Chapter 4 - Meeting The Goddess

Xavier gripped the chain as he walked in a stone hall led by the muscular man. His classmates were in front of him as they walked in a straight line in the hallway. Their legs were chained so they weren't actually walking. They were actually waddling like penguins.

The students made no sound, just whimpering to themselves. Xavier could see what looked like nobles in the hallway, staring at him and his classmates as they walked. Looks and score of disdain, whispering and talking with one another, laughing as they passed them. Some of the males were giving lecherous looks to the females, partly the reason because some of the females had their breasts out and they couldn't properly cover themselves.

"I suggest you don't look at them." The soldier, directing them, spoke. "We don't want any of the nobles giving themselves ideas."

Xavier took a deep breath, shuffling his hands to make them feel comfortable as they walked. The hall was adorned with pictures, relics, and was furnished well as they walked. While the students' dirty legs were leaving sooty footprints on the clean red rug.

The soldier stopped at a huge door without warning, causing some of the students to crash into his back. Xavier gazed at the massive door in amazement. White as snow, golden handles, and a shining golden lion for a doorknob.

The soldier opened the door with both hands and they walked in, seeing a huge room. This room was different from the other rooms Xavier had seen. The room's painting was golden, with well-manicured flowers planted on the ground. Birds twitting as they flew in the air, designs of flowers perched on the wall, and a small stream of water flowing through a frog-shaped pipe.

There were murmurs of surprise coming from his classmates as they saw the wonderful sight.

Then Xavier noticed a decorated C resembling furniture adorned with pillows facing backwards. Then it turned, and a woman stepped out. But Xavier knew that was no ordinary woman.

She was stunning. Gold hair effortlessly curved into wavy parts but was still very long. She wore a long white gown that couldn't do anything to contain her assets at all. Her bosom was struggling like furious dogs fighting over a bone. The gown barely covered her curvy backside, leaving imagination flying out the window. Her beautiful eyes gazed at them like she was analysing them, also with a dazzling smile on her lips.

"Oh, shit," Brian whispered, gazing at her with his eyes wide. "Where has she been all my life?"

Xavier didn't say anything. He just looked at the woman while trying to figure out who she was.

The man bowed at the goddess, then turned and left closing the door.

"Welcome, heroes." She began. "To my humble abode."

"Hey, lady." Someone spoke out. "Before you start spouting, give me one good reason why we look like slaves not heroes."

The other students chuckled in amusement. The goddess smiled but Xavier could see it. The way one of her eyes twitched. He knew she was barely containing her disgust.

"I am the goddess who summoned you brave individuals here." She continued. "And we beg of you to please save our world."

"What the hell is this bitch spouting?" Brian snarled. Xavier looked at him in alarm, trying to nudge him to stop but Brian was having none of it.

"My classmates asked you an intelligent question. " He continued. "If we're truly heroes, why were we brought in rags, strapped to chains in a smelly carriage, and looking like cavemen who don't even know the meaning of bath!"

The goddess smiled. "We had to take measures. Summoning you here could have brought incurable disease which can harm our people. As a result, that method was the only way to cleanse it."

"That's some bullshit!" Dennis snarled. "So you mean you were actually.....quarantining us in that way. What about the privileges if we're actually heroes?"

"And it will come when you actually become heroes." The goddess smiled.

Derek shivered in fear. "So...um... about our teacher, where is he?"

The goddess clapped her hands. "Gone."

"What do you mean by gone?" Xavier spoke for the first time.

"I mean that he and the driver have gone back to your former world."

"You know they'll tell about us missing," Xavier spoke.

"We made sure to remove any memories of the disappearance, the body, and the bombing. They won't remember you and neither will the world." The goddess replied.

"So that body was an illusion, wasn't it?" Derek asked.

"Yes."

The class was murmuring at that answer. They now knew that the body they had seen was meant for them to stop, resulting in their summoning.

The goddess clapped her hands. "Now that I've answered your question, allow me to tell you why you're here."

She waved a hand and a holographic image of the planet popped up with red spots at different locations.

"The world has always been peaceful since I came to reign. The balance of each rank from the commoners to the nobles had been maintained," She began. "But it all changed when the Chitauris came to invade."

"Having no respect for the gods," she continued. "They've attacked the planet at different locations, trying to take over the planet. Some humans, especially commoners, who apparently had been dissatisfied with the current prejudice committed against them by some nobles who still had the mentality of treating commoners badly, aligned with the Chitauris who gave them their blood, resulting in them having abilities."

She rotated the holographic image with a wave of her hand. "The rebelled humans formed teams and factions, doing their utmost best to make sure this world would fall to the Chitauris. They have attacked different times, some can shape-shift and pretend to be humans taking high positions and manipulating us from the inside."

She dissipated the holographic image. "Which is why you're here. To help and aid us and to save the world."

Xavier was silent as he mulled over what he had just heard.

"Hey, goddess. Why can't you do it yourself?" Brian asked.

"Because I'm a goddess." She answered. "I cannot interfere in the world I'm in charge of."

"So we have no choice, right?." Bella spoke.

"You don't." The goddess answered. "But you will be trained, fed, and served on, so you don't need to worry."

"I guess there's no debate," Dennis spoke. "Can you take these chains off?"

The goddess waved a wand and the chains on both hands and legs were snapped, falling to their feet. Xavier winced as he rubbed his sore wrists. He could feel his hands again.

"But," Derek spoke, when the chains were off. "We don't have abilities or anything. How can we save the world?"

"Do not worry." The goddess spoke, smiling brightly.

She clapped her hands twice. "As heroes, you have the privilege to awaken your ability, and that's what you'll do."

Xavier noticed as his classmates bristled with excitement, obviously anticipating shat abilities they'll get.

Brian slapped Xavier on the back. "This is gonna be awesome. We're actually real-life anime characters!"

Xavier only nodded, not saying anything.

"Now," the goddess announced. "It's time for the Awakening ceremony."
