"Yo… Vegeta, big brother. Long time no see…"
By the time Betkas arrived at Frieza's spaceship in his spherical pod and walked into one of the rooms, he spotted the ever-proud Vegeta sitting there in deep thought. He immediately spoke up.
"It's you?!"
Hearing that voice, Vegeta's face instantly turned a little unpleasant. He stood up and glared at Betkas with clear anger in his eyes. Betkas looked back at the furious Vegeta and thought to himself, If you were your grown-up self, you might still have some qualifications… but right now, you're just a tsundere brat. Tsk, tsk… what am I thinking? Seems like after traveling through time, my brain's gone weird too…
"Huh? Nappa, you're here too?" Betkas suddenly noticed the bald kid sitting to the side. The young Nappa looked a little uneasy when Betkas walked in and respectfully replied, "Third Prince… long time… no see."
Looking at Vegeta and Nappa, Betkas absentmindedly asked, "So… the only surviving Saiyans are just the three of us?"
Vegeta froze. "What did you say?!" Nappa also stared in surprise.
Betkas sighed, clapped his hands lightly, and glanced around before speaking quietly, "Yelling like that—are you trying to die? Big brother, this isn't Planet Vegeta. This is King Frieza's spaceship. If they notice anything suspicious, we'll be dead. So don't shout."
The moment Betkas finished speaking, Vegeta swung a punch at him. Betkas' eyes sharpened, and he raised his right hand to block it.
"Don't order me!"
Those five short words were spoken with an icy tone. Betkas stared into Vegeta's sharp gaze, sighed softly, and said, "Hey… this isn't me ordering you. I'm looking out for you. You should know that on Frieza's ship, there are plenty of guys much stronger than us. Here, strength decides your place. Even if we are the so-called strongest warrior race in the universe, without strength, we're nothing."
Vegeta turned his head away with a cold snort. "Hmph! Just now, you said only the three of us survived. What's that supposed to mean?"
Nappa looked completely lost, glancing between the two of them.
Betkas, seeing that Vegeta had calmed down, began, "Just now… Planet Vegeta was destroyed."
"What did you say?!"
Vegeta's expression instantly changed, his eyes full of shock. Nappa also looked completely stunned.
Betkas repeated, "Planet Vegeta is gone. Everyone on it is dead except for us."
Vegeta's gaze wavered slightly, but he quickly steadied himself and said coldly, "Planet Vegeta's destroyed. What's that got to do with me?"
Betkas found this reaction strange. This guy… does he really have no feelings for Planet Vegeta? No… then why did he later want Goku's help to take revenge? Must be because he thought he was going to die back then, so he said that. Heh… cold outside, warm inside, as expected.
Nappa stayed silent, not sure what to say. Betkas also didn't speak, and the room fell into a heavy silence.
Several minutes later…
Betkas coughed a few times, pretending to be mature, and said, "If there are Saiyans who were sent to attack other planets, maybe they're still alive. Brother Vegeta, what do you say we go look for them in the future? After all, they're our most important survivors. With just the three of us, it'll be hard to restore the glory of the warrior race."
Vegeta gave him a disdainful look. "Restore the Saiyan race's honor? I alone am enough. I don't need any useless trash."
Betkas' face stayed blank. "Do you think you're a Super Saiyan or something? You don't need them? There are always people like that—full of themselves—and they're usually the first to die."
Even an idiot could tell Betkas was mocking him. Vegeta's face twisted with anger. "Say that again if you dare!"
Betkas didn't back down. "There are always people like that—full of themselves—and they're usually the first to die."
"You bastard!"
Vegeta, furious, instantly charged a ki blast in his left hand and fired it at Betkas without warning. Betkas coldly watched the blast coming at him and raised both arms to shield his face. The blast hit, triggering a small explosion. Smoke filled the room, blocking everyone's view. Vegeta's face was dark, while Nappa looked terrified—he couldn't even interfere.
"I told you… there are always people like that—full of themselves—and they're usually the first to die."
The cold voice came from within the smoke, making Vegeta's expression darken even more.
Betkas emerged, looking slightly battered but otherwise fine. He'd been through special training back on Planet Vegeta, not just daily practice but intense conditioning to toughen his body. That training gave him greater endurance and durability, which was why in fights with Vegeta over the years, he often came out on top.
"For the sake of your life, until you have the strength, keep a low profile, Brother Vegeta. There are plenty of Frieza's men who hate us Saiyans. Right now, we don't have the power to take them on."
Betkas spoke with a faint note of sorrow. Vegeta was slightly moved but stayed silent, still looking proud and cold. Nappa just stood there, still looking clueless.
