Sunny sat on the porch sipping tea, he watched a girl with black hair go by, bringing the newspaper up to his face before she had a chance to glance at him. Once he saw she turned away, he lowered it only to be met with her eyes drilling into his head.
You must be wondering what was happening? Well, to sum it up, after coming back from the dream realm he bought a house using the credits he earned. Of course there was a lot more stuff he did, but those could be brushed off as Awakened "duty's". Of course, the reason he chose this house is because it was next to his sister's house. While she didn't know he was her brother, she did know that he was one of the people who saved her from that gate the tyrant came out of that one time.
Wait, why was he recalling this? Oh right. It's because currently his sister was drilling holes into his head before her eyes widened.
"It's you!"
He sighed before an awkward smile appeared on his face. He waved a stiff wave at her. God's he was so nervous, he needed to calm down. He had resolved himself and he already wasted enough time!
"Uh... yeah! It's... me...?"
She was still on the sidewalk, but he could see her smile also grew a little stiff. He had to say something, anything!
"So... uh... got any siblings?"
"I have a dead brother... I was a kid though so don't remember him..."
Damnation.
"That's rough buddy."
Damnation, Damnation, DAMNATION!
He would rather fight an army of tyrants! No, an army of titans! Cursed titans at that!
"So... where you heading?"
She instantly tensed up before shouting,
"School!"
So she's not heading to school. He could use this! A sly smile appeared on his face before he pointed at her back.
"Going to school with no backpack? That doesn't seem right now does it?"
Her hands rushed out to cover her empty back, but it appeared she wasn't very flexible as she strained her arms.
"Skipping isn't good you know! I think... I've never actually been to school but I know it's not good!"
She rushed onto the porch, slapping her hand over his mouth before looking at her house to see if her parents could hear.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!"
She spoke in rushed whispers. It was perfect.
He let out a small sigh before taking her hand off his mouth. A smile painting his face before he pointed to the back of him.
"From what it looks like you don't have anywhere to go, so why don't you come in?"
She backed up a step from him before her eyes narrowed.
"Do you think it's wise inviting a high school girl into your house, one that you practically just met, one that is in a vulnerable position, and one that is obviously easy to blackmail?"
He thought for a second before smiling.
"Yeah...?"
"Creep."
With those words they walked through the doors of his home. That marked a ritual for them.
On the rare occurrences that rain had skipped, she would find her way into his house.
