Chapter 7 - Cheating

It was a dark and windy night. Hellagur was moving quickly through the forest, with Sean following closely behind.

His speed was faster than Hellagur's, but in the mountains and forests, the trees and other things obstructed his movements.

"Damn it! How come this guy is so familiar with this place!" Sean cursed inwardly.

Herag was moving at full speed throughout the whole process, as if he knew exactly what was behind every tree. If you didn't know him, you would think he grew up here.

More importantly, while moving forward, Hellagur suddenly turned back and shot an arrow.

The timing of each shot was extremely precise, just when Sean was about to burst into speed, a sudden arrow came at him, forcing him to twist his body to dodge, and in the blink of an eye, he had distanced himself from Heragha again.

This made Sean feel as uncomfortable as if he had eaten a fly. He was also a little puzzled: "Is this such a coincidence?"

After this happened several times, Sean finally couldn't stand it anymore: "Go to hell, kid!"

"An unknown energy burst has been detected within the opponent's body. Expected increase in Strength by 7, Agility by 1, and Constitution by 5."

whoosh!

Herag felt a chill on his back. It was the first time he heard a person moving at such a speed could make such a sound.

"Dodge to the left and front!" Shenlan gave a hint.

Hellagur didn't hesitate at all and rushed towards Sean just as he dodged him, but the dagger in his hand missed.

"Huh? How is that possible!" Sean was very surprised that his extremely confident fatal blow was actually dodged.

Herag sped up again and felt that his speed had reached its limit.

Sean used special means to greatly improve his physical fitness, and his current speed is simply incomparable to Hellagur's.

"Lower your body and roll forward!" Deep Blue gave another prompt.

Herag immediately followed Deep Blue's instructions. Completing these evasive maneuvers while moving at high speeds required a high level of physical effort.

At this time, the benefits of practicing the Earth Breathing Technique were reflected. Herag insisted on doing the breathing exercises every day, and he had already gained control over his body.

Sean's dagger brushed past Hellagur's head, a strand of hair fell down, and he missed again.

"There's something strange about this kid!" Sean couldn't believe that a kid who wasn't even a knight could dodge his fatal blow twice in a row.

"Dodge and hide behind the tree on the right, draw your sword and block from behind!"

Hellagur did as he was told, dodging behind a tree while holding his sword behind him.

bite!

There was a crisp sound of metal collision. Herag looked back and saw that Sean's dagger had actually pierced through the tree trunk and hit the sword. The violent collision made Herag's sword-holding hand a little numb.

Seeing this, Sean was surprised and asked, "Why does this guy always seem to know what I'm going to do in advance?"

He thought, theoretically, this is possible. Because every time he attacks, the muscle strength and movements of his entire body will change. If he can observe this in advance, he can predict his own attack method.

But this all happened in a flash, and this kid was running forward the whole time without looking behind him. How did he know all this?

"Block the front with your sword!"

clang!

Sean suddenly appeared in front of him, holding a dagger and rushing towards Hellagur's face.

But this attack was predicted again, and Hellagur blocked the blow with his sword.

"Damn it!" Sean was a little exasperated. It seemed like this kid saw through every move he made.

"Wait!" Sean's breathing suddenly became disordered and he held his forehead in pain.

Herag breathed a sigh of relief. "It's finally working. I thought this poison had no effect on you. Your explosive attack just now must have accelerated your blood flow, so the poison took effect faster."

"That arrow is poisonous..." Sean thought about it and realized that he had only been hit by an arrow once.

There are two kinds of arrows in Hellagur's quiver, one is an ordinary arrow, and the other is a poisoned arrow.

The poison comes from an inconspicuous grass outside the castle. The grass is dark blue and has been tested. Its roots are dried and distilled to produce a colorless and odorless poison.

As an assassin, Sean is also an expert in using poison, but this poison is colorless and odorless, and there are no symptoms when the poisoning is first detected, so it was not discovered.

This is a neurotoxin, and Sean's extensive exercise just now accelerated the onset of the poison.

"Go to hell!" Sean started to attack frantically with a dagger. He understood that only by killing Hellagur would there be a chance to find the antidote.

However, his strength was greatly reduced due to the poisoning, and each of his attacks was easily blocked by Hellagur.

"I have to escape." He felt his breathing become short of breath, and his hands and feet were no longer able to move freely. If he didn't escape, he would die at Hellagur's hands.

Sean stared at Hellagur intently, then disappeared into the darkness. As an assassin, he had many ways to escape.

Herag stood there and smiled, then calmly bent his bow and arrow, aiming at an open space not far away.

call out!

Sean appeared with a scream, an arrow stuck in his back.

With Deep Blue's precise calculations, even Sean in his prime would have to concentrate to avoid Hellagur's arrow, not to mention Sean who was now poisoned.

"How did you find me?" Sean's tone became calm at this time. He already knew his fate.

Herag said nothing and drew his bow and arrow again.

Sean stared straight at Hellagur, neither dodging nor dodging. In fact, his legs had already lost all feeling. He said in a deep voice, "Why do you always dodge my attacks? You're not even a knight."

Hellagur expressionlessly loosened the taut bowstring and said, "Because... I'm cheating."

His words and the arrow entered Sean's head at the same time, a flower of blood splattered out, and Sean fell on his back on the ground.

Before he died, his eyes were confused: "What does... cheating mean..."

These two obscure words were put together, and Sean never understood their meaning until his death.

After Sean fell to the ground, Hellagur shot him with two more arrows. Only after Deep Blue confirmed that he was dead did he slowly approach the body on the ground.

"So poor?"

Herag searched everywhere and found that Sean did not have any gold coins, let alone a copper coin.

The only thing Sean has on him that looks good is a pair of daggers, nothing else.

After getting rid of Sean, Hellagur carried a long sword on his back, held a long bow in his hand, and looked quietly into the depths of the forest, as if thinking about something.

After a moment, he chose to return to the direction where Emile was.

He remembered that Jimmy and his companions had already run out under his cover, probably to the castle to seek help.

But it takes six days to travel from here to the castle and back, so it's simply too late.

No matter how strong Emil is, he probably can't deal with two knight-level masters alone, and there are people outside who are watching and shooting arrows at him.

He moved quickly through the mountains and forests, his black figure like a ghost, swift and silent.
