Location: Royal Archives – Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul
The hall was silent, ancient paper scrolls and leather-bound volumes tucked neatly on towering shelves. Most people didn't know the Royal Archives even existed beneath the palace. But Lee Gon had known it since childhood.
Tonight, though, he wasn't alone.
Dephnie stood beside him, eyes wide with curiosity.
"You said there's something you need to show me," she whispered.
Lee Gon nodded grimly. "It's about me. And… the reason I'm the only version of myself across all realities."
Dephnie froze.
Flashback – 27 Years AgoAn infant's cries echoed through a sacred temple. A secret ritual was underway, watched by cloaked elders. The child—newborn Lee Gon—was placed in the center of an ancient sigil carved into the floor.
A rare celestial convergence had opened that night. A rift in the universe—a chance to bind a soul across time and space.
The Emperor had agreed to the ritual to protect the royal bloodline from ever being duplicated, ever being erased. The result?
Lee Gon became the fixed point of the multiverse.
Back to Present
Lee Gon opened a sealed scroll and laid it flat on the stone table. "This ritual is forbidden now. It made me a singularity. No alternate Gons exist. But the cost…"
He pointed to a torn fragment in the scroll—blackened, scorched.
"I can't leave this universe permanently. If I do, the timelines collapse."
Dephnie felt a chill. "That's why… you never chased me beyond the gate?"
He nodded. "I wanted to. But the moment I stepped into your world… earthquakes hit four realities."
Location: Royal Observatory
Professor Song reviewed seismic records and quantum distortions.
"These were no ordinary shifts," he explained to Woo-jin. "They point to an incoming collapse—something is hunting fixed points."
Woo-jin furrowed his brow. "You mean… Lee Gon?"
"No. I mean something older than our universes. Something that wants the fixed points gone."
He flipped to a satellite image from the DMZ zone near the northern border.
A rift had opened.
Black. Pulsing. Alive.
Location: DMZ Forest – Midnight
Special Forces scouted the area. As they neared the rift, radios died. The ground split open—and a shadow emerged. It moved like smoke, whispering voices in dozens of languages at once.
Its eyes glowed deep violet.
And then… it spoke a name.
"Dephnie."
Location: Seoul – Palace Balcony
Lee Gon looked at the stars, troubled. "If anything happens, you must return to your world."
Dephnie turned to him, resolute. "No. I didn't cross dimensions just to leave you now."
"I'm not asking."
"I don't care."
Their voices cracked with emotion, the tension thicker than ever.
Finally, Lee Gon pulled her close.
"I would rather the universe burn than lose you again."
They kissed under a sky beginning to shimmer unnaturally.
