My whole body feels numb, with excruciating pain shooting through my legs. They feel weak, and I can't stand on them, they aren't responding.
I stare at the bed I'm lying on. where am I? I ask myself, my vision still blurry, yet I glance at every single thing in the room. It looks nothing familiar.
As I continue to glance around, my eyes catch sight of someone sitting close to me. I must have missed him while scanning the room. I blink, trying to get a clear view of the person beside me, but it takes time before everything starts to come into focus.
And there he is, eyes locked on me. His silver hair, like strands of moonlight, spills over his shoulders and chest. His eyes gleam with a color I've never seen....,deep, mesmerizing, almost unreal. His build is strong yet graceful, the kind that speaks of both power and danger. Whoever he is, no one this breathtaking could be entirely human.
"Hazel," he says, his tone soft and calm. As he repeats it a second time, I realize I am the one he's calling.
"Hazel?" I stare in confusion. Who is this Hazel, and how are we connected? The questions swirl through my mind as I struggle to make sense of it, still lost in thought, when he suddenly storms me with more questions.
"How are you here in Lunareth? And your maid?" he asks.
"Maid, Lunareth"?
"Yes, you both..." He pauses, staring at me now in confusion. "Can't you remember?"
"Remember what"? I said now looking even more confused
"I saved your life last night, remember? You were about to commit suicide," he says.
He saved my life last night...,meaning I've seen him before. How is it possible that I could meet someone this beautiful and then forget? Yet I can't remember anything he's talking about.
Without speaking, I shake my head, still confused. Just before he can say anything more, a lady enters the room. "Mica, Quit troubling the lady," she says from a distance as she approaches us.
"Oh, his name is Mica. Oh, what a name. I just can't help but gaze at his marvelous features."
Mica stands up from where he is, allowing the lady who walks in to take his position.
"Remember anything yet?" she asks, her fingers brushing my cheek like a whisper of moonlight, her white hair cascades in shimmering waves, catching the Ray of light in the room as if spun from the moon itself. Eyes like a winter sky hold both wildness and wisdom, and her beauty is the kind that feels ancient.
"Remember what? What is it that I must have forgotten and need to remember?" I think to myself. Right now, all I can remember is that I am a being, so I just shake my head.
And just then, another person walks in, but this time the aura feels different. He is tall, and apart from his hair color, fierce look, and broader shoulders, he bears a striking resemblance to Mica..,this has to be Mica's father.
And as he walks closer, each step he takes is like that of a king. With his hands folded behind his back and without saying a word, he stares at me.
I can't quite read the meaning behind his stare, the way he looks at me as if expecting me to confess something.
He then shifts his gaze to the lady I believe to be his wife and Mica's mother, a look that seems to say, Let's go out and talk. Then they both step out, leaving just Mica and me in the room.
Mica, still in the room, only stares at me in silence while his parents talk outside. I can't hear what they are saying, only faint whispers reach me.
After a few minutes, his parents return. His father walks toward me, and somehow, I feel a flicker of fear at the way he approaches. Something tells me that whatever he's about to say won't be good for me.
"I'm afraid you'll have to leave. Your presence brings uneasiness to my people, and the fact that you don't even remember anything bothers me. Maybe when I take you back to where I found you, you'll be able to get a glimpse of what happened to you," he says.
At this point, I don't even know what to say. I just keep quiet and wait for whatever my fate will be, and just as he is about to continue speaking, his wife interrupts.
"You said there are people who seek her, and something tells me you'll only be endangering her by taking her back. You were kind enough to save her, please, rethink your decision," she says.
"And what do you suggest we do with her? With the seal gone, she could be anything right now..,a spy, or even worse. Remember, her kind deals with magic; this could all be a plot," he says.
"Instead of taking her back, I suggest we take her to Fenrath Oracleborn. Maybe he can do something about her lost memory, and if, after that, nothing meaningful comes out of it, then you can do whatever you decide," she says.
Right now, I don't know which side to support. All I know is that Mica's mother speaks and judges like a mother looking after her child, and I am that child. Her husband, on the other hand, whom I now believe to be a king, is only protective of his people.
"So get her ready, we'll leave immediately," he says, and then walks out of the room. Mica joins him afterward, leaving just me and his mother in the room.
Oracle it is, and whatever happens there will decide whether I leave or stay. And if leaving will bring back my memory I'm also willing to go.
Right now, I'm just a lady without a memory..,I can't even remember my own name, where I'm from, so whatever they'll decide I'll accept.
