Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Final Gift

Chapter 1: The Final Gift

Raizen Nocturne sat at the dining table, opposite his father, Daman Nocturne. The room was dimly lit, and the silence between them was suffocating — the kind that made even shadows feel heavy.

Without warning, Daman slammed his fist on the table, shattering a plate. His bloodshot eyes burned with drunken rage.

"That woman — your mother — that bitch! I'm going to kill her!"

Something inside Raizen broke.

Without hesitation, he grabbed his own plate and smashed it against his father's face. The ceramic cracked on impact, slicing across Daman's forehead and sending him sprawling to the floor in shock.

"You... you dare hit me?" Daman growled, clutching his bleeding head.

Raizen stood tall, fists clenched, voice trembling with years of swallowed rage.

"You cheat on her. You come home drunk. You beat her like she's not even human. Not today. Today, I end it. This is my final gift to the woman who gave me everything."

Before Daman could respond, Raizen grabbed his father's arm and twisted — the snap echoed in the silence. Then the other. Daman screamed, his pride and pain spilling onto the floor.

"Please!" he cried, crawling. "I won't touch her again! You can take everything — money, property! I'm your father!"

But Raizen's eyes showed no mercy.

He stomped down, crushing his father's knees. The wet crack of bone filled the room. Then, without flinching, he knelt, jammed his fingers into Daman's face, and gouged out his right eye.

Blood soaked the floor. Daman howled.

The house remained quiet. Leira Nocturne, Raizen's mother, had gone out to visit a friend. No one else was home. No one to witness justice.

Raizen walked to the kitchen. He returned with a knife.

Daman, now trembling, his limbs shattered and body limp, choked on his own tears.

"Y-You're really going to kill me!? I'm your father! You monster!"

Raizen looked down at him.

"Then call this mercy."

The blade slid clean.

A head rolled across the floor, blood following its path like a trail of consequence.

Raizen picked up the head, his breath heavy, eyes filled with something between relief and sorrow.

"You were never a father. This… is for Mom."

He glanced at the clock. 4:30 PM.

"She'll be home soon," he whispered.

Tears welled up.

"I may never be good at studies… but I was a good son. This was my final gift."

Then, quietly, he walked into the kitchen, found the gas pipe, and cut it.

Twenty minutes passed.

Gas filled the home — a final silence.

He struck a match.

"Sorry, Mom."

The house exploded.

Raizen Nocturne was gone.

But death wasn't the end.

He opened his eyes to a place of endless white — a void beyond time and space.

"Heaven?" he muttered. "No… after what I did, I should be in hell."

Suddenly, a blue screen flickered into existence before him:

> Welcome, Player.

Raizen blinked. A crooked smile slowly appeared on his face.

"A system? Seriously?"

The screen continued:

> Welcome to the Infinite Verse.

This realm contains infinite universes, created from the collective imagination of your world — from novels, manga, manhwa, games, and the dreams of creators.

These universes are vast and dangerous. Each will test your strength, your mind, and your resolve.

Raizen narrowed his eyes, intrigued.

> If you become a multiversal-level being. Grow stronger, rise above gods, monsters, kings, and tyrants. Conquer verses, rewrite fate.

And if you succeed… you may return to Earth. To any timeline — past, present, or future.

Raizen's heart skipped.

"In any timeline… I could go back. Save Mom. Stop myself. Stop everything."

He clenched his fists, something new burning in his chest — hope.

Then, another screen appeared:

> Please select three abilities to begin your journey.

Raizen smirked. "This… is where my real story begins."
