Chapter 9: Border Mission, Suppress the Rebel Ninja
It had been over a month since Akira joined the Guard. He quickly established himself in the First Squad thanks to his exceptional strength and steady performance.
"News has come from the Land of Fire's border: a group of about ten rogue ninjas has crossed the border and infiltrated the jurisdiction of Konoha Village."
Inside the mission hall, Uchiha Inaho sternly gave orders to several captains. "These rogue ninjas are ruthless and their strength should not be underestimated. Lord Hokage attaches great importance to this matter and has ordered our Guard to eliminate or capture this group of rogue ninjas within three days!"
"Tekka, this mission is entrusted to you and your First Squad." Inaho's gaze turned to Uchiha Tekka.
"Yes! We guarantee to complete the mission!"
Soon, the members of the First Squad were assembled.
"The target of this mission is a group of rogue ninjas whose strength should not be underestimated," Uchiha Tekka said to his team members. "Akira, you are responsible for reconnaissance and long-range Fire Release support. The others, follow the usual combat squad formation, three people per group, covering each other as you advance."
"Understood!" everyone responded in unison.
This was Akira's first time participating in a formal mission that required multi-person coordinated combat. The squad quickly left Konoha Village and sped towards the area where the rogue ninjas were last reported.
At dusk, everyone finally discovered traces of the rogue ninjas in a secluded valley.
"It's more than ten people; the intelligence is wrong." Uchiha Tekka frowned slightly.
"Captain, what should we do? Should we launch a frontal assault?" a team member asked.
"No, we are outnumbered, and the terrain is unfavorable to us. Wait a bit longer and retreat first. We'll act when it gets dark."
Late night. Akira moved silently, like a civet cat. He looked up; the sentry was yawning idly.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Three shuriken, arranged in a triangular formation, shot out with sharp whistling sounds. The sentry only felt a cold flash before his eyes and didn't even have time to raise an alarm before his throat, heart, and glabella were simultaneously struck. He fell from the tree without even having time to groan.
Almost at the same time, faint sounds of weapon clashes came from two other directions, quickly falling silent. The outer sentries had been dealt with cleanly.
"Well done!" Uchiha Tekka praised inwardly.
"Now, listen to my command!" A hint of killing intent flashed in Tekka's eyes. "We will assault simultaneously from three directions! Akira, you are responsible for large-scale suppression with Fire Release to disrupt their formation! The others, defeat them as quickly as possible!"
"Yes!"
With Tekka's command, ten Konoha Police Force members, like tigers descending from a mountain, charged toward the rogue ninja camp from three directions simultaneously.
"Enemy attack!"
The rogue ninjas in the camp were instantly alerted, grabbing their weapons and falling into disarray.
"Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!"
Akira quickly formed hand signs, and dozens of scorching fireballs, like a celestial maiden scattering flowers, rained down overwhelmingly on the most densely packed area of the rogue ninja crowd.
Boom boom boom—!
Screams, curses, and the clang of weapons instantly resounded throughout the valley. Akira's Phoenix Sage Fire precisely covered most of the rogue ninja camp, not only causing effective casualties but, more importantly, completely disrupting their formation, preventing them from organizing effective resistance.
"Kill!"
Uchiha Tekka led the charge, the three tomoe in his eyes radiating a bloody glow, and the katana in his hand gleamed with a chilling light. Each swing brought forth a spray of blood. The other Guard members were like tigers entering a flock of sheep.
However, just when everyone thought victory was assured, an unexpected change occurred.
Three powerful rogue ninjas suddenly surged from the crowd, their target directly Uchiha Tekka. The strength of these three rogue ninjas had all reached the threshold of a Jonin. The most terrifying thing was their seamless coordination. Although Tekka was powerful, facing the simultaneous encirclement of three Jonin, he instantly fell into a dangerous situation.
"Captain, be careful!" A Guard member exclaimed, wanting to rush forward to support, but was desperately entangled by several other fearless rogue ninjas.
"Courting death!"
The strongest rogue ninja leader's eyes flashed with a sinister smile, and the long blade in his hand transformed into a cold flash, striking toward Uchiha Tekka's head. Tekka's pupils constricted sharply. He wanted to dodge, but his retreat was sealed off by the attacks of the other two rogue ninjas.
At the critical moment!
"Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"
A clear, cold shout, like a sudden clap of thunder, exploded.
Roar—!
The three rogue ninjas could feel the terrifying power contained within this fire dragon and dared not meet it head-on, scattering backward to dodge.
Rumble—!
The giant fire dragon exploded where they had just stood, and the violent fire wave consumed everything around it.
Uchiha Tekka seized the opportunity to escape his predicament, looking with lingering fear in the direction from which the fire dragon had come. He saw Akira standing on a rock, his hands still in the hand sign position, a pair of blood-red One-Tomoe Sharingan appearing especially eerie under the firelight.
"Akira!" Uchiha Tekka was both surprised and delighted. He hadn't expected Akira to unleash such powerful Fire Release at such a crucial moment. The power of this Great Dragon Fire was already no less than his own.
"This kid... he's gotten stronger again!"
The three rogue ninjas steadied themselves, looking at Akira with surprise and anger.
"Where did this brat come from! How dare he ruin our plans!"
"Kill him first!"
The three exchanged a glance; two continued to entangle Uchiha Tekka, while one lunged at Akira. In their opinion, Akira was young. Even if he could use powerful Ninjutsu, his Chakra must be nearly depleted, making it a good opportunity to deal with him.
"You're courting death!" Akira snorted coldly, without the slightest fear in his eyes.
"Genjutsu: Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique!"
Although it was only a One-Tomoe Sharingan, Akira's mental power far exceeded that of ordinary people, coupled with the system's mastery of the Sharingan's basic abilities. This rogue ninja was instantly controlled by the Genjutsu Akira cast.
