On a bright, sunny morning, the world outside the compound was full of life.
Uchiha Hikaru slowly woke up in bed.
The first thing he felt was pressure on his body.
When he looked down, he saw Tsunade sprawled across him like an octopus—her calves draped over his legs, one heel hooked around his right thigh.
He raised a hand and lightly patted her cheek.
Tsunade groaned and swatted at him without opening her eyes, mumbling drowsily under her breath.
"Don't… it'll break..."
Hikaru's expression immediately froze in awkwardness.
Well… there's always a reason for everything.
It seemed last night had taken a toll on her. The aftermath of that particular "battle" wasn't something she was brushing off easily.
After Tsunade had fallen asleep on the other side of the bed last night, Hikaru had planned to call it a truce.
But Tsunade had been stubborn, crawling on top of him again.
Heat surged through his body. They didn't stop until both sides were completely satisfied.
Yeah… she's definitely paying the price now.
Hikaru sighed and smiled wryly.
Turns out it wasn't as scary as I thought. Thirty is like a wolf, forty like a tiger? I crushed both.
He got out of bed, dressed, and prepared a simple breakfast. He set the plates neatly on the dining table in the living room and waited for Tsunade to wake.
He left a note on the table, grabbed a piece of bread with his teeth, and hurried toward the Konoha Police Department.
I haven't been in the office for over a week now. I dumped everything on Fugaku... If I don't go in soon, he's going to show up at my door with Itachi and a funeral wreath.
The sun climbed higher, and it wasn't until midday that Tsunade finally sat up in bed, groggy and sore.
Her limbs ached with exhaustion. She rubbed her temples and got to her feet, slipping her green robe over her shoulders.
But the moment she tried to walk, a dull ache in her lower body made her flinch. She clenched her jaw and hissed.
"You little pervert... don't even know how to be gentle."
"When I recover, you'll see how I pay you back!"
Grumbling under her breath, she summoned green chakra to her hands and began channeling healing energy into her legs, easing the pain and strain.
Afterward, she walked into the living room and found the note on the table, along with the breakfast Hikaru had left behind.
She picked up the note, eyes scanning it casually.
"Going to the Police Department. Since you're back in the village, remember to stop by the Hokage's Office and check in with Shikaku Nara."
Tsunade scowled.
"No emotional intelligence at all. All you care about is the damn village."
She was about to toss the note when she noticed something scribbled on the back. She flipped it over.
"Also, eat your breakfast. If you're still not feeling well, just go tomorrow."
Her heart softened.
She slowly pressed the note against her chest and whispered, "At least you're not totally clueless…"
A small smile curved her lips.
After finishing the meal, she headed out toward the Hokage Building.
As she stepped outside Hikaru's house, she leapt onto the rooftop, using chakra to quicken her pace.
Though she had previously acted indifferent about becoming Hokage, now that it was real, the excitement was undeniable.
She arrived at the Hokage Building and stood below, gazing up at the tall, crimson structure, feeling a swell of emotion.
At that moment, two figures exited the building.
"Lady Tsunade!? You're back?!"
The voices were filled with joy and surprise.
She looked down. Sure enough—Chōza Akimichi and Inoichi Yamanaka.
"Chōza, Inoichi? What are you two doing here?"
Chōza scratched his head awkwardly, glancing at Inoichi.
Inoichi quickly smacked Chōza on the back and grabbed his arm, clearly eager to get away.
"Ahaha! Lady Tsunade! It's nothing! He's just hungry. We haven't had lunch yet! Gotta run!"
Before she could respond, they hurried off down the road.
Tsunade blinked, confused.
That's odd. Those two usually aren't that jumpy...
She shrugged it off and stepped into the building, heading upstairs.
Pushing open the office door with no hesitation, her voice rang out.
"Shikaku! Your boss is back!"
Inside, Nara Shikaku sat at his desk, slumped over like a wilted plant. But the second he heard her voice, he bolted upright with a spark in his eye and slammed the table with both hands.
"Lady Tsunade! Thank the Sage, you're finally back!"
He rushed around the desk, pulling out the chair for her like a desperate man clinging to life.
"Please, sit! Sit!"
Tsunade walked over with a proud smile, clearly basking in her new role. She took the seat at the Hokage's desk, glowing with confidence.
But Shikaku was already pointing at stacks of paperwork.
"Left stack: mission commissions from other villages. Middle: medical division reports. Right: civil welfare department updates—"
Tsunade nodded automatically, not fully absorbing any of it.
...What did he just say?
Shikaku ran to the doorway, turned, and bowed a full 90 degrees.
"Lady Tsunade, all of these are yours now!"
"Chōza and Inoichi have been begging me to go to the barbecue place for three months! I'm finally free!"
With lifeless eyes and the grace of a broken soul, Shikaku leapt out the window, disappearing with a faint green aura of desperation.
Tsunade stared after him.
What's the big deal? Just paperwork. He acts like he was dying.
With a shrug, she cracked her knuckles and prepared to get started.
How hard can it be? Just some stamping, right?
Ten minutes later, her brow furrowed.
An hour later, her brow was locked in a scowl.
Three hours later, her face twisted into a grimace.
Eight hours later—
"TO HELL WITH THIS!"
Tsunade slammed the desk, kicked the door open, and stormed out.
Screw this job!
Half-day trial as Hokage? OVER. Whoever wants the job can take it—I'm done!
She charged toward Uchiha Hikaru's home, a storm in her eyes.
Hikaru, meanwhile, was lounging on the couch, flipping through boring TV channels. A snow country drama starring Yukie Fujikaze was playing, and he was not impressed.
"What garbage."
"This plot is so dumb."
"Only thing worth watching is the actress."
Grumbling, he turned the TV off.
The door exploded open.
BANG!
Hikaru jumped.
Tsunade stomped into the room, grabbed him by the collar, and yanked him off the couch.
"I quit being Hokage! Who the hell files this many stupid reports!?"
She threw him back onto the couch and flopped down beside him, arms spread across the sofa, one leg kicked up dramatically.
Hikaru sat up, brushing his clothes straight.
"That's what being Hokage is. What did you expect?"
Tsunade turned away with a loud huff.
"Hmph!"
"I don't care. You better think of a solution, or I'm not doing this job anymore!"
