Chapter 13 – In Your Dreams
Yuji knew it was a dream.
At least, he thought he did.
The room around him wasn't the subway anymore. It was somewhere softer. Warmer. A faint golden light spilled across a bed he didn't recognize.
And Ren was there.
Not watching. Not guarded.
Just sitting at the edge of the bed, leaning back on his hands, blond hair falling into his eyes.
---
Yuji swallowed. "This isn't real."
Ren tilted his head. "Feels real, doesn't it?"
Yuji's breath caught.
The bond hummed louder than it ever had, pulling him forward like gravity. He wanted to fight it. He tried. But his feet carried him closer anyway.
Ren didn't move as Yuji reached him.
Didn't move when Yuji's hand brushed his shoulder.
Didn't move when Yuji climbed into his lap like it was the most natural thing in the world.
---
"Stop," Yuji whispered, voice shaking.
Ren's hands ghosted over his hips, light, tentative, like he was giving Yuji a chance to run.
"You don't want me to."
The words echoed — the same ones Ren had said in the real world.
And Yuji hated that they were true.
---
The kiss was inevitable.
Slow at first, hesitant. Then deeper, hungrier, until Yuji couldn't breathe, couldn't think, couldn't tell if it was his need or Ren's consuming him whole.
Every touch burned. Every sigh blurred the line between pleasure and pain, between his desire and theirs.
The dream dissolved into heat and sensation — Ren's hands on his skin, his lips tracing every inch they could reach, the bond amplifying everything until Yuji thought he might break from it.
---
When Yuji woke, his chest was heaving, his body still trembling from the phantom heat of Ren's touch.
The subway room was dark. Quiet.
Ren was still beside him, asleep against the wall.
But Yuji knew — knew — he had been there in the dream too.
And worse…
Ren had wanted it just as much as he did.
