Chapter 25 - Wizard's Law

With the assistance of Deep Blue, Hellagur can save a lot of time in constructing spell models. He can just let Deep Blue do it and wait for the results and use them directly.

"After being here for so long, this is the first time I've encountered a Deep Blue mission that requires time."

Deep Blue had always produced results in seconds for all the tasks Hellagur had performed before.

In his mind, a spell model built with mental power was being constructed.

Originally, this process needed to be completed by Hellagur himself, which required a high level of mental control of the human brain. He also needed to constantly think, calculate parameters and formulas during the process, which required extremely high intelligence.

According to "Level Zero Spells: Detailed Explanation of Partial Petrification," it takes an average person one to three months to complete the construction of a spell model. The human brain is prone to errors, and if there's even one miscalculation, the entire construction process must be rebuilt from the ground up.

Deep Blue only needs twenty-five minutes, without making any mistakes, and is 100% accurate.

Twenty-five minutes later.

"The model construction of the zero-level spell Petrification has been completed."

In Herag's mind, part of the spell model of petrification has been constructed. Now he only needs to input magic power into the model and then activate it with the spell.

The casting of some spells requires the combination of spell materials, such as the Bloodborne Curse that Malcolm used before.

Some petrification spells act directly on the caster himself and do not require additional casting materials.

"Partial Petrification!"

Hellagur channeled his magic power into the model while reciting part of the incantation to activate the petrification technique.

His right palm immediately changed, and the surface turned into a stone-like grayish white.

Hellagur touched it and found it was very hard.

He clenched his fingers and found that they were not stiff, could still move freely, and could still feel the touch.

"It seems that the defense has been greatly improved, but the original function has not been affected." Herag came to the conclusion after the experiment.

The petrification of some parts of the body by petrification magic does not turn that part of the body directly into stone, but only greatly improves the surface defense.

Maintaining partial petrification requires continuous input of magic power into the spell model. Once Herag stops inputting magic power, the partial petrification will be automatically lifted.

"Deep Blue, how much magic power does the partial petrification technique consume?"

"Based on the current magic power, partial petrification consumes 1% of magic power per second."

This consumption was still a little beyond Herag's expectations. All the magic power in his body could not last for two minutes. No wonder the red-haired man used it up immediately.

Thinking of the red-haired man, Hellagur picked up the ring again. He felt it necessary to go find Claude.

He hadn't mentioned before that he had magical items because it was impossible to trust him 100% when they first met.

Although it is a relationship between teacher and student, they both know in their hearts that it is just an exchange of interests, and this is just an investment for Claude.

He didn't want to get into unnecessary trouble because of a demonized item that made others greedy.

But I still have to ask now. There is no information about wizards in the library, so I can only ask Claude.

Northentan College.

"This ring looks like a keepsake." Claude observed it carefully with a magnifying glass.

"A token?" Herag remembered that his pocket watch was also a token, and he could use it to join the Six-Ring Tower.

Claude put down the magnifying glass and said, "A token is a common recruitment method used by wizarding organizations. They will give tokens to those who have made contributions to the organization. As long as these people's descendants have the qualifications, they can directly join the organization with the token without taking any tests."

"Does it have to be a younger generation?" Herag asked.

"No, that was just the original intention. But later on, the token may have been circulating in the world for thousands of years. In this case, who would know whether you are the descendant of an old friend? Later on, as long as you have the qualifications, anyone can join the wizarding organization with the token." Claude said slowly.

"Can you join the wizarding organization without a token?" Herag continued to ask.

Claude smiled and said, "Of course. The normal process is to transport qualified people by ship to take the test, and then be selected by people from various wizarding organizations. If you have a token, this step can be skipped, and the ship will take you directly to the corresponding wizarding organization."

"There are advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that you don't have to worry about not being selected, at least you can join a wizarding organization. The disadvantage is that the wizarding organization you join may not be strong. There are gains and losses."

Herag hesitated for a moment, but decided to ask, "Teacher, have you heard of the wizarding organization called the Six Ring Tower?"

Claude stroked his beard and fell into deep thought. Then he said, "I don't know of any wizarding organization called the Six-Ring Tower. It might be a wizarding organization deeper in the Carragher Continent. You can only check it out when you go there yourself."

"I understand, teacher. Have you heard of the Glorious Calendar?" Herag continued to ask.

Claude was very surprised. "You actually know about the Glorious Calendar? The Glorious Calendar is a period of history that has been lost. Only some books contain some records that cannot be verified. Currently, no one can prove its existence or non-existence."

Herag felt a chill in his heart. It was just as he had guessed.

The era in which Nicholas lived has passed for too long, and it is likely that no news about the Six Ring Tower organization can be found.

Right now, this ring is the only way to join the wizarding organization stably. It would be very beneficial for me to skip a testing step.

He suddenly thought of the teacher the red-haired man had mentioned, so he asked, "Are there often ships transporting wizard apprentices? Are there so many wizard apprentices on the Coulson Continent?"

Claude shook his head. "There are very few on the Coulson Continent. There might only be one every few years, or there might not be any for ten consecutive years."

"Many wizard apprentices who once sailed out were never able to become official wizards in their lifetime, and many of them would return to the Coulson Continent when their lives were about to end."

"If these old wizard apprentices come across a child with wizarding talent, they will often take him in as their apprentice, train him for a few years, and then send him aboard."

"There are also people like you who accidentally obtained a magical item and happened to have the qualifications, and they often board that ship."

"There's an invisible attraction between wizards. Qualified individuals with magical items can easily embark on the path of wizardry. Just like you holding this ring, and then meeting me, and me showing you the way to board the ship, it's all fate."

"Even if you didn't know me, you would eventually come into contact with the wizarding organization through other channels."

"This is also the meaning of the token's existence. It will always bring fresh blood back to the wizarding organization."

"That's what I learned about the wizard's law of attraction."

This was the first time Hellagur heard this. It turned out that wizards were attracted to each other.

He thought of Red Hair. There should not be many wizard apprentices in the entire Coulson continent, but he happened to meet one.

According to this law of attraction, places with many wizards will have more and more of them, and places with few wizards will have fewer and fewer of them.
