"Then? Aren't we supposed to go through all of this?" Waylen groaned, tossing the notebook across the table.
"This actually freakin' sucks." He added under his breath.
"Yeah, but it's not like anyone has a laptop, we need—" Rexine started, but was cut off rather shortly.
"So actually, I do have one.." Axelle interrupted. "Then what do we do about the notebooks?" Chirstian asked, picking up the book Waylen had thrown. He opened it, flipping through the pages, careful not to damage it. Before he closed it, something caught his eyes. An illustration?
"Is this..—?" He just stared at it for a good moment before speaking up.
"Yo.. What the heck is this?" He shoved the notebook into Perry's view, as she snatched the book.
"Murks…" Perry whispered under her breath, reading the information under the illustration. "Spirits?" she mumbled.
"..They're the spirits of the zombies.." she paused, flipping through a page. "Or at least that's what they state here."
Nicole stepped forward, glancing over Perry's shoulder.
"How come we can see them, then?"
"It says only when a murk allows itself to be seen." Perry pointed at a sentence.
"It's only a hypothesis, but the solution would be to find the cure for this apocalypse." Nicole stated, eyes on the book.
Waylen made his way forward, dragging Maverick along. "Dude! Guys, look at this!" He yelled out, holding a picture in his hand. He approached the group, showing them it. "Isn't this Lorrell and Ty?" he asked, shoving the picture into Perry's hands.
She froze. No way, right?
"That..—" she started, unable to finish her sentence.
"Isn't that the picture we saw before? Inside that room." Ruby said, inspecting it closely.
".. It's me..?" Perry managed to mutter out, her voice barely above a whisper.
"You…?" Axelle repeated, making sure she heard correctly.
"Yeah. That's me."
"Child you?" Christian asked.
"I hope." Perry replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Great." Perry practically groaned, leaning back against her chair.
"I thought your biological parents died?" Axelle asked, a bit confused.
"No, no, no. Those were my.. foster parents. I wasn't old enough to remember who my biological parents were." she explained, running a hand through her hair.
"So you're telling me they're your.." Ruby's voice trailed off. "No way!" she exclaimed, eyes widening.
"You do got Lorrell's hair.. and Ty's eyes. 'nd your personality matches with Lorrell." Eli spoke up, observing the photo.
The group sat in stunned silence. They were still going through all the documents that they had stolen. And one thing that didn't seem to add up; traces of the organisation. And now Lorrell and Ty. Nicole had confirmed the symbol they saw earlier on the map was indeed the organization's. Which could only lead to one conclusion.
They were behind this.
Nicole rushed to claim that the organization never had anything to do with creating the apocalypse, since after all they're also just teenagers. But to the group— mainly Perry, it was unconvincing. She still couldn't possess herself to trust Nicole fully.
"What could Lorrell and Ty possibly have to do with all this research and stuff?" Waylen huffed, getting annoyed with not many leads.
"From what we know so far.." Ruby spoke up, walking up from her seat to the front of the table.
"Murks are the spirits of the infected zombies. And the only solution stated in the information is to find a cure to this.. apocalypse." she spoke, earning a nod from Perry who was holding the book.
"And there are two types of zombies. Type A and B?" she glanced at Perry, just to make sure she got it right. When Perry gave a small nod, she continued.
"The oblivious type and the aware type? Polar opposite types. The oblivious types can't see, but can hear. Aware types can see, but can't hear. At all."
She leaned back against the wall, a serious expression playing on her face. "We need to find Lorrell and Ty. Right now."
"Before that—" Axelle interrupted, "We have to take a look inside that damn USB." Indeed they all were quite curious about what was inside. And so Axelle ran off to get that laptop she swore she had.
"Here." She proudly placed the laptop on the desk, inserting the USB.
"Files.. files.." she murmured as she tried finding it, dragging the mouse.
After she had found it, she played the first video labelled as; "Day one.".
Dead silence filled the room as soon as the video started. Ty, next to a locked up half-human, half-zombie.
Lorrell's voice was heard on the back, instructing Ty and pointing places. As shocked as they all were, Perry couldn't help but scoff, in pure anger.
How could they just pretend like nothing ever happened? Considering the video, Perry didn't need any more to know they had been behind this. But to be more rational about it, Christian pressed back and played at least 10 other videos. All in day order. The progress of a zombie becoming the creature itself was horrifying enough. The fact Perry had to process she might be related to them was worse.
"What the sh*t?!?" Christian cursed, pausing the video. "They're the ones behind this?!"
Rexine was about to say something, before she noticed something on the paused screen. She pointed, unable to use words. "Isn't that Emily?"
"...It is." Perry finally confirmed. "So they're working together? The whole time? Great. Just freaking amazing!" She yelled out, frustration getting the best of her. She abruptly stood up, slamming the laptop shut.
"We have to go." she stated firmly.
"Where? To do what?" Ruby asked, sitting down.
"To them. We.. we have to do something about this."
"We need a plan, Perry." Axelle answered.
"Sorry, but I think I gotta agree with Ax on this one." Waylen agreed, rather reluctantly.
"The organization needs you, Perry. It's for the better. For us all." Nicole stood up, grabbing Perry's wrist.
