Chapter 5 - chapter 5 ~

The other patrons who had been listening in on the conversation instantly looked at Fyar with shocked expressions. They were stunned that Fyar could have killed bandits from that organization.

Have they been eavesdropping this whole time? Why are they so shocked? Fyar thought.

"Y-you killed all four of them? How? Don't you have any magic?" Rasie's voice rose, unable to hide her astonishment. "Huh? I can't even feel any magical energy from you. A-a loser like you in those weird clothes?!?!"

Whoa, whoa, what's that supposed to mean? Is she praising me or insulting me? Pick one, you damn woman! And also, who are you calling weirdly dressed? Tsk, Fyar cursed inwardly.

Wh-who is he, really? I can't feel any magic from him! But he was able to kill four members of the 000 organization? Plus, he claims his power is sealed? What the hell is that? It was a good choice to approach him. Yes, I'll persuade him to join us! Zaefal mused to himself, a feeling of awe mixed with dread.

"You didn't know who you killed, Fyar?" Illya asked in a soft and calm tone.

Fyar shook his head, signaling that he didn't know.

Zaefal then explained, "They are the most dangerous criminal organization in this world. They often rob merchants. There's also a rumor that their weakest members, or what you might call their grunts, are at least level fifteen. I once fought one of their grunts... and it was incredibly difficult. I almost died. The bounty for one of the organization's leaders is four hundred thousand gold coins. The organization is called 000."

"How many members does the organization have?" Fyar asked.

"The exact number is unknown. By the way, did you bring their bodies? They can be exchanged for gold if there's a bounty on their heads," Zaefal answered.

"No, I left them," Fyar said flatly.

"I see... what a shame," Zaefal replied.

"How did you kill them? Do you have an artifact?" Illya asked.

Fyar nodded. "That's a secret."

"Hmph! It seems I underestimated a coward like you," Rasie said.

This woman... Fyar thought. He sighed, then said, "Alright, what was your purpose in approaching me and asking these things?"

Zaefal paused for a moment, then answered, "We want you to join our party. You see, the requirement to enter a level ten dungeon is to have a squad of at least four people. I've searched the entire city, but they all refused. Then I happened to see you with your strange style of clothing, and I could sense something... like you were a strong person."

Fyar was silent for a moment, thinking. A party, huh... a dungeon... but I don't have any powers... The reason I could kill those four bandits was because they couldn't see me and because of my shooting skills. If they could see me, I'd probably be the one who's dead... No, Fyar, that's too risky.... Yosh, I'll refuse until I can understand this world and am strong enough.

He then looked at Zaefal and answered in a flat tone, "I refuse. I don't have any power right now, and also the pist—I mean, the artifact I use requires a special material called a bullet. It's made of iron, and right now I only have a few left." Fyar sighed, then continued, "Plus, my identity and hero card are missing. After seeing your adventurer card, I'm guessing I need a card to go to dungeons and on adventures. Since I have no power and it's too risky, I refuse."

"But you killed four members of 000," Zaefal countered, unwilling to give up.

"That's because I was in a good position and also a little lucky. Besides this artifact, I have no other weapons, plus I have very little money left," Fyar said.

"Sir Fyar, I will cover those costs," Illya suddenly interjected. "Tomorrow, you can go to the weapon shop not far from here and buy the equipment you need. You can also try to make a custom model; it's possible the weaponsmith can create what you call a bullet."

I didn't think about custom making bullets with a craftsman... Hmm, that's a good idea. But yeah, that would be expensive too, Fyar mused. He then asked Illya again, "But that will be expensive, are you sure?"

Illya smiled, then replied, "It's no problem. I'm rich."

Is she bragging? Fyar scoffed internally.

"But what about the adventurer card and identity problem?" Fyar asked.

Illya chuckled. "I have an inside connection. You can get it made tomorrow, and it'll be ready in three days!"

Wh-who is this woman, really? Don't tell me she's a princess or a noble!? Fyar wondered, shocked.

"And as for the power issue, I'm willing to give you an artifact and also train you for the next week," Zaefal added.

"We will also pay you quite well," Illya said with a smile.

"Just accept it already, jeez! You have so many excuses!" Rasie snapped in a firm tone.

Fyar then coughed slightly and said, "How much is the pay?"

"One hundred and fifty gold coins," Illya answered.

"Three hundred gold coins and I'm in. Anything less than that, hell nah!" Fyar raised the price, hoping they would refuse.

"You insolent mushroom!" Rasie was a little annoyed by that, but Illya calmed her down.

"Alright~," Illya said in a gentle tone. "Tomorrow, I will take you to the weapon shop and get an adventurer card made for you. On Wednesday, you can start training with Rasie and Zaefal~"

Wednesday? So the system of days here is the same as on Earth... which means it's Monday now... Alright, getting free weapons and bullets isn't bad. And they said they'll help with my card issue. But this is too strange... I just arrived here and I'm already joining an adventurer's party... Oh well, no point thinking about it. Whatever happens to me has already been set... that's called destiny, Fyar mused.

He shifted his gaze to Zaefal and asked, "By the way, why are you so desperate to go to the dungeon? Aren't there plenty of other places for adventurers? To the point where you're willing to fund me like this."

"It's for leveling up, specifically for Rasie," Zaefal answered. "You know, killing monsters in a dungeon speeds up level growth. Also, the requirement to reach level thirty is to kill four level ten dungeon bosses on the same day. We want to get Rasie to level thirty as quickly as possible... And my level might also go up to twenty eight."

"I see... alright," Fyar replied.

"Thank you!" Zaefal said sincerely.

After that, they left, and Fyar returned to his room. He lay on the bed and thought.

What happened today was truly insane... from finishing a mission to being sent here... and immediately joining a party... Huff, destiny really is unpredictable... Alright, if this is my destiny... I'll live it... My short-term goal is to collect money, start a business, and then live peacefully... Yeah, that doesn't sound bad!

He then counted the total gold he had. It amounted to 207 gold coins. After that, he slept and prepared for tomorrow.

A few hours ago, in a kingdom called the Voils Kingdom.

A group of mages was drawing a complex circle on the castle floor. After that, they placed several artifacts on the drawing and began to chant a spell.

"I call upon you, a hero from another world, to save this world!!!" one of the mages declared loudly.

After they finished chanting, an incredibly bright light appeared in the room, followed by a small earthquake, the sound of thunder, and a plume of golden smoke. After a few moments, everything returned to normal.

"Nothing?" said one of the mages.

"Nothing! Where is the hero!? Did the ritual fail? What do we do? What!! The world will be destroyed if he doesn't appear!! What will become of this kingdom! Has our only hope of winning the war been extinguished? Don't tell me it failed!" The king of the kingdom was slightly shocked by what he saw.

One of the mages, who wore all-white robes, had short white hair and green eyes, answered calmly.

"The ritual did not fail, Your Majesty. It is just that the hero was summoned to another location. We must not perform the ritual again... because that would create an imbalance of power in this world... Your Majesty, I suggest we begin a search for the hero."
