Chapter 9 - AFK

When they finished eating, Jenny gathered her plate without a word and stormed off to her room, the faint sound of her bedroom door clicking shut echoing down the hallway.

Debbie and Travis stayed behind, their plates pushed aside as the kitchen lights cast a warm glow on the two of them. Debbie leaned forward slightly, resting her elbow on the table and tilting her head with a smile.

"Want to watch a movie with me?" she asked.

"Sure," Travis replied without hesitation.

They lingered a bit longer in casual conversation before moving to the living room. The clock ticked quietly as the night wore on, and when midnight struck, Debbie scrolled through movie options on the TV.

"Oh, this one looks interesting. Tent. Sounds like sci-fi," she said.

Travis nodded, settling into the couch but keeping his eyes on the screen with quiet confidence.

"Travis, get comfortable, okay? I'll go change into something more suited for this arrangement of ours."

"What arrangement?" he asked, a bit confused.

She giggled, shaking her head lightly. "I mean we're about to watch a movie. I want to be comfortable as well."

"Oh, okay. Don't come out naked or anything," he said, looking down at his phone.

Debbie chuckled again. "Oh, you're still the shy Travis. I'll close the living room door so that Jenny doesn't hear us. Then again, I doubt she'd even come down at this time—everything she needs is in her room," she said, glancing toward the hallway.

"Alright then," he replied.

She smiled warmly, then headed off to her bedroom, her soft footsteps fading until they disappeared entirely.

---

A few minutes later, she returned wearing a silky gown that swayed gently around her legs. The faint scent of her perfume lingered in the air as she sat down next to him. The TV screen lit up their faces as the movie began.

They watched in silence, the occasional flicker of light from the screen reflecting in their eyes. After an hour, Debbie turned her head to see Travis slumped slightly, his eyes half-shut. His breathing was slow—he was clearly exhausted from his workout earlier that day.

Debbie laughed softly and reached out, tapping his forehead. His eyes snapped open briefly, and then—without warning—he leaned into her, pressing his head against her chest. Within seconds, he was out again, his face relaxed against her warmth.

Debbie's lips curved into a bright smile. Her fingers threaded gently through his hair as she stared down at him. She couldn't deny she was surprised—this kind of closeness hadn't happened since he was a kid.

Back then, he was small and oblivious to things. Now, he was a teenager who fully understood she wasn't his real mother, yet here he was, openly cuddling with her. She didn't know why, but it made her heart feel full.

' He's still as cute as ever. I can't wait to see you succeed, my son, ' she thought.

Eventually, both drifted off on the couch, the low hum of the TV filling the room as they lay comfortably—one on top of the other.

---

Morning Came

The soft morning light filtered through the living room curtains. Travis's eyes fluttered open, the faint warmth of someone beneath him making him pause. Looking down, he saw Debbie still sleeping. Her gown had shifted slightly in the night, revealing more of her curves than she probably intended.

He noticed the faint blush on her cheeks, and his eyes briefly darted lower—catching the sight of her breasts. A realization hit him like cold water: at some point while sleeping, he had actually sucked on them.

' I ain't Erik, ' he thought with a frown, carefully shifting off of her.

As he stood, he felt the familiar pressure of morning wood. Glancing down, he couldn't help but admit, ' …Bigger than in the game. Guess I'll use those inches responsibly. '

Without another look, he left the living room and went to his room.

A few minutes later, Debbie's eyes slowly opened. She blinked, taking a second to realize she was alone now. Her gaze drifted downward—straight between her thighs—and her breath caught. Her panties were damp.

Curious, she reached down, her fingertips brushing the wet fabric before pulling away, a thin string of slickness following her touch.

' That was… something. I'll definitely think twice before letting that happen again. But… it felt so good. No—he's your son. I think it's best to distance myself from him… a little, not too much. '

If Travis's charisma had been lower, she would've woken him the moment she felt it and been furious afterward. But instead, she found herself… conflicted.

---

She got up from the couch, stretching before heading into her bedroom. As she reached for her phone, it buzzed—an incoming call from her sister, Diane.

"Hey girl, what's up?" Debbie greeted as she stepped inside and shut the door.

"Hi. Yeah, well, I wanted you to ask Travis if he could help me with my garden, you know. I really need a strong man right now," Diane's voice teased through the speaker.

Debbie smirked faintly. "Oh, well, I'll tell him in a moment, okay? Should he come today?"

"Yes, that would be great. Alright, see you, girl. If you need any cucumbers, call me."

"Shut up, I'm not doing that."

In his room, Travis let himself flop back on the bed, the springs creaking under his weight. He stared down at his cock, still half-hard from earlier, and sighed.

' Man, I just had to suck a tits. Good thing she has 100% on motherly otherwise man I'd be on -10 affection for sure. ' he thought, shaking his head with a tired grin.

He reached over and grabbed his phone, idly scrolling, when a familiar chime from the Desire System echoed in his mind — that soft, mechanical ding he was starting to recognize anywhere.

[System Notification]

Affection +2% — Jenny's current affection: 9% → 11%

『11%』

Another chime followed almost immediately.

[System Notification]

Affection +2% — Debbie's current affection: 10% → 12%

『12%』

Travis blinked, sitting up a little straighter.

' Oh, I understand Jenny since I was kind to her yesterday… not sure about Debbie though. Maybe she was aroused, which would explain her blush. I don't understand it fully, but I'm happy that it went up instead of down though. ' he thought.

He leaned back, staring at the ceiling, the faint hum of the ceiling fan above filling the silence. His mind replayed the moment with Debbie — the way her eyes lingered a bit too long, the faint rise and fall of her chest as she tried to keep her composure. The memory tugged a smirk onto his lips, almost amused at how unpredictable this system could be.

' I think I kinda did enough. I'm honestly satisfied ' she thought, still remembering the subtle tension in the air.

Travis started his morning the usual way — a quick workout. The faint burn in his muscles from push-ups and sit-ups made him grin. Checking himself in the mirror, he noticed his body was a bit more toned now, the faint outlines of muscle starting to show. It wasn't much, but it was progress, and that was enough to make him feel good.

After a warm shower, steam clinging to his skin, he dressed and made his way downstairs.

Debbie was standing in front of the kitchen door, her hair slightly tousled as if she'd only recently finished getting ready. Her eyes flicked up to meet his, and for a moment she blushed — just a hint of color in her cheeks — before smoothing it over with a warm, practiced smile.

' I should put that past us. ' jo thought, tightening her grip on the dish towel in her hands.

"Good morning, dear. Are you hungry?" she asked warmly, her voice calm but carrying that softness she always had in the mornings.

"Yeah, I kinda am. What's for breakfast?" he asked, stepping into the kitchen and leaning casually back against the cupboards.

"Just some pancakes. Now eat up, okay? By the way, your aunt Diane called me this morning, asking if you could help her with the garden. What do you say?" she asked while flipping a pancake with ease.

"Oh, sure. I don't have much to do, honestly, so why not. For a fee, of course," he said with a small grin.

"Oh, don't worry, she'll pay you. Thank you, honey," she said, moving closer to hug him. His chin rested above her head now — he could no longer sink into her chest like he used to, and he realized with a faint, amused pang that he almost missed that.

Breakfast was warm and sweet, the pancakes soft and fluffy with just enough syrup to make him lick his lips after each bite. Once done, he grabbed his bag and headed toward the door.

' The day I've dreaded for the last two days. ' he thought, stepping out into the crisp morning air.
