š Words That Always Turn Into Wounds
Episode 11: The Truth in Front of Me
The next day, Aaniya reached Suleman's office earlier than scheduled.
The receptionist informed her politely:
> "Sir will be free shortly. You can wait."
She sat quietly on the bench ā the same photo in her hands, and a storm in her eyes.
Just then, Suleman appeared.
> "Aaniya? You're hereā"
> "Yes, it's me. But today I'm not here as a client... I'm here as a woman who's no longer naive."
Suleman looked at the photo, then into her eyes.
> "You think I'm hiding something?"
> "I don't think anymore. I want to know. Who is Fariha? And why was that photo in my file?"
Suleman took a deep breath.
> "Fariha was my wife. We've been separated for a while now. But she came here the day I accepted your case⦠the receptionist took that photo then."
Aaniya stepped back slightly ā her heart a little lighter, though suspicion still lingered.
> "I've gotten used to the truth, Suleman⦠I won't tolerate lies anymore."
Suleman replied calmly:
> "Then the truth is right in front of you. The choice is yours now."
Aaniya stood up ā a little wiser, a little lonelier.
