Chapter 6: Applying to Join the Konoha Police Force
The Konoha Police Force Headquarters was a majestic building situated in the heart of the Uchiha Clan's territory. Akira took a deep breath before walking through the main entrance.
Inside the hall, several Uchiha Clan members, dressed in Guard uniforms, were busy at work. A young Guard member handling reception saw Akira enter and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
"What do you want, kid?" he asked.
"My name is Uchiha Akira. I'm here to submit my application to join the Guard," Akira replied, pulling a pre-prepared application form from his pocket.
"Uchiha Akira?" The Guard member paused, as if remembering something, and looked at Akira again. He had heard many rumors about this name within the clan recently. He took the application form and quickly scanned it.
"The regulations usually require an applicant to have the strength of an Elite Genin."
"I am aware of the rules," Akira responded, his eyes showing strong self-confidence. "I am confident in my strength and hope to get a chance for the assessment."
The Guard member hesitated, deterred by Akira's imposing aura. "An early assessment requires a recommendation from a Captain or higher. Or... you can demonstrate sufficient potential in a strength test."
"I choose the strength test," Akira said without hesitation. He had already clarified the procedure. The preliminary strength test was simple: it checked his Chakra amount and mastery of basic Ninjutsu. With his current strength as an Elite Chunin, he was confident he would pass.
"Alright, follow me." The Guard member nodded and led Akira to a small testing ground on the side of the hall.
Inside, a capable-looking middle-aged man with his eyes closed was leaning against the wall. He wore the uniform of a Guard Captain.
"Captain Tekka, this kid is Uchiha Akira, and he wants to apply for an early assessment," the Guard member said respectfully.
Uchiha Tekka slowly opened his eyes. His sharp gaze, like an eagle's, scrutinized Akira.
"Uchiha Akira?" Tekka repeated in a low voice, having some impression of the name. "Is he the kid who's been causing a stir in the clan recently?"
"Yes, Captain."
Akira's expression was calm as he met the man's steady gaze.
[Uchiha Tekka, Strength: Jonin (High-tier), Loyalty: 70% (to the clan), 5% (to the host).]
Akira understood that his reputation had already reached the ears of these high-ranking Guard members.
"Kid, assessments are not a joke," Tekka said. "If you're just relying on a little cleverness and luck, I advise you to go home. The Guard isn't a place just anyone can enter."
"Whether it's luck or not, we'll know after a test," Akira replied with a slight smile and full confidence.
"Haha! The kid has guts." Tekka looked at him and nodded with satisfaction. "Then let me see what makes you so confident."
Tekka pointed to a training dummy a few feet away. "Let's see your Chakra in action. Show me your most proficient Fire Release Ninjutsu."
Akira took a deep breath and quickly formed a series of hand signs.
"Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique!"
A ferocious fire dragon, composed of flames, roared from his mouth. It circled agilely in the air before precisely hitting the distant target.
Boom!
The target was instantly obliterated. The Fire Release was impeccable in terms of power, form, and precision.
Tekka's pupils constricted slightly. As a master of Fire Release himself, he recognized the nuance of Akira's Dragon Fire Technique. This was far beyond the level an ordinary Chunin could achieve.
The receptionist Guard member was dumbfounded. He had initially thought Akira was just an arrogant kid but now saw that he had serious skills, far surpassing his own.
"Very good," Tekka said. "Your strength indeed qualifies you to participate in the assessment. I've approved your application. The assessment will be in three days, and someone will inform you of the specific arrangements."
"Thank you, Captain Tekka," Akira bowed slightly.
"Don't thank me; the Guard only values strength," Tekka waved his hand. "I am quite looking forward to what kind of surprise you'll bring me in the official assessment."
Tekka's eyes showed genuine appreciation and anticipation. Akira nodded, said nothing more, and turned to leave. The preliminary test was complete.
Now came the real main event: the Guard entry assessment. He had to demonstrate strength that would convince everyone.
The Sharingan can be revealed, but its Genjutsu abilities, especially those involving mental attacks, must be used with caution.
For Fire Release, I can show control beyond that of an Elite Chunin, but I cannot fully expose my trump card of 'All-System Mastery'.
Taijutsu also needs to be controlled within the scope of an Elite Chunin, though I can demonstrate excellent combat awareness and reaction speed.
As Akira walked, he silently planned his strategy. The Konoha higher-ups, especially Danzō Shimura, were always vigilant toward the Uchiha Clan. Any Uchiha who appeared too "monstrous" would become a target for their attention and might even face assassination.
In fact, many outstanding Uchiha with great potential and awakened Bloodline Limits mysteriously died during missions. Akira did not want to suffer the same fate.
Power must be used precisely. Until he had absolute certainty, it was better to keep a low profile and develop stealthily. Once he was strong enough, even if he were to eliminate Danzō directly, the Third Hokage would not dare to retaliate.
