Chapter 3 - a mystery to myself

"Elarin vos meritha,

Solen'kai driftara,

By wind and will, arise

"Stop it!" I manage to call out to my maid, just before she complete the spell a second time.

[Maid] "he's a wildling, mi lady

"He mean no harm, okay?"

My maid immediately calm herself as I assure her that Mica means no harm.

[Mica] "a wildling"? Really.

[Mica]"Yes, a wildling. Isn't that what you are?" my maid says, trying hard to hide her face from the naked Mica standing right in front of her.

[Maid] "The seal has been broken… how can this be?" my maid whisper, her eyes wide with dread as she searche in vain for the veil that once stood between Myrravelle and Lunareth.

"Only my grandfather would know why the seal suddenly vanish, but right now, I'm not sure if he can do anything about it, even if he knows what happen., for currently now, he no longer possesses the power of a druid, or maybe the seal broke, follow by what happened between my grandfather and the King.

[Maid] " we should return back to the palace mi lady.

[Mica]" you never said anything about being a queen Hazel"

"And still you didn't address me as your queen even after you found out"

[Mica] "goodbye mi lady" he says as he He drops to one knee, hand over heart, head bowed low in reverence. And right before our eyes, he transforms back into a werewolf and darts off across the boundary to Lunareth's side.

[Maid] "shall we,? Mi lady"

Where am I really going to, the palace? A place that has just taken everything from me in the blink of an eye.

It is already midnight. The rain has stopped, but the breeze is still blowing, so strong that I start to feel cold.

My maid is unable to help me in this cold situation, there's nothing she can give me, no warm blanket to cover me with, even she herself is soaked. so she came closer and wrap her hands around me and together we both start head to the palace.

We reach the palace after a long, cold walk, passing through closed village doors, it appears that everyone were still fast in their sleep just as the moment I ran out, and as I stare at the palace gate, I begin to wonder what fate awaits me the moment I take a step inside.

"I never really asked what your name was"

[Maid] "Reine mi lady , my name is Reine." She repeats.

"So, Reine, shall we?" I say, gesturing toward the tall iron gate ahead, she gives me a quick glance and then walks past, her steps steady despite the chill in the air.

Reaching the gate, she raise her hand and knocks firmly.

A brief silence follows, then the sound of metal bolts sliding echoes from within. The gate creaks open, revealing a solemn-faced guard who steps aside to let us through. Together, we step into the palace grounds, the air inside heavier with expectation than the cold night we leave behind.

I didn't take much further step before two guards seize me. Their grip firm, rough, and unyielding. I struggle, startled, but it's useless. Reine rushes forward, her voice trembling as she pleads for my release. "Please, let her go! She's done nothing wrong!" she cries, desperation rising in her tone.

But her words fall on deaf ears.

The guards pay her no mind. Their eyes are fixed ahead, their hands tight around my arms as they drag me mercilessly toward the palace main door.

I glance back at Reine, helpless, torn between fear and anger as the cold stone beneath my feet echoes with each reluctant step I take closer to whatever fate awaits me inside.

They succeed in bringing me to the palace, right before the king and the crown prince, both seated regally upon the throne.

The hall falls into a tense silence. Without a word, the prince rises, his eyes fixed on me with sharp intent. He draws his sword, the metal hissing from its sheath, and begins to descend the steps of the dais, each footstep echoing with a cold finality as he advances steadily in my direction.

What is going on.., this isn't the plan. I was to get married to the prince, which I did, and not only did they kill my grandfather, I too I'm about to loose my life.

The prince raise the sword above his head and then turn to his father for a go ahead signal , the king slightly nod in return.

The sword lift, steady in the air, its edge catching the reflection of the palace light. And as I kneel below it, dirt on my face, still on my wet clothes soaked from the rain . My chest rise and fall with sharp, shallow breath. I didn't beg. I didn't cry. I Just watch the blade, knowing it's the end.

But then something inside me breaks loose.

A low growl rumbles in my throat, not human. My fingers twitch, then curl nails darken, lengthen. I felt my spine arches back with a sick crack, bones shifting under my skin. My mouth opens in a scream, but it comes out as a howl.

Fur spreads up my arms. My eyes blaze gold. The prince stumbles back, too late. The sword comes down strikes my shoulder and shatters against my skin.

Gasps ring out. the prince rush back to the throne.

Where I once knelt, a werewolf now stand, shoulders heaving, claws dripping. I blink, confuse, chest rising with heavy breath. I don't know what is happening, but one thing is certain I am no longer human .

I charge at the prince without hesitation, but before I reach him, a sudden magical force slams into me, it's the king. My body jerks to a halt, frozen by the invisible power. I don't try to fight back. Whatever is happening to me, I'm still new to it… confuse, overwhelm. Without thinking, I turn and begin to run, racing out of the palace as fast as my legs can carry me.

I run towards the palace gate, and at first it was lock but as I howl continuously, out of fear and confusion the guards open the gate and I dash out.
