The door creaked open, and the low hum of chatter in the biology classroom died instantly. Chairs scraped the floor as students straightened in their seats.
"Good morning, students," came the calm voice of Mr. Banner as he stepped in, his eyes scanning the room before locking onto the boy with an earring sitting quietly at the last bench.
"Welcome to Forks High School, Mr. Lucas Brightsun. My name is Mr. Banner — your biology teacher," he said warmly, his smile genuine.
"Thank you, sir," Lucas replied, with smile on his face, bright and disarming.
That smile sent a ripple through the room. Several girls exchanged glances, their minds buzzing with thoughts Edward didn't want to hear. The sudden barrage made him grit his teeth.
"How handsome… "Bella thought, her eyes lingering on Lucas.
Edward's gaze sharpened, jealousy flashing in his golden eyes as he sees her reaction and glare at Lucas. But Lucas didn't flinch. He didn't even look his way — just focused on the lecture as though Edward's glare didn't exist.
Lucas, however, wasn't just listening to Mr. Banner. Beneath the surface, he was listening to them — the hushed conversation between Edward and Bella.
"So… Edward's already been to Alaska to get his… appetite under control. And today's the day the accident happens. The day he saves Bella", Lucas thought, his expression unreadable." I'd better be ready. This might look like a movie… but here, it's the real world."
And in case you're wondering how I could hear them? The truth is simple — they were close enough, and my training has made my senses sharper than most could imagine. Every day of Sun Breathing has honed my body further — stronger muscles, quicker reflexes, and senses that leave normal humans far behind. Not quite vampire-level… .
Without moving much, Lucas opened his Transparent World for just a few seconds, his eyes locking on Edward.
The sight that met him was alien — no beating heart, no rushing blood, only a strange fluid coursing through unmoving organs.
Edward stiffened instantly, as if sensing the scrutiny. His head snapped toward Lucas, but Lucas's gaze was already on the rain-speckled window.
"Who's watching me? "Edward's mind tensed as his eyes swept the classroom." Nothing out of place. No threat. …Maybe I'm imagining it."
"Is something wrong?" Bella asked, noticing his searching eyes.
"No. Nothing's wrong," he answered, masking the unease in his tone.
"Wait… I almost forgot." His gaze flickered. "Today… Rosalie's mate comes to school. Lucas.", He thought.
Meanwhile, Lucas let out a slow breath. "Good… he hasn't figured it out", he thought, the corners of his lips curling into a small, thrilling smile.

In the next classroom, Rosalie sat at her desk, her posture perfect yet her eyes distant.
Lisa, seated beside her, noticed instantly. "Rosalie, don't be like that," she said with a teasing smile. "Relax. As Alice said, you'll definitely see him today."
Rosalie's golden eyes lit up listening to her, impatience breaking through her usual composure. "Lisa… I've waited years for this moment. You have no idea how long I've dreamed about meeting him."
Lisa chuckled softly. "Oh, I think I do. And judging by your face, you're ready to walk through the door, search for him and drag him here yourself."
Rosalie's lips curved slightly, though her voice trembled with excitement. "Maybe I am."She says in low voice which can't be heard by normal ears, but Lisa is vampire and she can hear her pretty well and just smile on her comment.
