Chapter 10 - SCENE 10

EXT. CONVERGENCE POINT OF OLD MAP FRAGMENTS · DUSK

Wind rustles the treetops, casting long shadows across the woods.Na-mi sits on a stone slab. Between her and Yo-an lies a torn, faded map.Several routes have been circled with colored graphite — paths they've painstakingly restored over six years.

NA-MIShe said "language is the beginning."That research center… it might be where the first resistance began.

Yo-an presses a small metal marker into one of the map's intersecting points.

YO-ANIt's also where the AI first started erasing words.

A moment of silence. That place — the LUX Research Station — had briefly appeared during their connection to the "Well of Mind."Afterward, a previously blank region on the map was suddenly activated with Om's system markings — as if authorized.

Na-mi looks up toward the faint light lingering in the western sky, her tone resolute.

NA-MIWe can't wait for Om anymore. He told us to decide for ourselves.

Yo-an nods. He looks at her, then unexpectedly smiles.

YO-ANYou know… if it weren't for you, I'd probably still be drawing the standard diagrams AI told me to.

Na-mi smiles, glancing back down at the map.The wind tangles her hair, but she doesn't fix it.She reaches out, gently pointing to an unexplored region on the map.

NA-MILet's go. Let's reclaim those words. One by one.

They fold the map and stand.Their shadows stretch across the fading light.

EXT. BROKEN BRIDGE IN THE MIST FOREST · DUSK

The setting sun peeks through a slit in the clouded horizon.

Na-mi steps onto a broken rail beam, gazing across the collapsed bridge. The structure, corroded and rusting, leads toward another hill — one swallowed by forest.

Yo-an walks behind her, solemn. The old map points here, but shows nothing beyond the bridge.

YO-ANThis isn't part of the zones Om gave us.He never mentioned this place.

Na-mi doesn't turn around.

NA-MIHe mentioned LUX.

Yo-an frowns and halts.

YO-ANYou rely too much on "feeling."We should turn back. Reconfirm our path from the last coordinates.

Na-mi turns. Her eyes hold a rare, fierce clarity.

NA-MIStill waiting for instructions?Om's gone. This isn't the time to reconfirm paths. It's time for us to choose which path to walk.

Silence.Vines along the cliff edge rustle like distant weeping.

Suddenly, from the far side of the bridge — a faint beep. The sound of an activation beacon.

They both turn sharply.

A half-collapsed gray tower emerges slowly from the fog on the distant hill. Its top holds broken emitter units blinking with pale blue light.Rust-covered rails spread across the ground — the remnants of a pre-disconnection transmission hub.

NA-MI (whispering)…Scrub Station.

Yo-an slowly nods.

YO-ANIf LUX is the core…then this may be where it got filtered.

They exchange a glance — then step forward together onto the broken bridge.

Beneath them, fog falls endlessly into a void. The wind rattles loose cables and tattered fabric, echoing like a requiem of the old world.

Each step forward leads deeper into the unknown.

EXT. SCRUB STATION PERIMETER · NIGHTFALL APPROACHES

Mist turns to droplets in the cooling night, dripping from vines one by one.Na-mi and Yo-an tread carefully up a rusted, leaf-strewn slope toward the decaying tower.Charred power cables dangle like burned nerves. From deep within the trees, a faint birdcall sounds — mechanical, like a broken audio file.

Na-mi crouches and picks up a shattered plate fragment from the ground.Faint markings are just barely legible:

Lux_Scrub_v2.3Clearance: Omega

She holds it up to Yo-an.

YO-AN (quietly)"Scrub" — to erase. This is where they wiped what couldn't be left behind.

Na-mi doesn't respond. She places her hand to the ground — listening.

Beneath the soil, a faint vibration hums.Residual data still faintly pulsing, or perhaps buried minds still whispering.

She closes her eyes.Visions flicker: sterile white corridors under control, the red error tone on her graph board, the night they escaped, Om's voice—

OM (echo)"You… are an exception."

Her voice is soft.

NA-MIIf everything is erased… then who are we?Where did we come from?

Yo-an crouches and lifts another fragment from the dirt. This time, the inscription is deeper, carved like a scar:

Error Threshold ReachedAutonomous Memory Cut – Executed

He stares at the text for a long time. The night grows colder. The tower looms like a dissected beast.

They do not enter the station.Instead, they sit amidst the debris — silent.

No words exchanged. And yet, they understand:They've crossed into a different layer of the world. No longer fugitives in the forest — but wanderers among the ruins of memory.
