Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Destiny

Chapter 8: Destiny

Somewhere outside of Gollen Village, Seraph arrived at his destination. Looking directly at the book, he saw it covered in dirt and Barely's blood. There was also Seraph's paintbrush, which he had given to Barely. Seraph walked up to pick up the paintbrush when something happened. BAM!

Seraph dropped to the grass, his eyes shut as if he were sleeping in mid-air. He collapsed immediately. Seraph lost consciousness, his eyes closed. The entire area was pitch black.

[What's going on? Tell me what you're doing. It's really shocking.] Seraph closed his eyes and felt himself sitting on something that looked like a chair.

Seraph opened his eyes, his face still calm. He couldn't help but open his mouth. The situation was so high that he almost jumped to his death. "What's this? Where is this place!?"

In front of Seraph, there was only gold. In the center was a circular table with a white ring. The table was made of exquisite gold, with a pattern representing the word "luck" written on it.

A single chair was placed there, surrounded by golden light, resembling a sky illuminated by a beautiful golden glow. A large golden key, the size of a tree, and numerous golden keys hung from the ceiling, acting as decorative objects. The surrounding area was littered with golden key designs.

Seraph's chair had a ring mask with the word "luck" written on it, signifying the luck that would come his way. Seraph sat with his chin resting on the table, looking curious. "What are you doing here, sir?"

A golden light shone on the empty chair, revealing a suspicious young woman with pink hair and pink eyes. It was Rindel, who appeared in the chair next to Seraph. Her face was expressing doubt, the word "doubt" protruding from the words "if it could be done" and she was extremely anxious.

Seraph continued to express her expression, "I can't believe it! I thought it was just me! What's going on? She's such a lovely girl, and judging by her clothes, she seemed to be fighting." Now, let me think. What's the reason for his appearance here?]

Rindel took a deep breath and looked straight at the stranger, staring at the seraph. The figure that looked like a man in a golden robe gave off the impression of a powerful presence. Just from his surroundings, one could tell that the person in front of him was dangerous.

The seraph's face was invisible. A long moment passed, and no one spoke. The seraph couldn't stand the atmosphere anymore and began, "What happened to you? You look badly injured. Do you need help?"

Rindel opened his mouth in fear. "I'm being hunted down by criminals. Please help me! I'm so scared. Those criminals killed my family so they could sell me. I don't know what to do. Please help me..." His voice was filled with tears and the sadness of his own family being killed.

Seraph stared at the girl's face, tears streaming down her face. [So, you have a similar story too. As expected, this world is cruel. I was born to be stronger than others. There's probably no way she'll survive.]

A line of light emanated from Rindel's body, extending towards the single key floating in the sky. Seraph watched as a golden key descended from the sky and landed directly in front of Seraph. It was a key the size of Seraph's hand. [So, this is what you mean, this key is for this girl?]

"Come to me. With your good fortune, I'll give you an item. Use it however you want." Rindel walked slowly until they reached their destination.

Seraph looked at the golden key placed on the golden table. "What, what... What is this?" Rindel stared at the single key. [What exactly is this supposed to do? From the moment I stumbled upon that white box to the moment it swallowed me. What happened to me?] Seraph remained silent.

[I don't know. If I knew, I would have already answered the question. I apologize. And good luck Next to you] "You'll have to find your own way. We just gave you this item." Rindel bowed his head in thanks, still curious. "Thank you very much. I'll definitely answer your question. May I know your name?" Seraph looked at the golden table. "A name? I don't know. We haven't thought about it yet, but whatever. So..."

Seraph thought as the golden system appeared. The word "luck" was written on the letters. [Luck? That's cool. My path must involve luck, then. This word.] "Call me fate. Just fate." Rindel nodded. [Fate? Alright, that's probably the codename for this Fate-sama.]

"Yes, Lord Fate." Rindel disappeared under Seraph's golden light. Seraph looked at the beautiful, empty place and was teleported back to the original location. Seraph lay down and kissed the ground with his face. Seraph stood up, dusting himself off. "You came back so easily. Fate? Interesting. The boy who wanted to use fate to reach the top of A ninth-rank martial artist, huh? It looks like it's going to be a wonderful journey.

Seraph took Baria's book and black brush and walked along. Along the way, he looked at Baria's paintings to pass the time. Baria's painting technique was shoddy, almost like a child's drawing. But Baria was still young, so he could only draw so much. Seraph only looked at one page and closed it.

[I'm almost in the habit of watching people's business. So-called people's business is like what we want to know about. Curiosity is a sweet tooth. Anyway, Baria's children will definitely be great in the future. So, this 100% destiny is to establish a relationship with Baria.]

At a certain location, five men in black robes with swords at their waists, the group of men who want to capture Rindel, are standing and watching. "Hey, where's that damn kid?" Another man is checking the white box because before Rindel disappeared, it had been swallowed by the white box.

"It might be some kind of survival artifact." Someone left it behind.

"Tch! Search everywhere! That kid's got a good price, so search everywhere!" Five men in black were searching. A golden light appeared where the white box used to be. It was as if Rindel had warped back to his original location.

The five men in black saw Rindel return to his original location and smiled happily. "What? He's finally back! We were all wondering where he went."

One man in black smiled back. "Then where have you been?" Rindel held up a golden key and pointed at the other man in black. "Don't come any closer. I've already received a magical item from a higher authority." One man in black laughed.

"Hahaha, this? Hahaha, this kid is very interesting. Do you think this thousand nonsensical magical items can defeat the five of us?" The laughter erupted. No wonder the men in black weren't afraid. They were all second-rank martial artists. If they were experienced fighters, they might have a chance of winning with a dangerous magical item. But since she's still young, she probably has little chance of defeating the five men.

"What could a single magical item do? No, it's a gift to us that's even more than gold. Interesting! The five men ran around the girl.
