Chapter 3 - Camera Rolling.. and Action!!

As night fell, each member of the squad knew exactly where they had to meet.

Dev — the guy who was always late to everything — had decided for once to arrive early and prank the others. He giggled to himself, planning to scare them.

When he reached the main gate of the school, he was sure he was the first one there. But his excitement faded when he noticed someone already standing near the gate — a tall figure in a black hoodie, facing the school.

Dev squinted and walked closer.

It was Arjun.

"Hey, what's up, bro?" Dev called out.

"You're actually on time? Or maybe even early! You beat me — I wanted to be the first one here. Anyway, let's hide somewhere so we can jump-scare the others."

Arjun didn't respond.

Dev stepped even closer and reached out to shake his hand.

"Bro… are you listening?" Dev asked. "Are you daydreaming again? What kind of dream was it this time — about a girlfriend?" he smirked.

"But seriously bro, you're cool and handsome, you could easily get a girlfriend. People like me should be daydreaming — I'm just the squad joker."

Arjun turned his face toward Dev slowly.

"They are calling us..." he said in a flat voice.

Dev blinked.

"Bro, were you even listening to me?"

"No." Arjun replied coldly.

Dev's smile faded. His expression softened as a wave of sadness brushed over him.

Just then, he heard someone shouting his name from behind.

"DEV!"

It was Sameer — running toward them, followed closely by Aman, Rishi, Kabir, and Rohit.

Dev smiled again and said,

"What's up, bros? You all are kinda late! I was actually the first to arrive— oh wait, second. Arjun beat me this time."

Aman raised an eyebrow as he looked at Arjun.

"Wow, Arjun... since when did you become an early bird?"

Arjun stood there silently, arms crossed, eyes narrowed at the school gate.

"They're watching us," he said in a cold, quiet voice.

A sudden chill ran down everyone's spine. The atmosphere grew heavier.

Trying to break the tension, Rishi grinned and said,

"Hey guys, look! I brought my dad's old video recorder. I'm gonna shoot everything — if something spooky happens, we'll upload it on social media and go viral!"

Dev high-fived him.

"Hell yeah, this is gonna break the internet!"

Rishi nodded proudly.

"First, I'll film the school from the outside to set the mood — build that creepy horror vibe."

Aman replied with a warning tone,

"Alright, go ahead, but don't mess around. Meanwhile, we'll look for a way to get in. The main gate looks too rusty and high to climb."

Dev laughed.

"Yeah bro, if we try to climb that thing, we'll end up with tetanus shots — especially Sameer, the dumbest in everything!"

Everyone burst into laughter.

Sameer rolled his eyes but smiled.

Just then, Kabir glanced at the camera and raised a brow.

"Bro… are you sure that ancient recorder even works? Looks like it could expire any second. I'm questioning its quality."

Rishi smirked.

"Modern-day dumb people won't understand. Old is gold, bro. It's my dad's, not mine. And old footage always makes horror scenes scarier."

Kabir nodded.

"Nice point. Old-style footage does give more horror vibes… but hey, who the hell are you calling dumb?"

Rishi smirked again.

"Obviously, the person standing in front of me."

The two locked eyes and began arguing like kids.

Aman stepped in like a true leader.

"Guys, seriously? We're a team — or better, we're a family. So don't fight over nonsense."

He turned to Kabir.

"Say sorry to Rishi."

Kabir sighed.

"Alright, alright… sorry, bro."

Both nodded to Aman's words and fist-bumped.

With the tension diffused, they began walking along the boundary of the school campus, looking for another way in. Rishi stayed behind them, pointing his camera at the school building.

Suddenly, the video recorder glitched.

Rishi frowned and tapped the side of the camera, trying to fix it. But when he looked through the lens again… he froze.

Inside one of the classrooms, behind a broken window, stood a strange figure.

Pale. Thin. Red eyes glowing faintly. And it was waving at the camera.

Rishi immediately pulled the camera away and looked at the classroom with his naked eye — but nothing was there.

He brought the camera back up again — this time, the classroom was empty after seeing from camera.

He blinked in confusion. Then lowered the camera once more.

Suddenly — the same figure appeared right in front of him, grinning unnaturally. Before Rishi could scream, it vanished into thin air.

Rishi fell back and screamed in panic.

The rest of the squad rushed back toward him.

"Rishi?! What happened?" Aman asked.

Breathing heavily, Rishi explained everything — the glitch, the figure, the wave from the thing and how it disappeared.

Kabir, trying to lighten the mood, chuckled nervously.

"Damn... even the cameraman isn't safe. But wait, I thought the cameraman never dies?"

Dev laughed too.

"Bro, maybe that ghost also wants to be famous. That's why it waved at the camera!"

The two chuckled.

Aman crossed his arms and glared at them.

"You two better stop joking, or I'll personally send you to hell so you can join that ghost team — then you'll be famous."

Kabir and Dev straightened up immediately.

Sameer patted Rishi's shoulder to calm him down.

Aman looked around and said,

"We need to stay together. It's getting more dangerous than we expected."

Just then, Rohit came running to Aman.

"Bro! I found a way in. There's a part of the boundary that's lower than the rest. We can climb over it easily."

Aman nodded.

"Perfect. Then it's all set — let's go uncover the mysteries hiding inside this school."

Rishi stood up, gripping the camera tightly, eyes burning with determination.

"I'm gonna shoot the most legendary story ever. That's a promise I've made to myself."

Dev grinned.

"That's my bro. Don't worry — we're all in this together."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Rishi lifted the camera toward the squad, focused it, and whispered,

"Camera rolling… and action."
