I let out a shaky breath as two guards stepped out from the car first and then followed by a clearly strong man who looked to have seen a number of battles.
His eyes were sharp with an unsettling aura around him, however, he let out a smile and in the blink of an eye, everything went calm.
He suddenly didn't look harmless, but deep in my heart I knew this was a camouflage.
But then, Darius stepped forward, meeting him halfway.
"I didn't know you would be coming out this way, Alpha."
Alpha Damian glanced away from Darius and looked straight at me. The next second, I had my head down for a moment, unable to meet those eyes.
"I figured you wouldn't want to bring her. I was right."
Darius immediately protested, "It's not what you think—"
However, his guards pushed Darius to the side and he almost stumbled on the side of the road. I had the Alpha coming for me and it seemed every step he took was a storm incoming.
And still, I wasn't able to raise my head.
