At that moment, the kitchen door slid open. Shizune, wearing an apron, peeked her head out and looked at Tsunade uncertainly.

"Lady Tsunade? You're back?"

"I've already issued the commission for the house. You should be able to move in by the day after tomorrow."

"I'll keep cooking. You two carry on."

With that, she stepped back through the glass door and returned to the stove, letting out a long sigh.

Sigh... Lady Tsunade's temper is so fierce. Uchiha Hikaru's going to have a rough time in the future.

Thinking that, she shook her head quietly, a faint sympathy forming for Hikaru.

In the living room, Shizune's interruption eased the tension between Tsunade and Uchiha Hikaru.

Hikaru slid closer, sat beside Tsunade, and spoke with curiosity.

"Alright, tell me what's going on. Otherwise, how can I help you come up with a solution?"

Tsunade took a deep breath, sipped her tea, frowned, and began to express her concerns.

"There's something seriously off in the funding reports. The flow of money between the Medical Division and the Civil Affairs Division doesn't line up. The budgets don't match the actual projects."

"These two areas are the biggest problems right now."

Hikaru began swirling the tea in his cup thoughtfully. As he watched the ripples, a knowing smile appeared on his face.

"The Medical Division is under Koharu Utatane. The Civil Affairs Division is still handled by Mitokado Homura."

Tsunade's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Those two old fossils are still in charge?! After all these years?"

Hikaru nodded.

"Yeah. Hiruzen hasn't stepped down yet, so we don't have the authority to remove them."

Tsunade grit her teeth, her tone dark with anger.

"Those leeches are still sucking the village dry? When I officially take the Hokage seat, they're finished."

Suddenly, Hikaru remembered something. He looked at her, confused.

"Didn't I remind you to meet with the Third Hokage today?"

Tsunade's expression froze. She quickly tried to change the subject.

"Hahaha... I'm starving. Shizune! How's dinner? How much longer?"

But Hikaru wasn't buying it. He let out a sigh.

"Don't try to dodge it. You definitely forgot. Don't forget again tomorrow."

"Tomorrow you'll not only have to go see Hiruzen, but also visit the sculptor at the Hokage Monument to have your face modeled. You'll also need to get fitted for the Hokage robes."

Tsunade groaned.

"Ugh, so many damn things! I'm over it!"

She flopped back onto the couch, staring up at the ceiling.

Hikaru glanced at her lying lazily beside him and sighed inwardly.

She's not cut out for paperwork. This is going to be rough. I need to figure out a way to lighten her load.

A few minutes later, Shizune brought out several dishes. The three of them sat down for dinner.

By the time they finished eating, it was already close to ten o'clock. No surprise, considering Tsunade had only left the Hokage office at nine. Being Hokage really was a soul-crushing desk job—twelve hours a day, from eight in the morning to nine at night. No wonder Hiruzen aged so quickly and started losing hair.

Shizune quietly headed into the guest room to rest.

Earlier today, she had issued Tsunade's residential paperwork. Later, once she confirmed Hikaru's location, she had been tasked with cleaning the house.

When she was cleaning the guest room, she saw the mess on the floor and a red stain on the bedsheets. Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. After all, she was still a 23-year-old woman. She couldn't help but imagine what must've happened in that room last night.

Now lying on that same bed—though cleaned—she could still faintly smell something lingering in the sheets. Her thoughts began to spiral into strange images she couldn't control.

Meanwhile, Hikaru and Tsunade had already gone to the bedroom, changed into their pajamas, and lay down.

It wasn't that Hikaru wasn't interested—but the moment they entered the room, Tsunade crossed her arms in front of her chest to make her intentions clear.

She didn't want a repeat of last night—at least, not daily.

She had enjoyed it at first, but the memory of being overwhelmed… that lingering soreness… she couldn't bring herself to do it again so soon.

So now, they just lay on the bed together, staring up at the dark ceiling.

Tsunade was still muttering about the Hokage paperwork.

"There are just too many reports. When will I ever finish them all on my own?"

Hikaru turned his head and looked at her delicate, flawless profile. The worry in her expression cast soft shadows across her face.

"Don't stress. It's only temporary. I'll find a way to help you."

"I can't just let you stay locked in an office all day like some prisoner."

Tsunade suddenly sat up, turned to face him, and stared into his eyes. Her earlier frustration vanished, replaced by wide-eyed hope.

"Really?"

"You're not lying to me?"

"Is there really a way for me to get out of it!?"

A sly smile crept onto Hikaru's face.

Tsunade immediately realized how that sounded and scrambled to rephrase it.

"I mean—not get out of it! Just… increase processing efficiency?"

Her tone was uncertain and clearly fishing for approval.

Hikaru nodded in satisfaction.

Exactly. It's not slacking—it's strategic delegation!

I'm just creating opportunities for subordinates to grow! Let them discover their value and contribute meaningfully!

These little speeches were never part of the shinobi world before, but Hikaru brought them in and weaponized them like a salaryman from another universe. His police department officers felt genuinely appreciated—and some even asked to work overtime.

He was so moved, he doubled their salaries out of gratitude.

But then the officers worked even harder.

Think about it: no dangerous missions, no risking your life, stable pay, safe work. And it was considered service to the village. Even the villagers were praising the Police Force now.

That was real work ethic.

It was like something out of Blue Star—when the workload doubles, but the salary triples.

Overtime? The boss pays well? Then hell yeah, I'm in! I'm the most loyal shinobi on the payroll!

Hikaru smirked.

He'd even had a young civilian ninja, only in his early twenties, who had saved enough from three months of work in the police department to buy a house.

Tsunade looked at Hikaru's smug expression and grew even more anxious to know his plan.

"What's the idea? Tell me already!"

She leaned closer, face full of urgency.

Hikaru pointed at her with a mischievous grin.

"That depends on your performance~"

Tsunade hesitated for a few seconds… then clenched her teeth.

"Fine! Bring it on! I'm not afraid of you!"

In the next room, Shizune—lying on the guest bed—started hearing unmistakable sounds coming from the other side of the wall.

She yanked a pillow over her head, trying to block out the noise, but her imagination betrayed her. Her body flushed, and she began to squirm in place.

It went on for a long time.

Only after what felt like forever did the noise finally fade, and Shizune slowly drifted into sleep.

What she didn't realize was...

Under the quilt...

They probably forgot to change the sheets...
