Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Humiliated by her Beta Mate

‎Door opened. Rico turned back and reached to catch the person on the neck but he missed, and instead he got caught on the neck, stretched against the wall.

‎"Hello, twin brother! I can see you missed me. Something still hasn't changed about you, when would you ever welcome me peacefully, throwing away the drive for instant hostility, aside, uh? You know me too well. You be more afraid now than ever. What I have sniffed, felt, and devoured, the places my fours had been these past weeks should make you tremble beneath my feet, begging -"

‎"Leave him alone, I beg of you, Micha"

‎"Look who is on the sick bed, the Luna that will never be" Micha scoffed, and frees Rico from his grip. Rico falls to the ground.

‎"What do you want? Why are you here?"

‎"What I want? Brother, you can't give me what to want. I'm an Alpha, the most feared of all. So try again"

‎"Why are you here?"

‎"Better. Why am I here. Let's say there's something that's mine here in Rivalloo. I have come to take it." He said and sits on the sick bed with Riaha "Your eyes are sullen dear, have you been crying, oh yes you're.... Look at these once beautiful eyes. Brother don't let her cry herself to death because of you!

‎"You have nothing here in Rivalloo. You are just a sinful prodigal harem-driven werewolf. Father raised you well, but you chose the penniless part of profligacy. You are just another mockery of our existence aside this slut. " Rico chuckled.

‎"Says who? You? The only thing that gives you the right to talk to me as you do is blood. I really don't give a fuck if you're twin, I'll rip your fucking guts out if you try anything funny in regards to my coming to Rivalloo." He glared, and Rico fell silent for some moment.

‎"Cut me some slack. She deserves whatever treatment she gets."

‎"There's no way Riaha's at fault. You're the one who's wrong and should get the worst treatment in the world for being a horrible mate to her"

‎"Oh, darling, sweet Riaha, my Alpha brother thinks I'm horri -"

‎"Yes, you are horr -"

‎"No, he's not! He's not, please stop it, Micha. Rico isn't horrible. Please, he's the sweetest thing in my life. He's not horrible, no, he's not!" She cut in on Micha as she sobbed bitterly. Her mind refusing to accept Micha calling her mate a horrible person and yet she didn't realized she just screamed at an Alpha.

‎"Can you stop crying already?" Micha moved from the bed and stood beside the door. He reflex was more of care than anger as he finds himself pushing the hairs from her face and rubbing off the tears from her eyes.

‎"Beloved prodigal brother, you came late for the party and I don't care how you see things, but what I'm about to tell you doesn't make me a horrible person. Here's what you missed: I have nothing to do with her anymore. The mate bond is broken. She's no longer mine, and I'm not hers either." Rico laughed.

‎"Please, Rico... please don't do this to us!" I threw myself from the bed. I rushed over and knelt before my mate, clutching his legs while weeping uncontrollably. She reminded him of the good old days and all the beautiful things he once said to her.

‎"Hey, look here, weakling! There's no more 'us,' don't you get it? From now on, it's you and you alone. And me, myself, and I. You're free to do whatever you please with your miserable, ugly, annoying life. I don't give a fuck."

‎"Siah, sister, say something. I'm begging you. Don't let him do this to me, please, Siah." My weeping intensified. Siah's face was heartbreaking to see. For the first time, my sister looked utterly bewildered and stressed.

‎"No way! You can't do that!" Micha snapped.

‎"But I already did," Rico chuckled.

‎"Rico, try and consi -"

‎"There's no room for that, Siah!" he screamed at her.

‎"Try listening to what she has -"

‎"Ugh, Siah. I've endured far too long. I'm not reconsidering. It's over between your sister and me. It's OVER!"

‎"Give her one last chance, Rico. Please, for the sake of our pack," Siah pleaded, locking eyes with him. He glanced away.

‎"Stop acting like a dimwitted creature. What part of 'it's over' don't you understand? The mate bond is broken. She's free to move on with her worthless -"

‎"I can't move on without you, Rico... I can't. It's impossible for me" I whimpered, tightening my grip on his legs.

‎"You can't what?" he snarled. His baritone voice echoed through the window. Shock paralyzed me, and several items fell from the wall upon his raised voice.

‎"I can't move on without you," I managed to choke out.

‎"You seriously want to drag me down to live your worthless, bottomless, careless life? Is that your plan? To sink the next-in-line Alpha of the Waivers Pack?"

‎"Rico, my sister needs -"

‎"Stop! Stop it right there!" he roared, snatching a chair and hurling it against the wall. It bounced back, and he caught it.

‎"Tell me. Do you think this is a joke, you pathetic creature? Can't you see you're inflicted? And still, you're trying to infect me with your weakness. How horrible you are. I wish I'd seen it sooner... Gosh."

‎"I know you don't mean these things, Rico. You promised never to leave me no matter what. You promised me a world without pain, suffering, need, or desire," I cried, clinging tighter.

‎"Fuck those promises. This is reality, and I mean every damn word. So instead of whining like a defrauded whore, take my advice: remove these weak hands from me before I shred them to pieces." His ears twitched, nails popped out, and bones cracked ominously. Door opened.

‎"Micha, you need to come now. They found her."

‎"Where?" Micha asked.

‎"Found what?" Rico and Siah asked simultaneously.

‎"At Bisbrough Hills. The pack hounds traced her to an abandoned apartment in the woods."

‎"What is he talking about?"

‎"But there is a problem?"

‎"Say!"

‎"Your father-"

‎"What about the Alpha?" Rico and Siah asked with all enthusiasm.

‎"That man should stay out of my way!" He hits the wall with his fist and it cracks.

‎"From what our hound says, your dad's already gone ahead. Riaha, Siah, your parents are with him too. So also the rest of the pack is on their way." Hearing this Micha growled as his anger caused him to throw things.

‎"What should we do, Alpha? Call back or hound?"

‎"No!" Micha voice thundered.

‎"Tell the others, we leave right away" Micha said to the man, who quickly dashed outside, and Micha followed front behind jamming the door against Rico, Siah and Riaha.

‎"I think they meant, the Akaenia. They found her"

‎"What does he need the Akaenia for?"

‎"We clearly don't have much time. We should go and warn your dad and rest of the pack, Rico" Siah said with her hands rested on Rico's shoulder.

‎"You can't go without me! Please, Rico. Don't leave me. I'm begging you don't make me lose you. I won't survive it. I know I'm weak and useless, but tell me what to do. I can't live without you!" Riaha pleaded, before she knew it two nurses entered the ward. One of them prepared a syringe.

‎"Rico, Rico, don't! Take your hands off Siah!" Rico grabbed her and threw her on the bed, pinning her down as the nurse injected her. Darkness swallowed her instantly.
