Naruto's limbs and neck were bound in iron chains, his body suspended mid-air in a spread-eagle position.
Dense black sealing formulae, like crawling tadpoles, slithered across his skin, converging toward the seal at his navel.
Pain wracked Naruto's body over and over—dragging him in and out of consciousness.
Inside his mindscape—
"Naruto… be angry. Hate them…"
"Open the gate."
"I will give you the power to change everything."
"Let's destroy these hateful people and this hateful village together!"
The Nine-Tails lay crouched behind the sealed gate, whispering venomous promises.
Naruto continued struggling against the burning, orange chakra engulfing him. He no longer had control of his body—his consciousness was slipping away.
But memories of Jiraiya surfaced, flooding his mind. Those memories were the only thing anchoring him.
Outside—
Danzo stood a short distance from Naruto. Behind him, the sealing team concentrated their chakra, attempting to forcefully manipulate the curse seal and disrupt the seal on the Nine-Tails.
"Lord Danzo," one of the shinobi reported, "according to the sealing scrolls, the Jinchūriki's seal is a combination of the Eight Trigrams Seal and the Four Symbols Seal."
"Without the key, it's impossible to fully open. The best we can do is rip a small hole in it to leak some of the Nine-Tails' chakra."
"But the Jinchūriki's will is too strong—he keeps resisting. We can't seize control of the Nine-Tails' chakra."
Danzo's expression twisted in frustration.
"You useless scum! Root has trained you for years, taught you sealing techniques—and this is the best you can do?!"
"Get out. All of you. I'll do it myself."
The sealing team quickly retreated from the chamber.
Danzo reached for the bandages wrapped around his right eye and peeled them away.
The Sharingan that had once belonged to Shisui Uchiha revealed itself—its Mangekyō form whirling to life.
He stepped closer to Naruto, pried open his eyelid, and stared into the boy's eye.
Mangekyō technique—Kotoamatsukami—unleashed!
Though it couldn't permanently overwrite a person's will, it could temporarily bend Naruto's mind to Danzo's.
The genjutsu surged forward, guiding Naruto's fading consciousness.
Naruto felt himself sinking into endless darkness. Cold. Empty. Everything slipping away.
And then Danzo stood before the Nine-Tails' cage inside Naruto's mind.
The Nine-Tails immediately lunged, claws slashing—but the cage held firm.
Its crimson eyes narrowed in fury.
"Damn MangekyĹŤ Sharingan..."
"You again. Another damn Uchiha!"
Danzo scoffed.
"Don't flatter yourself, Kyuubi. I'm not one of those disgusting Uchiha."
"But judging by your reaction... it seems the MangekyĹŤ really can control tailed beasts."
"Submit to me, Kyuubi. Become the instrument of my will!"
His right eye pulsed again, and the pattern within spun rapidly.
The Nine-Tails froze.
Its pupils began to shift—taking the form of Danzo's Mangekyō.
Back in the real world—
Danzo's right eye bled.
He clutched his face, pain shooting through his body.
Grimacing, he grabbed a handful of soldier pills and swallowed them all at once.
The Hashirama cells grafted into his right arm flared to life, mending his physical damage.
After several moments, the agony subsided.
Danzo approached Naruto again.
He formed hand seals—drawing forth the Nine-Tails' chakra while simultaneously taking control of Naruto's body.
The tailed beast cloak wrapped around Naruto, and three glowing chakra tails began to form behind him.
Naruto groaned in agony.
Though unconscious, his soul screamed inside the darkness. Drenched in hatred and despair, even Jiraiya's image became twisted, repulsive.
The fourth tail formed.
Then the fifth. The sixth.
The fox's chakra burned Naruto's skin clean off, evaporating flesh into black smoke.
A stench of charred blood and tissue filled the air.
When the seventh tail began to manifest, bones pushed through the chakra cloak—white and grotesque.
Danzo looked at the beast Naruto had become—a miniature nine-tailed demon in a partial transformation.
For the first time, he felt the sheer scale of the Nine-Tails' power.
He threw his head back and laughed.
"Hahahaha! Hiruzen! The Nine-Tails is finally mine!"
"With the Nine-Tails… and the Mangekyō Sharingan… what can you do now, Uchiha Hikaru?!"
"Even your Susanoo can't match this power!"
His laughter cut off abruptly, replaced by ice-cold killing intent.
"Medical team! Enter!"
Masked medical-nin in pale yellow robes entered the room, kneeling before Danzo.
"Lord Danzo, your orders?"
Danzo pointed at Naruto.
"Inject him with chakra enhancers, sedatives—anything that boosts his chakra and breaks his will."
"Push him to the brink. As long as he doesn't die, give him everything you've got!"
"Yes, sir!"
The medics grabbed needles and tubes, inserting them into Naruto's still-bound form. Fluids pumped into his body nonstop.
Thirty minutes passed.
The team returned to Danzo.
"Lord Danzo, injections are complete. He can sustain this state for approximately two more hours."
"Beyond that, the damage will outpace the Nine-Tails' regenerative ability. The Jinchūriki will die."
Danzo looked over Naruto's form—now fully cloaked in seven tails and skeletal armor.
He smiled in satisfaction.
Then turned around and gave the order.
"All Root units—assemble!"
"Our mission is to exterminate the Uchiha clan!"
Over thirty Jonin and forty Chunin in Root uniforms dropped to one knee.
"YES!"
With a single motion, the squad disappeared—vanishing across Konoha's rooftops toward the Uchiha district.
And Naruto…
Still unconscious.
Still transformed.
Still chained.
But now—he followed Danzo like a weapon of war.
The seven-tailed fox had become Root's beast.
Danzo led the procession through the secret tunnel beneath the Hokage Building, heading straight for the Uchiha's gates.
The climax begins.
