DAVINA
"Nothing!" I said sharply and I turned around like a robot, straight to the car while the boys followed after me.
They immediately knew to stop talking and not say anything else while Darius stood back, with his intense gaze on us.
"Do you think he suspects anything? Did I act up too obviously?" My eyes darted, while my back was stiff as a rock.
The next second, Ethan wrapped his arm around my shoulder, squeezing it slightly to ease me up.
"Don't make it any more obvious…"
The slight raise of his lips and the calmness in his eyes made me relax. He was always mischievous, but then, he had realized the importance of keeping a cool stance at this point.
As he ushered me into the car, Darius caught up with us and he stared straight at me through the car's mirror.
However, with my fingers wrapped around Ethan's, I stared back at him, while I spoke.
"Aren't we going to school anymore, Darius? Hurry, we will be late."
