Chapter 1 - prologue.

Running through a field of roses, a hooded Figure panted underneath the hood their breath hot as steam as Their deep brown eyes shone with resilience, Their muscles strained underneath Their weary Brown leather Armor that had nicks and tears That left their forearms completely revealed showing a long Gash on their right forearm while on their left, shredded deeply in the skin where many scars holding the same teeth like marks, that reached down to their dark leather gloves, Their leather pants suffered with holes around Their thighs and knees, tucked into their waist lay a singular daisy that dangled with every step, Their dark leather boots where on the verge of bursting open as They pushed through the open field, flapping in the wind wrapped around Their nape was a old ruby red scarf that showed signs of constant repairment, stitched back together with different kinds of dirty cloths making a pattern on the scarf.

Their name was Simon a young man barely touching the age of twenty, running for his life in the field of roses.

The earth trembled under his boots, the roses shook warning him of the danger that was following closely behind.

A ear shattering roar echoed across the fields, Simon's ears began to ring, bitting his tongue blood drizzled down his ears all the way to his neck, holding back the pain he pushed his legs further. He couldn't stop, his life depended on it, his thighs ached, his calf's burned, his lungs stung with every breath he took hurt, but it was better than being dead, and he hadn't planned on dying any time soon.

He could hear the monster animalistic growls, growing closer by the second, Simon could smell the cinder that clung to its brown colored fur and taste the ash that fleeted off.

Death was coming for him in the shape of a giant fucking bear, with a mane of flame.

Simon's eyes burned, feeling the heat coming closer if only he hadn't nabbed that damned daisy.

This wouldn't have happened at all, closing his eyes for a second he remembered how his morning started.

Laying against a tree with his scarf covering half his face and his thick hood shielding his head from ticks and the like, with his legs crossed over each other Simon was woken from the brisk cold air that dawned over him, groggily his eyes opened and met the suns early rays that shined over him, with a heart filled yawn and a long deep stretch, his bones popped into place, rolling his shoulders he uncrossed his legs and slowly stood up.

"Mhmm." He mummed softly, his left hand reaching behind him slowly reaching his rear he scratched, yawning again Simon looked over to a bush, moving foward he stood infront of it his left hand returning to his side, grabbing his belt with his right hand he released the strap that was holding it still.

In a quick action his leather pants fell perched over his boots, shutting his eyes a smile formed right after, followed by the sounds of urine watering the leaves.

The forest was unusually silent, all around the sounds of his echoed bouncing off trees, perched on branches the birds that would usually sing stared down at Simon with a sharp gleam filled with malicious intent, seated infront of the bush on a small rock a squirrel froze, with a acorn slowly falling out of its mouth it watched in horror as the yellow streams fell infront of it splashing its face before it toppled over in shock.

"Must've drank a river or two." He uttered joking to himself.

The trees around Simon creaked silently, their barks slowly spreading into arms, their branches shook while Simon began to whistle, aiming his prized possession like a weapon he moved it around unknowingly drenching the squirrel in the process.

Disgruntled silent whispers began to sound, green little balls of lights appeared from the earth to the branches and even the shadows watching the actions of the lone human degrading their mothers forest.

With a satisfied sigh, he gave it a quick wiggle throwing off the little droplets and what was left before reaching for his leather pants and pulling them up, quickly he strapped back his belt and patted his pelvis gently.

"Nothing beats an early morning leak if I say so myself."Simon spoke with hints of satisfaction, turning around his smile froze.

The trees that where around him, where standing a few feet away from him with birds standing in their branches glaring hatefully towards Simon, and an army of angry squirrels by their feet, The trees giant arms where crossed while their hollowed eyes glared at Simon and their hollowed mouth formed scowls.

Simon gulped with sweat running down his face, looking towards the tallest of the trees who held his bow and hunting dagger in its palm making it look like toys in comparison before it squeezed them and tossed them in its mouth, the sounds of metal being chewed echoed as Simon grimaced.

Shit….

Coughing multiple times Simon covered his mouth as he held out his other hand before saying."what never seen a man piss before."

Simon spoke puffing his chest up, walking towards the one that ate his weapons the closer simon got the more he realized how gigantic it was, completely dwarfing Simon in size Simon lifted his head all the way up just to look it in its eyes, gulping once more he furrowed his brows before poking at its leg.

"Your a big bastard aren't you but so what, you don't scare me none of you do now get on with your flower pickings and fuck off." Simon uttered looking around at each and every one of them before looking back at the tree that ate his weapons.

"And you, you ate my weapon you should know I don't take that lightly."Simon said poking his finger harder into the bark.

"I demand trial by combat."
