Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Line of Fortune

Chapter 4: The Line of Fortune

There was an old wooden house, quite far from Gollen Village. It was so old it could be described as dirty. Baria ran into the house, because this was Baria's house. Baria ran in with a satisfied smile on her face.

"You passed your exam, my dear." Inside the house, everything was destroyed. In front of Baria, a young woman with white hair and black eyes stared at Baria. It wasn't a look of joy, but rather of anger. But for a brief moment, she smiled when she saw Baria.

The young woman's name was Baren. "Congratulations, my dear."

Baren walked towards Baren with a smile on her face, blood flowing and cuts on her face.

Baren stopped immediately. Baren stood in front of Baren with a friendly smile.

"Well then, congratulations. How are you?" Baren was overjoyed. Baria's mother had never praised herself before.

"Very good. Just wait a little longer. I'll become a cultivator and help you pay off your debts."

"Is that so? Congratulations. It seems your debt is cleared. Rest easy. Now, go play outside."

Baria nodded and walked out of the house towards a location. Agfa had killed all the men in black, leaving only one survivor. Agfa's right hand reached out to strangle the man in black.

"Now, tell me, who ordered this?" The man in black quickly confessed.

"I admit it. The Sempan group hired me to kill Lord Agen to show them their power. No matter which side the opponent is, we can do it!!" Agfa smiled.

"Good job." Boom!! His right fist smashed the black-robed man's head, sending it flying. Aakfe looked at his hand, blood everywhere.

[I guess I'll have to wait for my energy to return before fighting those guys.] To his side, the seated Seraph looked at his chest. A golden line was extending from him.

[If this golden line is extending from me, is it luck from me?]

Seraph looked at Somen, who had Serian lying on the chair beside him. "Let me go outside." Somen nodded, uninterested, as it was normal for Seraph to act strangely.

"Then, Dad and Serian will be waiting at home. Don't forget to not come home late tonight."

Seraph nodded, and the coachman stopped. Seraph got off the carriage, watching the wheels start moving. The carriage had gone quite far.

Seraph walked with a calm expression, seeing people passing by. There were cultivators walking around with swords. Seraph arrived at a place where an old man was selling things. It was a sword shop filled with antiques.

Seraph entered the shop and saw cultivators looking at weapons. The floor was lined with ancient stones. Whoever broke the stones would find a ring stored in the stone. Finding the ring within the stone was like gambling on what valuable item it contained. It was a form of searching for treasure within the stone. Many martial artists entered the shop.

A man stood alone, looking at the small change in his pocket.

He was a man with short black hair, a sword at his waist, around twenty years old, dressed in green. He was a level 2 cultivator named Zhang Ming.

[Sigh... I'm still as poor as ever. Why is my life so miserable? How can the money I earn from the sect be enough to train? If I were rich, I'd be in the top 100 cultivators. I barely have any training crystals. I barely have any level 1 magical weapons. This is going to be tough. The competition for the level 2 treasure, called Luck, is about to begin, isn't it?]

Zhang Ming was deep in thought as he saw a young boy in golden clothes walking into the shop.

Zhang Ming almost burst out laughing.

[What the hell, is this little kid here choosing items? No, he's looking for stones to bet on? A young child dares to gamble? I guess I'll have to teach him how to play. An experienced senior like you will teach him.]

Seraph stopped in front of An ordinary stone face, shaped like a pitch-black rock, half the size of a seraph's arm. Zhang Ming walked up to stand beside Seraph.

"Would you like to hear some advice from this senior?" Seraph didn't show the slightest interest. He reached out his right hand and picked up the stone. Seraph looked at the stone with a golden streak of light stretching towards him, but the stone changed direction towards Zhang Ming instead.

Seraph looked at the streak of light that should have connected to him and turned towards Zhang Ming. [What's this? It was originally mine, but now it's this kid's?]

Seraph went to pay the bill and then returned to stand in front of

Zhang Ming, who had a puzzled expression on his face. [What do you want?]

"Here, brother. I want to give this to you. Can you open it for me?"

"Hmm?" Zhang Ming took it with a face of uncertainty.

[Does this kid know me?] "Then thank you." Look closely, this is the stone you chose!

[What the hell, a rich kid who spends money like a scrap of paper?]

Zhang Ming squeezed the black rock and it shattered with a loud bang!!

The rock shattered, revealing a piece of material floating to the ground. Whoosh! Zhang Ming reached out his right hand to catch it, his face full of shock.

[Oh my god, this is a magical ring! Don't tell me this ring has magical items!!? Calm down, calm down, calm down...]

"Oh... this, kid. Is this mine?"

"Yes, it is. This is my brother's." Seraph looked at the golden line that appeared again on himself and saw Zhang Ming's golden line stretching out in one direction, with Seraph's golden line extending outwards.

[Are you telling me to follow that way? And take this child with you?]

Zhang Ming inserted power into the ring, and a bright light shone on it, and something appeared out of it. It was a pitch-black helmet, like a knight's helmet.

Zhang Ming looked very interested, looking at the black knight's helmet that emitted a deadly energy.

[It seems to be a magical wearable item. I'll test its properties later. Who exactly is this kid?]

"Big brother, would you mind accompanying me? I'm in a bit of trouble. If possible, would you like me to come with you?"

Zhang Ming patted his chest. "Of course, little one. Big brother will definitely help."

Seraph nodded and walked out of the shop, heading towards his golden path. Zhang Ming followed without a second thought, overjoyed at the free weapon.

In a place, Baria was strolling through a forest, surrounded by vibrant green trees and a place with no one passing by. Baria sat down.

"Alright, today, let me draw my mother's smiling face."

Baria smiled happily, seeing her mother's smile for the first time, a smile she hadn't seen since Baria was a child. After a while, the picture book that Baria was drawing was filled with hand-drawn patterns.

Baria was drawing happily when she heard two men in black approaching her. Baria looked towards the newcomer, who was wearing a full black robe.

Baria quickly gathered her things and prepared to run away, hyper-vigilant.

One man in black stood in front of Baria.

"How could a little kid be wandering around here?"

Baria nodded and immediately ran, trying to run away from the two men in black. The two men in black smiled and ran to Baria, swinging their right feet, relentless, regardless of the fact that they were children. Whoosh! Bang!

Baria was hit square in the face by the swinging foot and her body was sent flying to the ground. Whoosh! Thud! "Where are you going in such a hurry, little girl?"

Baria was shaking violently and shouting for help. "Someone help me!!! Someone help me!!!!! Mommy!!!!! Help me!!"

Tears were streaming down Baria's face, along with blood flowing from his nose.
