Chapter 23 - The Awakening of a King

The battlefield was drenched in blood. Chris stood among the corpses of the Nether race, his armor torn, his blade soaked crimson, his eyes void of hesitation. Each swing of his sword was decisive, ruthless—he was no longer a child. He was a storm. A reaper cloaked in the colors of Originus.

But as the ground quaked beneath his feet, an unnatural cold swept through the air.

"He's here…" Chris muttered.

From the dense black fog emerged a towering figure. Clad in obsidian armor, his presence bent the very air around him—a King-rank Nether General. His crimson eyes locked onto Chris like a predator finally spotting its prey.

"I've sensed your life force across the battlefield," the general snarled. "So pure. So... alive. I must have it."

Back at the southern front, a scout burst into the command tent.

"General Hepton! A Nether General has descended onto the battlefield"

Hepton froze, his blood turning cold. "Mobilize all forces. NOW!" he roared.

The nobles joined instantly, speeding toward the battlefield. But halfway there, they stopped—frozen by a terrifying pressure.

"This aura... it's not King rank. It's... Quasi -Emperor level!" one noble gasped in disbelief.

At the heart of the battle, Chris stood his ground, blood dripping from his chin. His body was trembling, bones cracking under the strain of the pressure.

Chris felt tremendous energy from nether general , so he had only one chance ,he used all his pure, dense some kind of energy he used his ability of freedom to free him from magic sense and then

"I won't fall… not here!" he yelled.

Drawing his final breath, Chris raised his sword. Void energy crackled around him—Originus House's forbidden technique: Void Severance.

He slashed downward. The heavens roared.

A wave of absolute stillness engulfed the field as the attack landed, cleaving through the Nether General, bisecting him from shoulder to waist . The attack rivals that of an emperor. But the force rebounded—Chris, too, was flung back, crashing into the earth. Blood splattered, his hands broken and his bones could be seen . His consciousness faded.

"Chris!!" Hepton arrived a moment later, eyes filled with fear. He carried his son into the healing priests , where priests surrounded him, pouring holy energy into his wounds.

But nothing worked.

Suddenly, the holy energy was rejected—by Chris, but by something... inside him. Dark tendrils of Nether life energy began flowing into his body, drawn from nearby corpses of nether race and

Then inside his sea of consciousness

the stars twisted. He stood barefoot on a celestial plane. Three figures stood in the distance—two men and a woman. Their faces were obscured, yet something about them stirred his soul, he felt familiarity from them but then suddenly pressure erupted.

Before he could move, the sky above shattered.

A black hole emerged, devouring everything—and then, a flood of knowledge entered Chris's mind. A law, pure and ancient:

The Law of Nothingness.

Outside, five days passed. Chris had not stirred. Seraphina wept silently at his bedside, her voice trembling as she scolded Hepton.

"You promised to protect him! Look what your war has done!"

Lionheart remained silent, staring at his grandson. He had seen many prodigies... but nothing like this.

Suddenly, Chris's eyes snapped open.

A pulse of power erupted from him—rising like a tidal wave. The camp trembled. The sky flickered. Every knight, mage, and soldier turned toward the source.

"A King... a King rank aura?!"

"He's only ten… impossible!"

The stronghold fell silent in awe.

The emperor, seated upon his throne far away, gripped the edge of his chair.

"Chris of Originus… has reached the King Knight realm at age ten. A monster has been born."

The three ducal houses received the news and were left stunned. "If this is what he is at ten... what will he be in ten years?" whispered one duke.

But with the rise of a monster on their side came grim tidings.

Reports flooded in.

Demon Generals—beings of unimaginable strength—were crossing the boundaries. The Nether Race was mobilizing. The final phase of the war had begun.

And standing at its center… was Chris.
