Chapter 10 - Yours? Prove It

🌹Chapter 10 –

I stood frozen, palm still tingling from the slap I'd just delivered.

Jace didn't flinch.

He didn't even look back.

He just walked — slow, purposeful — like he hadn't just shattered me with three stupid, selfish words:

"You're mine."

What gave him the right to say that?

What gave him the right to sound so... broken?

I blinked, Damien's voice barely registering behind me. Something about "Are you okay?" or "He's not worth it." I couldn't tell. I didn't care.

All I could see was Jace's back, vanishing into the blur of neon lights and pulsing music.

And I did something I never thought I would.

I chased him.

Out the door. Into the cold night. Past the line of drunk strangers and the security guard lighting a cigarette.

"Jace!" I shouted.

He didn't stop.

"Jace, dammit—turn around!"

He did. Slowly. His jaw was clenched, his expression unreadable.

"You slapped me," he said.

"You called me yours."

He stepped closer. "You are."

"You don't get to decide that," I hissed. "Not after everything. Not after leaving. Not after—"

He kissed me.

Hard.

No warning. No hesitation. Just lips crashing into mine like a storm. His hands gripping my waist. My fingers curled into his shirt before my brain caught up.

I should've pulled away.

I didn't.

When he finally stopped, we were both breathless.

"Then don't say it," I whispered. "Prove it."

His eyes darkened, lips brushing my ear.

"Oh, angel," he said. "I plan to."
