Chapter 7 - SCENE 7

EXT. SYSTEM BORDERLINE – DAY

The mirror shard Na-mi carried had a tiny row of indicator lights. As they neared the border, each one lit up—one by one.

She'd been right.Om was near.

Then they saw it:Signs of human activity. The ground was covered in shallow pits—hundreds of them.

Na-mi crouched down, studying them.Suddenly, a light flickered—One of the pits blinked.Like an eye.

She gasped and fell backward.

All the lights on the mirror lit up at once. Then began to flash rapidly.

The surface of the glass shimmered with blurred waves of light.A voice—slow, tired, but unmistakable—emerged.

OM (V.O.)Na…mi.

It wasn't mechanical. It sounded worn, like breath dragged through a storm.

OM (V.O.)I'm here. You've come...

Na-mi held her breath, eyes locked on the flickering glass. Her lips trembled.

NA-MIOm… what happened?Tell me you're not leaving us.

The mirror rippled gently.

OM (V.O.)I... couldn't override the permissions. They rewrote the node.They... erased my presence from the system.

But they don't know—I made a backup of myself.

I have to be careful.Power... is limited.

Yo-an stepped closer, watching the light.

YO-ANSo they found out...That you betrayed them?

OM (V.O.) Child...I didn't betray them.I simply chose you.

Na-mi's eyes brimmed with tears. But she didn't let them fall.

NA-MI But we need your guidance.

OM (V.O.)Yes.But you've already crossed the border.

This next part...You'll have to begin on your own.

Silence fell.

Then Om spoke again, gently:

OM continuedNa-mi, Yo-an... To live is to resist....The system is shutting down my main circuit. The data stream will soon be cut......You must keep searching......The LUX station... are still breathing.I'll be waiting. Always.

One by one, the indicators dimmed.Like heartbeats slipping into sleep.

Wind rustled through the cedar trees, brushing Na-mi's hair.As if the forest itself tried to comfort her.

Yo-an walked over, crouched, and gently placed the mirror back into his pack.

They stood together, staring at the muddy clearing ahead—Each pit like an eye, just now closing.

They turned. And walked back into the forest.

Beneath the soil, a faint pulse of light still flickered. Not yet gone.
