Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

Two days later, Obito had fully recovered from the exhaustion brought on by the fierce battles and returned to the Kamui dimension.

The time-space realm of Kamui was vast and seemingly endless. Anything transported here was scattered across separate spaces based on time-point differentials.

For example, people brought here wouldn't cross paths unless teleported at nearly the same moment. However, as the master of this dimension, Obito could appear wherever he pleased.

He headed straight to where the Eight-Tails was confined.

"Hey, looks like you're doing fine," Obito said with a hint of amusement.

The Eight-Tails instantly bristled at the sight of him.

Boom! Without hesitation, the Eight-Tails formed a Tailed Beast Bomb and hurled it toward Obito.

Here in the Kamui space, Obito couldn't use intangibility.

"Tch." Unfazed, Obito bit his finger.

Ninja Art: Triple Rashomon!

Boom! Boom! Boom! The three massive demonic gates rose before him but were obliterated almost instantly by the Tailed Beast Bomb. Still, the attack veered off course and detonated behind him.

Without even glancing at the explosion, Obito stared at the Eight-Tails. "Still able to launch a Tailed Beast Bomb? Looks like you've got energy to spare."

The Eight-Tails roared, "Why the hell did you imprison me in this dark void?! Planning to make me your Jinchūriki? Don't even think about it! I'd rather die than have someone like you as my host!"

Obito chuckled. "Jinchūriki? You're misunderstanding something. Your power doesn't even compare to the Nine-Tails. Why would I degrade myself like that? You're just… a pet."

The Eight-Tails froze. "You said 'just the Nine-Tails'... Don't tell me…"

It had made a terrifying deduction.

"That's right," Obito confirmed. "You, the Nine-Tails—all of you are fragments of chakra. All of the tailed beasts were once part of something far greater: the Ten-Tails."

The Eight-Tails roared, "You bastards… You're trying to resurrect the Ten-Tails?! Are you insane?! That'll destroy the world!"

Obito replied coldly, "If we don't bring back the Ten-Tails, the world will be destroyed anyway. One day, beings from the sky will descend, and to stand against them, the Ten-Tails' power is essential. So surrender—"

His eyes flared with Mangekyō light.

Kamui Seal: Eight-Pillar Beast Bind!

RUMBLE!! Eight cubic blocks appeared around the Eight-Tails, morphing into towering stone pillars that surrounded it like a cage.

Obito changed hand seals and raised two fingers. Tail Seal!

CHA! CHA! CHA!

Chains of chakra shot out from each pillar and locked around each of the Eight-Tails' limbs.

"I won't let you win!!" the Eight-Tails bellowed, beginning to form another Tailed Beast Bomb in its maw.

"Time for a collar," Obito said as he cast the final hand sign.

Head Seal!

A thick chain emerged from beneath the beast and snapped tightly around its neck.

CRACK!!

The forming Tailed Beast Bomb shattered, dispersing harmlessly into the air.

The Eight-Tails had been fully restrained.

With a flick of his wrist, Obito unfurled a summoning contract scroll.

He infused Lightning Chakra into his hand, forming a Chidori Spear, and slashed open a wound in the Eight-Tails' chest. Blood splattered across the contract scroll.

Biting his own thumb, Obito added his fingerprint to the scroll.

Poof! The scroll sealed itself shut.

From now on, he could summon the Eight-Tails in battle through this contract. And thanks to the Kamui seal, the Eight-Tails would always be stored in the Kamui space. When dismissed, it would return directly into its prison without resistance.

Obito turned to leave.

"Are you planning to plunge the shinobi world into chaos?" the Eight-Tails roared.

"So what if I am…" Obito replied without turning back.

The original story, written by Masashi Kishimoto, emphasized love and peace.

Obito liked that theme—when he was just a bystander.

But now? He was a participant.

His story was about war and freedom. And both stories required the same thing: power.

"One day, someone bearing the Will of the Sage of Six Paths will stop you!" the Eight-Tails warned.

"Then I'll surpass that Sage," Obito declared, disappearing into the swirl of Kamui.

Back in the real world.

"What's next?" asked Tobi (A Fei), lazily sitting atop the Gedo Statue.

"Orochimaru's results are nearly ready. I'm not going anywhere—I'll stay here and wait," Obito replied, sitting on a stone bench.

In the nearby training grounds, Maoyue Xiyang sparred with White Zetsu, clad in form-fitting black gear.

Tobi watched her, rubbing his chin. "She seems to be adapting pretty well. I wonder what's shifted in her mindset…"

Obito simply smiled.

Tobi continued, "She's young but skilled—being a former captain in Konoha's ANBU is no small feat. But she doesn't seem to have any kekkei genkai or unique abilities…"

Obito grinned, "Isn't having big boobs a genetic limit? And her ears get hot when touched—that's a special trait, isn't it?"

Tobi chuckled. "As a woman, sure. As a ninja? Not exactly praise-worthy…"

"There are many ways to make someone stronger. The wealthy rely on technology. The poor? On mutation. I don't expect her to lead charges into battle, but I won't let her become a burden either."

CRACK! A burst of lightning pushed White Zetsu back.

Maoyue Xiyang stood panting, her forehead glistening with sweat. She had overheard them.

"I have a bloodline limit!" she said suddenly.

"Oh?" Obito raised an eyebrow.

She looked him in the eye, then shook her head. "But… I probably won't need it."

After a moment's pause, she changed the subject. "Didn't you say you were going to build me a hot spring? Where is it?"

"Ah, right… I forgot. I'll handle it soon," Obito replied.

She blushed, gave a small nod, and turned to leave to change her clothes.

GURRRGLLEEEE!!

White Zetsu emerged from the ground near the Gedo Statue. "Something's up!"

"Speak," Obito said.

"Konoha's forces are closing in on this location. Their target is Orochimaru!"

"Who's leading them?" Obito asked.

"Third Hokage—Hiruzen Sarutobi."

Obito narrowed his eyes. So… Kabuto finally made his move.

"Tobi, go keep an eye on Kabuto."

"What about you?"

Obito stood. "The Third Hokage was once hailed as the Professor of Ninjutsu, a man of immeasurable strength in his prime. And soon… I'll inherit the true power of Senju Hashirama. When I reach the next level—this battle will be my mirror to bid farewell to the past."

Whoosh! His black cloak fluttered as he vanished into the swirl of Kamui.
