Elios knew that, to reach those truly high stages, one had to have different qualities: Talent, Opportunity and Inheritance!
His own talent wasn't too special, it was higher than average, but there were people who were born with sixth, seventh, eight or even ninth level meditation talent!
Compared to that, being called 'above average' was really generous. It was only because he had the Gate of Worlds that he developed more talent towards runes, and because he was a reincarnator, he also had a better learning talent.
The Gate of Worlds would probably be his largest opportunity all his life, but it was better to call it a semi-opportunity. If he just kept it, the only improvement would be his rune talent.
But the whole rune system has been realised, the greatest achievements of runeologists nowadays are to create rune artifacts and use them in various ways.
With his meagre strength, he couldn't reveal the gate. So, what should he do to advance?
As a reincarnator, he also had a certain strength in various fields that seem to be connected to different studies in his past, but he wasn't a technical college student at all, something that might've helped him.
No, he studied geoengineering… it was a relatively new study, at least the focus on it was new.
Generally, the focus lay on changing the environment, restoring forests and such. The most used school course was probably math.
Elios bet that this study would do well and he would get a secure job after he graduated.
Unfortunately, it never came to it.
Regardless, all his technical or theoretical skills were of high-school level. So, the influence of his reincarnation background was very low.
Even if he wanted to use his geoengineering, it wouldn't be possible. The wizard world was healthy and didn't have much need for such a profession.
The best way to use his skill would be in other worlds, to change the world, make it better for the people that inhabit in, or even just for himself to better make use of it.
In this case, it seems more and more obvious that his talent lays in exploring the worlds in the sea of stars. As for his opportunities – this was another matter. But, the chances of finding something in the sea of stars is probably higher than in the wizard world where every corner was already cleaned from repeated adventures of those ancient wizards.
Elios didn't have an inheritance for his main path, which is the combination of different paths, but for each of these paths, there is indeed an inheritance in the alliance, so he wasn't too worried about this.
…
Six days passed as Elios read the extra information in the three books. It wasn't much nor too important, but when it comes to knowledge, it's always better to have more.
Anyways, he didn't have much to do except for learning these and forming runes.
On the side, when he was really free, he started to do exercises of his past life.
It wasn't a lot, his young body couldn't stand it either, and just these few days wouldn't give any results, but he continued. There wasn't much else to do.
Today was the day the class would start again, and the day Elios would go up the tower.
In fact, he had already gotten a notification that his room was ready the day before, but considering it would only be one more day of wait, he calmed down and waited for this moment to say goodbye to his friend.
He might not be a peer, and their friendship wasn't really long, but since the other party considered him a friend, he too would do so, at least he could do some basic things such as telling them he would leave.
This way, he wouldn't have a slight feeling of guilt because he didn't tell them he would leave.
Anyways, it wouldn't cost him much time.
He left the room early in the morning and saw a few other apprentices already in the hallway, walking down while talking.
Next to his apartment dormitory, right as he opened the door, the other door was opened too.
Leo looked at Elios and greeted him, jumping forward and putting his arm around his shoulder "You woke up just now too? I hurried up to ready myself… alas, there's never enough sleep!"
Elios smiled, then shook his head "No, don't you feel anything?"
Leo who was about to walk down turned to Elios. It took him a moment to realise, especially since he had just woken up, his mental power low.
But in this closeness, he too sensed something weird.
He looked him up and down, the shock on his face becoming bigger and bigger.
"No way…" Leo said in exasperation "You… did you form your first rune circle?!"
"Well, just last week after our class, I indeed formed my first circle. Are you surprised?" Elios gloated a bit at his shocked face, it was funny to surprise people with great news!
"You! You didn't tell me at all!"
"You always sleep and catching you at a good time is difficult. Anyways, I had to wait until yesterday to get a notification that my apartment dormitory on the third floor was cleared.
It's better to tell you everything now that I leave."
"It arrived yesterday…?" Leo thought about it and the smile on his face brightened "Good, now you can go ahead and warm up the place for me!
Make sure to look around, so you can guide me when I enter the third floor!" he wasn't stuck on the topic much longer.
At such a young age, things like envy, jealousy and comparing yourself to others aren't strongly pronounced in people's personality.
Especially in a small group of young teenagers who all study day in and out, barely having any social connection.
For them, especially for talented people who also have five-star talent, forming a rune circle is only a matter of time, not a matter of doing it or not.
Maybe it was because Leo was special, anyways, he didn't feel any envy, only a bit sorry that he would be left alone on this second-floor dormitory, with no one else to talk to.
Elios nodded and said "No worries, I will wait for you on the third floor! Don't make me wait too long, else I might forget I have a friend like you!"
"You!" Leo looked a bit enraged, pretending to be angry at Elios.
The two joked a bit as they walked down.
Outside the dormitory, Leo calmed down and looked at Elios' back as he left.
"It seems I really have to hurry up… I didn't think this guy Elios would wait for me. It seems he isn't as casual and cold as he acts! Hehe, it's good to have a friend in this difficult tower!"
Leo chuckled a bit before turning away.
Although he looked naïve and was rather open about things, this didn't mean he was stupid.
He could see through Elios' behaviour, but Elios was really the only person he could befriend, so he tried.
Now that his efforts brought results, he was naturally happy.
