of white hair and laughter.
"If you want to catch me, Lilly, you'll first have to be able to catch me!"
"No, young master, please stop!"
Pant... pant... She was panting hard, falling behind.
Shiva, born into the sun-stone middle-class noble family, was now the only child of the Xanax family.
"Hello, I am Shiva, and this is my second life. In my last life, I was just a normal Indian. But in this life, I'm a noble."
He turned a corner and collided with a maid.
"Young master, what are you doing?" she asked, surprised.
"I am playing with Lilly!" Shiva replied.
"Oh, so you're running from Lilly again."
"Oh, I have no time!" he said, and ran again.
Just then, Lilly arrived, still out of breath. "Hey, did you see the young master?" she asked the other maid.
"Why are you following her, Lilly?" the other maid asked.
"Lady Seraphina ordered me to bring him. It's hard to handle him as her personal maid."
"You are absolutely right. There's no time for this. Where did the young master go?"
"Oh, he went that way."
"Okay, thank you," Lilly said, and ran off again.
"Lilly is still following me," Shiva thought to himself as he sped down the hall. But the end of the hall was coming fast. Oh no, there is no way out.
Pant... pant...
Lilly was there, her chest heaving. "Finally, young master. There's no way out. Please come with me."
"Fine, Lilly," he said with a cute smile.
"He is so cute. No matter how much trouble he gives me, I am never angry with him," Lilly thought.
She took his hand and led him to a room. "Young master, my lady is waiting for you inside."
He opened the door. His mother was sitting on a sofa, and another man was standing in front of her. By his dress, he looked like a priest.
"Who is that guy?" Shiva wondered.
He went to his mother and sat on her lap, a childish habit he had decided to try. "Mama, who is he?"
"Oh, my dear, his name is Happy. He is the head priest of the Holy Temple."
"Oh, hello, Mr. Happy. Are you happy?"
Seraphina laughed internally. "Shiva, you don't have to make fun of other people's names," she said softly.
"It's alright, my lady. He's just a kid," Happy replied with a smile.
"So, Mother, why did Mr. Happy come?"
Happy answered, "I am here to check your magic aptitude, young master."
"Okay, so he came here to check my magic aptitude. Wait a second... magic?"
"Mom, you mean magic is real?"
"Yes, my dear. Who told you magic is not real? Everybody knows it is."
"No, I just thought..."
"So this world has real magic, like a fairy tale? Really? This means I can use it too?"
"But there is a problem," Happy said, breaking Shiva's dream.
"What, Mom?"
"It's only a possibility," she said.
"A possibility?" Shiva repeated.
"Yes. A magic core is very rare in nobles, and in commoners, it's nearly impossible. Only some high-ranking noble and royal families have a confirmed magic core."
"So this means if I don't have magic, I can't use it?" Shiva asked.
"Yes," Happy said, "but some other ways exist."
"You become stronger by other way. I will explain it to you in detail, but you are very small."
"I understand. Just tell me, Mama."
"Okay, so listen."
"There are three cores possible in a human inside."
"First is the Vardan Core. It produces Vardan energy, and it gives energy to the other two cores."
"Second is the Magic Core. I already said you about it. There are three types of magic aptitude for humans."
"1. Elemental Magic: With its help, you can create and control elements like fire, water, lightning, etc. You can control a maximum of 3 at a time. It is the most common aptitude."
"2. Light Magic: With it, you can create and manipulate light. You can heal people with your magic and you can summon fairies and spirits. They will help you in whatever you want."
"3. Dark Magic: It's the rarest magic aptitude of all. You can create and control darkness and you can even change the state of darkness. It also summons devils, but they don't help you in any condition like Light Magic. You have to make a contract with the devil."
