Chapter 37 - Ch 37

As Kagami contemplated what to demand, his deep, sharp gaze swept over the defeated Cloud shinobi and settled, unexpectedly, on a graceful female ninja standing amidst the weary soldiers.

Her hair, a cascade of brilliant gold, fluttered in the wind, a dazzling sun-kissed waterfall that gave her a charming, exotic allure. But it wasn't just her hair; her form was a masterpiece of lethal grace. Every line of her curvaceous and perfect figure seemed sculpted with intent, a flawless expression of feminine power and sensuality that was impossible to ignore.

This was a type, Kagami realized, that perfectly matched his own inner definition of beauty. His mind raced, cross-referencing the characters who had appeared in the Hidden Cloud Village in the original story. The conclusion was swift and certain: the blonde beauty before him could only be Samui.

Compared to the abstract value of the Lightning Release Chakra Mode, the tangible value of Samui was, in Kagami's cold calculus, infinitely higher. And so, without a moment's hesitation, his decision was made.

Why bother with a mere jutsu when he could have this blonde beauty? How could a technique, no matter how powerful, compare to a woman who could potentially grant him a powerful new character template? The two were not even in the same league. As for her rating... he scoffed internally. A woman with such a magnificent body, one of the premier beauties of the original story, would undoubtedly possess a high rating.

Kagami pointed directly at Samui, his voice cutting through the tense silence. "Since you cannot hand over the Lightning Release Chakra Mode, you will stay. The rest of you may leave."

Before Samui could even react, a young man with a brash, blocky blonde haircut standing next to her erupted like a lit firecracker. He lunged forward, his face flushed, his eyes wide with fury. "No! I refuse to agree to that!"

His outburst caused Kagami's face to darken instantly. But before he could act on his anger, the young man looked at him, his expression shifting to one of desperate pleading. "I will stay as a hostage in your place! Please, let my sister go!"

Kagami, who had been on the verge of simply erasing the loud-mouthed fool, had to physically suppress the murderous impulse. He's her brother.

"I kept Samui for my grand design," he complained silently in his mind. "What possible use do I have for you?" If not for the fact that this boy was now his future brother-in-law, Kagami would have killed him without a second thought.

At that moment, Samui stepped forward, her expression calm and composed as she met Kagami's gaze. "Why do you want me to stay?" she asked, her voice even. She knew this wasn't about taking a hostage; there had to be another reason. The thought that it might be for a personal reason crossed her mind, but she dismissed it. A man as powerful as Kagami surely wouldn't be swayed by something as simple as beauty.

Hearing her question, Kagami's clone made no attempt to hide his intentions. "The reason is simple," he said directly. "I find you... Attractive. I wish for you to become my woman." He was, he found, quite patient with his future women. He could take her by force, of course, but her willing compliance would be far more preferable.

"Ah...???"

A collective wave of shock, followed by a quiet, bitter resignation, swept through the Hidden Cloud shinobi. They had assumed he wanted a hostage. They never expected he wanted to claim their village's most beautiful kunoichi as his wife. Though their hearts ached at the thought of their goddess becoming another's prize, the suffocating terror inspired by Kagami kept their mouths shut. All they could do was weep silently. Sorry, brother A! The village's goddess is gone!

Samui, too, was surprised. She had not pegged this terrifyingly powerful man as someone who would indulge in carnal desires. But as she looked at his handsome, powerful face, she felt her heart beat faster, a faint blush creeping onto her cheeks. The idea of being his wife... it wasn't an entirely unpleasant thought. Women admired strength, and she was no exception. This man was impossibly strong, undeniably handsome, and the perfect specimen to meet her criteria for a mate.

Furthermore, she was a pragmatist. If she married him, she would not only secure a perfect husband but also ensure the survival of her comrades. It was, in its own grim way, killing two birds with one stone. As for the fallen Raikage... she could only apologize to his memory.

Thinking this, Samui blushed and nodded. "If I agree to marry you, you will let them go?"

Seeing this, the male shinobi of the Hidden Cloud felt their hearts break. It hurts, it hurts so much! But then they thought of their own survival, and the pain became a little more bearable.

Kagami smiled. "Of course. As long as you are willing to be my woman, I have no reason to harm your companions." He had never intended to kill them all anyway. If A hadn't so foolishly provoked him, even he would still be alive.

Samui's brother, Atsui, opened his mouth to protest again, but seeing the look on his sister's face, the words died in his throat. As her brother, all he wanted was for her to be happy. And Samui... didn't seem to object. The realization that if they married, he would become Kagami's brother-in-law, sent a strange, unexpected thrill of excitement through him.

Hearing Kagami's easy agreement, Samui's opinion of him rose even higher. Although he had just killed their Raikage, the fact that a man so handsome and powerful was treating her with such direct, focused attention was... flattering.

She nodded again, her voice firm. "As long as you let them go, I am willing to be your woman."

"Excellent," Kagami's clone smiled. He turned to the other Cloud ninja. "You may go."

The shinobi looked from Kagami to Samui, their expressions a complex mixture of emotions, but in the end, they chose to leave, carrying the unconscious Killer B and the body of their fallen Raikage. Though they hated to admit it, they had to concede: Kagami and Samui... they were a good match.

Atsui lingered, wanting to stay with his sister, but a slight shake of her head told him to go. With a helpless sigh, he left with the others.

Watching them leave, a trace of worry flashed in Samui's eyes. With the Raikage dead, the Hidden Cloud was now leaderless. She was deeply concerned for the future of her village and the safety of her brother. But she didn't yet know her own standing with Kagami, so she didn't dare ask for Atsui to stay.

Kagami's clone noticed her concern. Assuming she was worried about her brother, he smiled. "Don't worry. I will have two of my clones secretly follow them to ensure your brother's safety."

Since Samui was now his woman, Atsui was his brother-in-law. It was only natural to ensure his safety.

Of course, his purpose was twofold. While protecting Atsui, he also had another objective in mind. Yugito Nii, the jinchuriki of the Two-Tails, was also with that group. She was considered one of the great beauties of her time, and her rating would surely not be low. It would be a simple matter for his clones to "persuade" her to join him as well. After all, her eventual fate was to be killed by the Akatsuki. Marrying him was a far better alternative.
