(Misaki opened the album in front of Ahmed and began showing him a series of photos:
A picture of them as children playing in the mud, with laughter covering their faces.
Another picture of them arguing with a childlike stubbornness over a piece of candy.
A third picture of them playing with water in a small tub, nude, their features filled with innocence.
Then she took out a short video tape, in which a young Ahmed appeared, stammering while pronouncing a Japanese sentence, while Misaki, Mr. Haruki, and Ahmed's parents laughed with joy at his innocent attempts.
Ahmed's face turned beet red, and he lowered his head in shame, as if time had suddenly returned him to that child who didn't know how to form a correct sentence.
Misaki raised her eyes to him and asked him in a sharp voice:
Misaki: "Do you remember anything now?"
Ahmed (hesitantly): "Yes... I remembered the video... and the photo of us playing in the water together."
A strange expression of both hope and disappointment appeared on Misaki's face, then she asked bitterly:
"What happened to you that made you forget everything?"
Ahmed lowered his head and answered, trying to be honest:
"Do you want me to remember you when we haven't met for seven years?"
Anger ignited in her heart. She raised her hand, wanting to hit him hard, and said with eyes full of tears and fury:
"Why do I still remember you... and you don't remember me?"
Ahmed tried to calm her down and said, flustered:
"Maybe because I was busy with football... and I met a lot of people..."
But his words did not soothe her anger; they only added fuel to the fire. She hit him hard, screaming:
"This hit... so you remember me well!"
There was a sharp glint in her eyes, closer to a threat of murder. Ahmed froze in his place, his mind screaming in an internal voice:
"Will this be my wife? No... she will be my worst nightmare!"
Silence reigned for a moment, but it was quickly broken by preparations for travel. Ahmed and Misaki gathered their equipment and weapons, getting ready to move to Yemen to carry out the second mission. And between worry and anticipation, each of them hid their feelings behind a mask of seriousness.)
