Chapter 27 - Getting on Board

"Are you the wizard apprentice preparing to board the ship?" asked the man in the black hood.

"Yes, sir." Herag could feel the other party's powerful magical aura, even when the other party was intentionally restraining it.

"Is there a token?" the hooded man continued to ask.

"Yes." Herag took out his ring.

The hooded man took the ring and examined it in his hand. "Hmm, a token of Moonglade. This is the second time I've seen this ring. Come with me. Since we were delayed earlier, we'll only be here for one day."

"The second time..."

Herag thought of many things and guessed that the first time should be with the red-haired teacher.

It seems that the hooded man must have been on this ship many years ago.

"I'm leaving." Herag turned around and said goodbye to the three people.

"Take care!" Emil walked up to him and gave him a big hug, and Melissa also came over and hugged him.

"Let's go." The hooded man urged impatiently, turned around and left first.

Herag put on his backpack, took the package from Emil's hands, and quickly followed the hooded man.

"My name is Dino, and I'm a first-level wizard from Dream Island. There are five floors on the ship, and you apprentice wizards live on the third and fourth floors. The conditions there are a bit worse, but they're safer than up there. The sea is very dangerous, so don't go up there unless necessary."

While Dino was leading the way, he was also telling Hellagur some things to pay attention to on the ship.

"Mr. Dino, how many wizard apprentices are there on the ship?" asked Herag.

"Including you, there are eleven in total. There are two people from Coulson Continent, including you. We will stay here for a day and see if anyone else comes."

Herag followed Dino onto the deck. When he actually stood on the deck, he found that the deck was even more spacious than it looked, almost like a square.

Most of the people on the deck were busy sailors, as well as five or six young boys and girls standing by the ship to enjoy the breeze. They all looked about the same age as Hellagur.

When Hellagur stepped onto the ship, they all looked at him, then glanced away. They seemed to be used to it; wherever they went, there would always be new wizard apprentices joining.

Dino turned around and warned, "Try not to cause any conflict on the boat, do not affect the boat's navigation, and do not cause any damage to the hull, otherwise I will throw you overboard to feed the fish."

"Understood." Hellagur nodded.

"Follow me." Dino walked down the stairs and entered the cabin.

Herag followed him down, his feet on the wooden stairs making a creaking sound due to age and disrepair.

As soon as we entered the cabin, the light dimmed. There were white lamps hanging on the wall, and the light source was white stones.

The aisle in the cabin was a bit narrow, and Herag noticed that the wood used for the walls of the aisle was a bit special, with a metallic luster.

He reached out and pressed it, and found that the wood was very hard.

Dino noticed Hellagur's actions and said without turning back, "This is wood from the Forbidden Magic Forest. It is the hardest wood known and has extremely high resistance to magic."

"Forbidden Magic Forest..." Herag tried to input a little magic power into the wall, but found that it was blocked.

The two did not stop on the first floor. They walked down the stairs on the first floor and came to the third floor.

"The rooms on the third floor are full. You can only go to the fourth floor."

Herag glanced towards the corridor and saw lights on in several rooms, while some seemed empty, probably because they were sleeping or out for a ride on the deck.

The fourth floor was narrower than the third floor, and there were fewer rooms for people to live in. Herag counted that there were only five rooms for people to live in.

Dino brought Herag to a room, took out a bunch of keys, took one from the top and opened the door. "You can live here. The conditions on the fourth floor are a bit worse, but having fewer people is also a good thing, less conflict. You are a first-class apprentice, right?"

"Yes."

According to the records in the Starry Sky Meditation Method, Herag needs to meditate on six stars before his mental strength can reach the requirements of a second-class apprentice.

The average person has one to two points of mental power before meditation. Based on this estimate, Herag believes that the standard mental power for a second-class apprentice is seven to eight points.

After getting confirmation, Dino said, "Then it's quite suitable for you to live here. There are second-class apprentices on the third floor, and there are more than one. You should be careful."

At this time, there was light in the room opposite Hellagur.

Dino introduced, "The other side is also from the Coulson Continent. We landed at the last port. That's it. Don't cause any trouble and just wait quietly until we get ashore. The second floor is where we eat. If you're hungry, go there by yourself. Try not to come to the deck. I don't have the energy to take care of you."

"Well, I understand, Mr. Dino." Hellagur said politely.

After giving these instructions, Dino left, looking quite busy.

Herag looked back at his hut. It was pitch black inside. He searched the wall for a while before he saw a light.

This lamp, like the ones in the corridor, consists of a white stone and a glass cover.

There was a small gate under the stone lamp. Herag pushed the gate up and the lamp lit up, emitting a soft white light.

He pulled the gate down again and the lights went out.

"What kind of stone is this..." Herag studied it and found that the structure of the lamp was very simple.

A base, a gate, and then the main body made of white stone and glass cover.

"The secret should be inside the base." Herag felt a faint flow of magic inside the base, but he couldn't take it apart to see. He didn't want to be thrown overboard to feed the fish.

When the lights came on, the room became brighter, and the narrow room gave Hellagur a surprisingly warm feeling.

There was a single bed in the room, and the distance between the bed and the wall was only one person's width, just enough for Hellagur to stand.

There is a wooden board on the wall opposite the bed, fixed to the wall with ropes, which can be pulled down to serve as a small table.

There are two cabinets at the top of the room where you can store luggage and other things.

Herag put his package in it, and Emil and the others prepared some pickled meat, dry food and other food that could be stored for a long time.

After putting the package away, Hellagur lay on the single bed for a while. The bed board was relatively hard, but it was still acceptable.

There was a thick quilt on the bed. Herag reached in and touched it. It was a little damp.

Knock knock...

There was a not-so-urgent knock on the door. Herag looked at the small map and saw a person standing behind the door. Judging from her figure, she was a woman.

He opened the door and saw a girl of about sixteen or seventeen standing at the door. She had long golden hair, delicate features, and looked at him with a kind smile.

"noble?"

Herag saw that she was wearing a light golden dress and a silver-grey coat decorated with a circle of golden tassels. This was the standard attire of an aristocrat, and not just an ordinary noble.
