Chapter 20 - The Birth of a first Magic Swordsman

In the quiet heart of the Originus Duchy's personal training ground, the sun bore down on cracked stones and hardened earth. The clashing of blades, the echo of footsteps, and the fierce roars of exertion had become daily sounds—ritualistic, almost sacred.

Chris stood tall despite the sweat glistening down his temple, chest rising and falling with controlled breaths. Across from him stood his mentor, the living legend—Duke Lionheart Originus, known across the Empire as one of the strongest knights ever born.

After an intense spar, Lionheart lowered his wooden training blade and narrowed his sharp, experienced eyes on the boy.

"You've broken through," the Duke said, voice steady, heavy with pride. "You're no longer a novice. Your body's constitution—far beyond normal—has pushed you into the Soldier Knight Realm."

Chris blinked, barely believing it. "Already?"

"Yes," Lionheart said. "It's not normal. Your birth body was built like tempered steel, and your energy… it's not mana. It's something purer—denser. This isn't just talent; it's like the world itself has chosen you."

Chris's heart pounded. A goal long buried stirred within him. "Grandfather… can I practice magic too? I want to be both—a knight and a mage."

Lionheart froze.

For a moment, there was only silence between the two. Then the old Duke chuckled dryly. "You want to master both power systems? Chris, that's unheard of. Knight cultivation strengthens the body and soul through martial force, while mages cultivate through mana cores formed by condensing elemental energy around the heart. They conflict. A body forged by knight mana resists magical resonance. It's not just dangerous—it's suicide."

Chris didn't flinch. "I still want to try."

"Even if it destroys your body?"

Chris looked him dead in the eye. "I was given this freedom ability which helps me to free things . If I stop here, I'll never reach what I was meant to become."

Lionheart stared at him, then sighed.

From his coat, he pulled out a deep blue magic stone—glimmering like a frozen star—and handed it to the boy. "This will act as a catalyst. Try to form the first magic star near your heart. But if the knight energy rejects it… your heart could rupture."

Chris took it gently and walked a few paces back. He sat cross-legged, breathing deep.

But as he began absorbing the stone's mana, the world trembled.

Inside his soul, he called out not to mana, but to something else. The power that had always slept inside him.

Freedom.

He willed freedom into his flesh, into his bones. His mind became tranquil. His body, instead of resisting the foreign magical energy, welcomed it. Something cracked—no, broke free inside him.

The knight's aura and the mage's mana merged—not in conflict, but in harmony.

A sound like a bell tolling from the heavens echoed.

Then the sky itself reacted.

Massive clouds spiraled into a vortex above the duchy. Thunder cracked with golden light. In the center, a star-shaped sigil appeared, glowing brighter than the sun for an instant before vanishing.

In the palace, in the far corners of the empire, even in the holy temple—people looked up in awe and dread.

"What… was that?" whispered a Grandmaster mage in the Imperial Tower.

"A phenomenon?" said the Sword Saint of the Eastern border.

In the south, an elven scout muttered, "No… a new force has awakened."

Back at the training ground, Lionheart stared at Chris, wide-eyed.

"You… you actually did it," he whispered. "You've become a Magic Swordsman… The first to be born since the founding of the Empire."

Chris opened his eyes—glowing with both deep violet light and piercing gold.

"I'm just getting started."

After that Lionheart brought some scrolls from ring and said

"You can practice these scrolls until I return from Southern battlefront and You must reach rank of spirit knight before I return , it will take at most three years "

Chris said with shocked expression

" Why so long ?? Southern front is very near "

And then his grandfather replied

"There is only one emperor rank person , the emperor ,so situation is not good and I will be stationed there"

Chris said bye to his grandfather and made a goal in heart that he will surely surpass grandfather ' s expectations.

And he then returned to training.
