"Please, sit." The woman offered as she walked into the house.
The house wasn't that big. It was a single room with a bed off to the side, another corner made up the kitchen area, and a smaller space that served as the toilet and bathroom.
Though it was technically just one room, it felt bigger than it looked, almost like two and a half rooms stacked together, making it slightly more spacious than expected. There were no chairs, so Max sat on the bed, which he didn't mind one bit. His gaze followed the woman as she carried the foodstuffs into the kitchen area and set them down.
Then she grabbed a cup, filled it with water, and walked back toward Max. She handed it to him, her hand trembling ever so slightly. With a calm smile, he received it, but of course, he brushed his hand against hers again. The touch made the woman's skin prickle, and she quickly clenched her thighs together.
