Chapter 1 - This Has To Be a Dream

Somewhere in the middle of the great forest of Zura, in a Goblin village, a group of young Goblins were playing a game when one of them stopped suddenly and began to look around as they had a feeling they were being watched.

It didn't take long till he spots an older Goblin crouching under a tree staring at him with bloodshot eyes that could look through one's soul.

The young Goblin felt his entire being shiver while under those eyes, creeped out, he called out to his friends mostly because he thought he was hallucinating. He got a sense of relief when they all froze too, but then he realized there really was a scary looking Goblin staring at them.

Stopping their game altogether, with tears in their eyes they all decided all go home to tell their parents what they had witnessed

None of the young Goblins would sleep properly this night as whenever they close their eyes, they would see the eyes of that older Goblin watching them.

'Where the hell am I, why am I still a Goblin. I've tried to sleep and wake up multiple times, but no amount of sleeping and waking up seems to bring this nightmare to an end'

These kinds of thoughts kept repeating in Vaalk's head while his eyes trailed at his surroundings.

'The last thing I remember is being struck by lightning after making that dumb bet at the bar. Did I die? Am I that unlucky? God! It was just a drink! Did you have to strike me dead?!!'

It has been 2 days since he woke up in this world as a Goblin. He knows next to nothing of this world other than his name, his identity as a goblin and the vast forest he was in.

He spent the most out of his time denying his existence and running away from the fact that he's actually a Goblin now. (I mean, who wouldn't)

'Am I really stuck here as a Goblin? Whyy? And what kind of name is Vaalk?? Why do I have to be a Goblin though, were the human servers full?'

'I'm not even asking for much, anything else would have been fine with me, A lizardman, an orc, anything! But it just had to be the next best mob for new adventurers (╬▔皿▔) ╯'

'I'm starving… Argh I haven't eaten anything for days, so much for a community, can't even offer a lonely soul like me a meal'

They did offer him a meal though, a couple of times when they noticed him walking around like he had lost his soul, but he was so deep in disbelief he never even noticed

Now, unbeknownst to him, he has begun a journey to become the village's boogeyman for the kid's anytime they misbehave, but unfortunately, he's going to have to get visited by a mob of angry Goblin parents first.

As he gets up to find where and how he would forage up a meal, his head was suddenly hit by an intense amount of pain. It was as if someone drove a spike right through his skull.

He collapsed to the floor, his hands clutching his head. A scream that sounded like it came from the depths of his soul filled with fear and suffering burst from his throat, calling attention from every Goblin in the area including the angry parents that were about to come and mess him up.

While his body writhed on the ground, they rushed up to him in a panic. His head pounded as the pain came in relentless waves, his vision blurred, as he felt everything break apart into countless fragments

'WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?! AM, I DYING? AGAIN??' While his thoughts were jumbled and it felt like he couldn't hold on anymore, the pain stopped, gone like it was never there, and he fell still, his consciousness drifting into slumber.

The Goblins were in an obvious panic, they hadn't seen anything like this before, not knowing what to do, they decided to carry him to the nearest shaman's hut.

Just before he fades, he hears the faint sound of a beep go off in his head, bringing his consciousness back a little, enough for him to open his eyes to a crack and catch what seemed to be light coming from a screen just in his face.
